I'm very concerned about the way differing denominations of Christians treat one another. We all believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, who came to earth, and died for our sins so that we might have eternal life. We have to stop throwing shade on one another over petty differences. That graphic in the beginning of the video is so incorrect, it must be a farce. It looks like it was drawn up in the bowels of hell. There are no accurate facts about catholicism listed anywhere, and the last half are just completely unsupported opinions. Example: join by spirit baptism vs baptism by water...? Spirit-led vs man-centered...? These are just hate-filled attacks on catholicism. Jesus is the only authority, no bishops are infallible, the pope is only considered infallible on very rare, specific occasions, which by the way is supported by scripture that is also considered "divinely inspired" this is not an invented belief of catholicism. "Contends for the faith vs departed from the faith...." REALLY???? This is a fair argument, not an opinionated attack? WE HAVE TO COME TOGETHER, AND FIGHT EVIL AS ONE BODY IN CHRIST. @plagueday5395 much appreciated. I was drawn to the catholic church because of the direct lineage back to the earliest church fathers. As well as the fact that they preserved and compiled and canonized the precious Word of God!! Thank God for the catholic church, which the Lord used mightily! I have great love and appreciation for my catholic brothers in Christ! However we must remember that all men and institutions of men are prone to errors and corruption over time. This is part of our fallen nature. That is why we must be CONSTANTLY checking ourselves and our doctrines against the Word of God! We must be in CONSTANT reformation to Christ, constantly conforming ourselves to His will. The thing that ultimately turned me away from catholicism is that they have strayed from the original truth so that they treat the words of men and councils of men as EQUAL to the Word of God in its divine authority and eternal infallibility. This is false. No man is equal to God. No man's words are equal to the Word of God. This false doctrine is the foundation upon which the other false doctrines are built. Look at the pope and how the church now openly blesses homosexual couples! I'm sorry but open your eyes to see what is happening in front of you! Another problem is the bowing down to graven images as part of their worship. This is a false doctrine! Read the Word- there is nothing we are warned against more than bowing down to graven images. Bowing down to graven images is an abomination to the Lord. I could never accept this practice in my church. Not out of hatred for catholics, but out of obedience to the Lord who made His commands on this issue beyond crystal clear. Thank God that He has not left us orphans! He has given us His Word, which is the same yesterday today and forever! And He has given us His Holy Spirit to guide us! Turn away from false teachers who blaspheme the Name of God by calling themselves by God's title of "Holy Father." Turn away from false doctrines like praying to the queen of heaven and blessing homosexual couples. Put away your graven images, and return to the pure worship of the Living God in spirit and truth! Set Jesus Christ and His eternal Word as your highest authority! Return to the Lord, and He will return to you! God bless you brother.
Our "catholic brothers" don't agree with us that we are saved by grace through faith alone, so sadly these "brothers" are still unsaved and preach lies. We are not saved by "proving our faith". Any good works we do after being saved is out of gratitude for ALREADY BEING SAVED. The catholic cult teaches differently and it has more in common with paganism than christianity.
@xMCxVSxARBITERx that is right! We are saved by grace, an undeserved gift from God! And our catholic brothers also call on the name of Jesus Christ for salvation, and they put their faith in Him and are also baptized in the Name of the Father and Son and Holy Spirit. In other words, you don't deserve your salvation any more than the catholics do!! It is an unmerited gift to them, just as it is an unmerited gift to you!
Proud to be part of the One Holy Catholic And Apostolic Faith! Protestants don’t know how to read their bibles. They are masters of distortion and misinterpretation. Have a convert friend who grew up 20 years in a Protestant faith, read the Bible front to back thrice, and when I explained all the doctrines of the Catholic faith in 30 mins, he said it all made sense and he learned more about how the Bible all fits together in those 30 mins than at all the Sunday preachings he attended which lasted hours each and every Sunday. There is nothing that makes more sense than the Catholic faith. And for obvious reasons this is true: Jesus founded it.

