I totally understand how cathartic that must be. You deserve to rip away the past and have a renewed space free of that negative energy. It’s a joy to watch you grow into your best self, living your best life!
I put all my dvds that I wanted to keep (about 50 of them) in plastic slip envelopes (with their paper covers that i took out of the plastic cases), and it majorly helped me save space! I have them in a little box/basket now that I can put away.
I always think about what I would do in an apocalypse scenario - DVDs could be some of the only entertainment we have left! So I like to keep a couple goodies around
I am so excited to see how the living room turns out! I remember you saying something similar when you redid your bedroom - that its almost like you're getting rid of some of the bad vibes from before. I'm really looking forward to seeing the transformation: more colour, more Helen.
Girl you look so bloody good! I have to catch up on a bunch of your videos but I always get such style inspo when I watch. The animal print leggings + socks + converse combo is *chefs kiss* love it!!
Ripping that room out is healing you! Can't wait to see what you do with it. I love how you play with so many different colors and patterns in your house and it always seems to flow together in the end.
My partner and I have been slowly replacing all our favourite dvds at car boot sales after getting rid of them all a few years ago (and totally regret it). Sometimes you just fancy watching a classic/something you love and its not on any streaming services. We also like having analog weekends with no internet, highly recommend!
Dvds I’ve kept- Harry Potter box set, Hocus Pocus, practical magic, the lost boys and mean girls. If the internet ever goes I’m sorted! Love that you’re making the last space yours and putting that hallway room to good use! Oh and you look really good 💪
Dont get rid of the dvds!!! All the streaming services keep taking things down . Example me and my partner went to watch 28 days later and it is strenno where in the us , not even to rent. His dad still had the dvd and we had to borrow from him.
Second this! Ended up with no internet for ages and dvds were my saviour. What I’ve done is take them out the cases and have them all in small ring binders to flick through like a photo album. Take up so much less space and look neat/inconspicuous
A thousand times yes to this comment. I am currently rebuilding my physical dvd collection because I'm sick of the run around trying to find a movie I love only to find out it is not streaming anywhere anymore or on a platform I don't wanna pay for
Oooh, me in my own kitchen asking ‘are you ok Helen?’ our loud while I watch you get stabbed by that nail! It’s entirely cathartic to change a space. My father still owns the house I had A Bad Time (TM) in, but has been renovating since I left. I came back a year or two ago and walking into the completely repainted and restyled room made me feel like I could say goodbye and let go of the ball of dread in that room that was tied to me. So glad you’re making the space yours again ❤
Honestly the way that space looks with the wall knocked through = unreal! So excited to see how it all turns out, Helen. Thanks for taking us on the journey 💗 (also congrats on the removal of shit energy. Very important to move forward)
Completely get destroying part of your house and feeling cathartic about it - I recently moved out of a house and literally closing the door helped me move on from a couple of bad relationships! ❤
When I was watching the beginning of the video I was thinking of that was the last room that still had Matt's touch on it and I think it's great to close that chapter officially. I love how open it all is! Also the modified file transitions def made me take a second look haha I was like damn what's happening RU-vid!!
I died at the “Oats really get you going” comment - so true. It’s helped me here in Bali! 😂😂 The space you’ve got now in the dinning room is fab! I can’t wait to see the finished job ❤
Was it what you’d call an olive green Helen? I love olive green. It’s so retro, I tried find to find an olive paint, in the end settled for a nearly there. Excited to see the paint!
17 minutes in and i couldn't wait to comment, i remember that time for you, the before, the during and the after and i feel this release, of it being the last room is 100% needed for you! Honestly, you have been amazing throughout all the shit, not only in your personal life, but with whats been going on in the world and maintained your true authentic self throughout! love you always melon!
can relate 100% to your satisfaction in rebuilding and tearing down a part of your past that wasn't the best! 7 y.o relationship, had me hold on to a lot of items, that I finally just wanted to get rid of, because it reminded me of that time. Just "deleting" the left of the past you don't wanna have to live with is just nice. (especeally when the other part just decided to leave, while you as the other person have to "deal" with the scraps of the past..)
i have so many of the same dvds as you. i don't even have a dvd player anymore but i can't bring myself to get rid either! these days your only options are to bring them to a CEX or something and sell them for peanuts or bin them. neither option is respectful enough for all of the classics i have so they stay in and airtight box in my attic. i'll use em one day. i will! 👀
Im so glad you finally get to knock that wall down! I can already tell it's gonna look fucking great with the open space 😄 And the green color for the wall is a great fucking choice, it's gonna look amazing! Props for doing such a good job with the floors too. Please tell me your little hand is okey 🫣🥺
Fuckabout clothes 🤣 I love it, I now realise I’ve been living my life in fuckabout clothes since we’ve been renovating for a year and I just need some nice clothes in my life ❤
I just think you’re such a badass! House looking great! I keep my dvds in a big old cd binder because I’m convinced some day I’ll need them when streaming service go bottom up
@helendanderson have you seen the new home range in George Asda ..right Up your street and similar items that you have in your Kitchen/ bathroom but for lounge xx