@@sammygomes7381 the scriptures come after the Catholic Church, and they come from the Catholic Church. John’s gospel tells you that everything Christ did and taught couldn’t fit in the Bible because it is too much to be simply written down in a book. The Bible is the inerrant word of God, but it comes out of the sacred tradition of the Catholic faith. The primacy of Peter among the apostles and his role as a leader of Christ’s Church is evident in scripture and tradition. Mary is venerated multiple times in scripture (Gabriel’s visitation, the visit to Elizabeth’s house, etc), and Jesus said “Woman (Mary), behold your son!”, and to John, “Behold your mother!”. He told us that Mary is our mother as well as His. Clearly Mary was not John’s actual mom. Luke 15:7, the angels rejoice when sinners repent, beings in Heaven other than God can see whats happening on Earth through God and can comment on it (thus their prayers would be acceptable to God). Apostolic succession is biblical, priesthood is passed from the laying of hands, as it was in the Old Testament. John 20:21-23 Christ gives the apostles, who are the bishops of His physical Church at this time, the ability to forgive sins. The equal authority of Scripture and tradition is simple, the Bible comes out of tradition. Christ did not leave us a book, otherwise He could have just wrote, and passed out manuscripts when He spoke. The Biblical canon was not agreed upon until the 300’s. Centuries after Christ’s death. Writings of Christians before this describe a very similar liturgy to the Catholic Church today. Our faith comes from the life of Christ, His actions AND His words, the faith He gave us should come from the same. Sacraments do not save us, but Christ gave us sacraments to be saved through. He gave us the Eucharist, His real flesh, blood, and divinity so that we may have eternal life, and contrary to your point, He said “… unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” (John 6:53) He tells us we need to partake in the sacrament of Communion, that it is truly His flesh and blood. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” Upon hearing these words, many of Jesus’ followers said, “This is a hard teaching” (verse 60), and many of them actually stopped following Him that day (verse 66). Reading of the New Testament will reveal that the Catholic Church does not have its origin in the teachings of Jesus or His apostles. In the New Testament, there is no mention of the papacy, worship/adoration of Mary (or the immaculate conception of Mary, the perpetual virginity of Mary, the assumption of Mary, or Mary as co-redemptrix and mediatrix), petitioning saints in heaven for their prayers, apostolic succession, the ordinances of the church functioning as sacraments, infant baptism, confession of sin to a priest, purgatory, indulgences, or the equal authority of church tradition and Scripture. Protestants do not revere the Bible any differently than Catholics or Orthodox. The latter two acknowledge the need for spiritual guidance and interpretation through the lens of elders. Protestants do oine of two things: A) they ALSO accept that they need such assistance. Lutheran and Calvinist churches are very good at instilling what they see as correct teaching of and about scripture. They know the Bible is not an anarchistic book (2 Peter 1:20-21). Or B) Protestants DO treat it as an overly individualistic book and treat themselves as their own pope. So, they either do the same thing as hated Orthodox and Catholic churches or trust their own wisdom (against scripture).
Amen. Sadly Catholics seem to have added on to their traditions of men; repressive and pagan teachings. They’re utterly shame the true Gospel by polluting it with extra-biblical lies which have no basis is apostolic teaching. They also persecute Protestants who stand against their teaching for calling them out. It is incredible; the hypocrisy and lying that comes from their fake institutionalized fake supposed apostolic handed down church. They lie about true Biblical and church history. A bunch of heresy; and they attack Protestants 😂. Lunatics.
I am a former Protestant. I’ve heard all the arguments you’re making. You are wise in your own eyes and I am praying for you. The one question I couldn’t answer from Catholics was “where did you protestants get your Bible?” There was also was a second question. I also could not answer. So you protestants believe that for 15 centuries, there was no real “Christianity” until Martin Luther. certified very very mixed up human being came and rescued Christianity “ . Christianity has always had wolves is always under attack and it always will be until the last day. I now remember the arrogance I had as a nondenominational protestant thinking we had Bible alone while they were any number of preachers claiming they have their own interpretation to follow. So, we are to follow YOUR interpretation? I now know that as a Catholic I finally understand so many scripture passages I could never understand as a protestant. Jesus set up authority. Yes, the Church will be under assault by demons and sinful people. In charity, I tell you your claim is full of pride and blindness that you do not see. God created one church under authority, and we suffer with her when she has many bad shepherds and infiltrators, but we do not abandon the One True Faith. We suffer with Christ for His Bride. Humility and obedience, human beings will always try to find a way around. Luther and Calvin were destroyers not reformers. I will be praying for you.
No sure what protestants believe but if you were a Christian you would know the bible came from God. You would also know that Christians and Jews wrote the bible, not Catholics. As Christians we know that Christ found His church in Acts and followed the teaching of Christ until the Catholic church came to power and killed Christian that refused leave Christ and convert to Catholicism. There were scores of martyrs for Christ in the early centuries when most couldn’t read and didn’t have what we call Bibles. @@mikederp9612 No the Bible historically exists prior to Catholicism. I do know the Catholic church's specific teaching hinges on the claim that their church is built on the direct lineage of the saints, and like you said even claiming the first formalized Bible was strictly engineered through the catholic church but that couldn't be further from the truth. The scriptures of the new testament were written within a 20 year timespan after Christ in the middle east long before Rome. Ethiopia and Armenia had Bibles before Rome ever did. The Dead Sea scroll predate Catholicism as well. Catholicism is what's not Biblical. Catholicism 1.) Idolizes Mary, Mary isn't Holy or sinless and she IS NOT someone to pray to, and there is no historical or scriptural evidence outside of Catholicisms counterfeit of Christianity to support this. 2.) We arent suppose to relatively pray specific prayers over and over like the pagans do, this scripture. Catholicism specifically does this. 3.) Catholicism preaches purgatory. Not Biblical. 4.) Catholicism preaches you can loose salvation, are never assured of your salvation, and that your works earn you your salvation. And that you must be repeatedly forgiving over and over again for your sins, by a priest, and that entire framework is completely untrue theology inconsistent with scripture. 5.) Catholics idolize The Pope, there is NO mediator between us and Jesus Christ, the entire positioning of The Pope and his purpose is completely antithetical to sound scriptural doctrine. Catholicism is a counterfeit. And it is not the true Christianity or the same as Christianity by a long shot, and the differences in Catholicism and Christianity aren't simply different "branches" of Christianity...One has true teachings and one is a counterfeit.
@@tylerscott2116 Ugh....I said it was canonized meaning the Bible (collection of books in greek) was held to great significance or importance. If you studied the church fathers yes there are other books as well, but not in the bible called the apocrypha. The church is NOT built on direct lineage of the saints, its on the apostles or apostolic tradition meaning the 12 apostles. Hence why the earlies Christians in the 1st century had bishops such as Rome, Carthage, Sardis etc. Not all of it was written in the middle east or "long before rome". You realize that Peter and Paul two of the apostles went to Rome and were executed under Nero, correct? Paul's letter to the Corinthians was not written in middle east. He spent estimated 8 months in Corinth and his two letters to them after the time he went there were canonized. In the beginning much of the early church was in fact oral, you cant say Paul spent around 8 months in Corinth to fix the church there only for them to listen to two letters after the fact. Paul 1 Corinthians 11:2: 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you. So its not just sola scriptura. Much of it was oral and non written. You can read about that with such apostle students and church fathers, St Irenaeus one example. Catholicism is actually biblical. Peter as the rock in greek. Rock as petra for just rock not meaning anyone to build on. And Jesus literally changed Peters name from Simon to Petros meaning Rock as masculine form meaning Rock for he is the rock or foundation of the church. Interesting how Orthodox and Catholic understood this for 1500 years until suddenly people who think they are smarter than the early christians decided to abandon this idea. Idolize mary - Mary literally is holy. Even by definition she literally is by the Gospel of Luke. It says that even from the original text in Greek. She isnt someone to pray to? Do you pray for anyone? When someone asks for you to pray for them. Your pastor asks to pray for victims...that is literally the same thing. She is hyperdulia NOT latria. There is no scriptural evidence? Well then you clearly have never read the bible. Luke Chapter 1:42 “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb." bless·ed [blest] ADJECTIVE made holy; consecrated: Sorry this is extremely long What pagans prayer over and over? Jews do this lol you ever seen Jews at Wailing-place will literally repeat the seventy ninth Psalm prayer. Purgatory yes is biblical although Orthodox and Catholics do in fact disagree. I would look at Maccabees, Psalm and importantly Isaiah 4:4. So yes biblical and in scripture. Catholics preach you can lose salvation in very dire circumstatnces which is the rejection of Christian faith. This isnt just a Catholic belief either this is also Orthodox and even Lutheran. Also you dont HAVE to go to a priest to have your sins forgiven. It is not completely untrue. If you actually want a more indepth answer Ill go into it, but I dont think you are going to be open to any of this honestly and its a waste of typing. You can look at Corinthians or John. Pope is literally not against scripture see above of peter and early church fathers of the 1st century and their beliefs. Do you understand what a mediator is? If you ask someone to pray for you or for intercession that is in fact being a mediator. Even protestants do this but somehow we pray to a saint to pray with us TO jesus that is somehow different. Its not. The pope is just the bishop of Rome. Bishops are and have existed since apostolic succession from the beginning of the apostles. Hence why the pope is an unbroken line. People are mediators and conduct intercession in all forms of Christanity. Catholics pray to God as well and only worship God, hence the word Latria.
@@mikederp9612 Okay bro you keep believing what you wanna believe in, I'm not arguing with you. I know Catholicism IS NOT the truth. We will all find out when we die.
So here's the issue. If we base ones participation of being a Christian off differences, why don't you say the same about other Christians who have even more differences? Based on some of these "differences", many non-Catholic Christians believe things such as "water baptism, members can go to hell, etc". I would say an overwhelming majority of Christians believe in baptism. By this videos standards, 90 percent of christianity isn't christian. This video is full of completely false beliefs which catholics do not hold. This video is ignorant. For example: catholics don't believe indulgences save people. The only difference between catholic and non catholics is what faith is. This dude believes faith is "by grace". Catholics believe it is a grace that God gave us ways to show our faith. We for example get baptized (which was a grace from God to be born again) to show our faith. This is what the bible means by "faith without works is dead". You can't tell jesus you trust Him without showing it. If one wants to know the truth, follow the early church fathers. They can never be wrong because if the roots of christiaty are wrong, we all are. Early christianity relates more to catholicism than this watered down joke.
When you reach heavens gates, they won't give you 60 multiple choice questions about soteriology or eschatology or mary... all that will matter is if you have faith in Jesus Christ, the promised messiah, to be the savior of your soul. I think catholics get a lot wrong, but I think I will see them in heaven.
To all Catholics in the comments: Genuine question, how did he misrepresent your faith? Im a Protestant (non-denominational) I have no interest in converting, but I do want to actually know what you believe.
Anathema: "a formal curse by a pope or a council of the Church" If your church is in the habit of cursing people they disagree with, they're not a church 😂
Sorry but there isn't unity in belief in the 30,000 + protestant denominations. In effect each believing their own interpretation of scripture in the bible, everyone is their own little pope.
@sammygomes7381 Actually, God the Son did give us the Pope. It wasn't until the 1500s that Protestism came to being, and they figured out that the Christian Church from Christ's institution to that point had gotten it wrong with having the office of Pope's and bishops. So, in effect, Protestant decided that the Church had it wrong for the first 1500 or so years of Christianity correct ? Peter's modern-day successor-the pope-serves as the current prime minister in Christ's Kingdom. Like Eliakim, who was a “father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem,” the pope leads as the “Holy Father” of the Church. As in the Davidic kingdom of old, the pope is the king's premier representative. God didn't leave us a book ( the Bible ) either. But he left us the Church, which did give us the Bible. His Church, which is historical, Apostolic, and can be traced back through history. My point was that all the 30 + thousand protestant churches rely on self interpretation of the bible. They think that the 'Holy Spirit ' speaks to them to interpret a particular bible verse their way. Then, someone else reads the exact same passage and interprets it totally differently ! Who is correct ? This is why there is so much division in Protestantism alone. Anyone can start their own little church if they want to. The Catholic Church is a teaching church, just as Jesus commended( "go and spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth ,teaching and baptising ) as Jesus requested his Apostles. We are free to read the bible, but we have the Church's Authority through scripture and tradition to interpret the Word of God for its people. So Catholics aren't confused about scripture and its meaning. Remember that the Bible calls the Church "the pillar and bulwark of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15).

I see you don't read the bible much. The first Christians were Jewish. Catholics are Catholics that's why they call them Catholics. I can understand why Catholics don't believe in Sola Scriptura as "Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God" Seems the only word of God we have is the bible.
The church was united under the belief of the sacraments up until the 1500s when John Calvin and Martin Luther came on the scene. Let’s remember who the one true church is with Jesus as the head seated at the right hand. A major part of Jesus’ mission was forming this church through the Apostles. Jesus could’ve simply done all the teaching on His own, but He knew that there must be an authority on Earth under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to correct any human errors in the interpretation of His word. It’s also important to recall that the Bible did not just end with Jesus, rather it continues on just as faith does in a very real way today. At first, only the high priests could go before the presence of God in the temple. Now, everyone can go before Him in the Eucharist.
Hi @matthewduff9342, Thank you for giving an accurate description of The Catholic Church compared to this videos description of The Catholic Church! I believe that it is a real concern in The Catholic Church that more people do not know of it's history. It is the history and traditions that make it the one true holy Catholic and apostolic Church! It was always that way up until around the 1500's. Then, suddenly Jesus, the apostles, and all other Pope's that have had apostolic succession suddenly got the church teachings wrong when Martin Luther and John Calvin came along. They have had no apostolic succession and yet they got the "correct" teachings. Looking back on history I do not know how Christians would follow man-made religions, created by Martin Luther, John Calvin, etc. When The Catholic Church traces back, through apostolic succession, all the way to Jesus, the creator of our church. And so, I would like to add here also, that in this video they claim their authority comes from scripture. Therefore, they are claiming that their authority comes from a Catholic book! Catholics get a lot of hate that we are misinterpretating the bible, when Martin Luther, John Calvin, etc, have changed The bible to fit in with their interpretations. Now there's many versions of the bible. I also believe that is the reason why so many Christians claim they do not follow a religion they follow the bible. But, therefore, they are following teachings based off The Catholic church! And should then come back to The True Religion of Jesus. So, yes their church is different from the Catholic church and that is because Jesus never created the Christian church, Christians created their own versions of The One True Catholic and Apostolic Church!
I guess God had enough of people thinking they could be saved by a churches sacraments rather than His son. Remember Christ said the gates of hell would not prevail against His church and the Catholic church came close to prevailing. God set forth the reformation to save Christ's church. If you think Christ is in the eucharist you have missed the word of God and have not been saved. When one is saved they have Christ. Ephesians 1: 13 In Him you also, after hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and after believing in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. 1 Corinthians 6:19 What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? 2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, seeing whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not know that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you are disqualified.

If you want to pick up to 4 of the things on your list, I'll have a discussion with you. You are wrong about that list, to be clear. Also, I'm not sure how you could know there was a false gospel 2000 years ago but not know when Jesus started the Church. It would seem that there could bot be a false gospel if there were no Church.
*These words are not mine.* These are the words the Ruach HaKodesh (YAHUAH's Set-Apart Spirit) uttered through me when I prayed to YAHUAH; asking him what *he wants* me to say, knowing the truth: "Know that YAHUAH is the name of the Most High and YAHUsha is the name of The Son. Come out of her, my people, who have fallen to the deceit of Constantine. Who know not my name and say they love me. I have made myself known. I have heard you and I am here. There are many who are yours to be saved. I am he who knows all that you are. Come to me, here are they who are mine. Make haste to come, here are we. Give in to them who speak of me, they are yours. I am here for you. Know that all is for them, here are we. Give not to them that are against me. I am he who sees all you do. Come to me out of her, all are here for me. Do what I say. Out of her, come. All are here." Exodus 3:13-15 KJV 13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. John 5:43 KJV 43 *I am come in my Father's name,* and ye receive me not: *if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.* 2 Corinthians 6:17 KJV 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and *touch not the unclean thing;* *and I will receive you.* Isaiah 52:6-7 KJV 6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I. 7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 KJV 1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) Romans 10:1-3 KJV 1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. Romans 10:13-17 KJV 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 *How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?* 15 *And how shall they preach, except they be sent?* as it is written, *How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!* 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. *For Esaias saith,* Lord, *who hath believed our report?* 17 *So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.* Nahum 1:7 KJV 7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and *he knoweth them that trust in him.* Hebrews 3:15 KJV 15 *While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.* Isaiah 52:11 KJV 11 *Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing;* go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord. John 14:15 KJV 15 *If ye love me, keep my commandments.*
God bless this ministry. Thank u for demonstrating courageous preaching brother Mike. Many will hate you because you preach The Word of God and expose the lies of false religion. Let those who have ears to hear, hear. Matthew 10: 24-25 24The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. 25It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
A wonderful man. He believes Christian’s must have exactly the right Theology to get into Heaven. He must have missed the Northern Ireland Christian Crisis.
Scott Hahn used to think Luther was right on everything to, and he lived to make Catholics leave the church. But then he made the mistake of reading what the early church actually believed, as shown by their writings. Gone was the drive to rip apart the Catholic Faith, and it was replaced with a desire to learn more. That lead him to going into a church on a weekday, and during Mass, he noticed all the parts of revelation being tied into the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass right before his eyes. Now he spends his days deepening the faith of Catholics. Catholics leave the church because they desire to be entertained on Sunday’s. Protestants come to Christ’s Church because they learn the truth.
But yet you *ALL* serve the same "sin" John 8: 34 "Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin *IS THE SERVANT OF SIN."* Whoever sins - *IS* the servant of sin. That includes you. Jesus doesn't lie. If you sin again - you prove it.
Have you read the bible? Followers of Christ were called Christians, not Catholics. The first church-its growth, doctrine, and practices-were recorded for us in the New Testament. Jesus, as well as His apostles, foretold that false teachers would arise, and indeed it is apparent from some of the New Testament epistles that these apostles had to fight against false teachers early on. Having a pedigree of apostolic succession or being able to trace a church’s roots back to the "first church" is nowhere in Scripture given as a test for being the true church. What is given is repeated comparisons between what false teachers teach and what the first church taught, as recorded in Scripture. Whether a church is the "true church" or not is determined by comparing its teachings and practices to that of the New Testament church, as recorded in Scripture.
@@sammygomes7381 Catholics were known as Christians before the protestant revolution in the late 1500 's. Catholics took the name catholic in order to identify themselves from the protestant sects.
You’re right, we have the Church, you have churches, we have Apostolic Authority, you’ve got some guy in jeans, we worship our Eucharistic Lord as he intended us to, and trust in his saving grace and truth outside of our subjective interpretation of it, we have a properly ordered view of our Blessed Mother and you all seem to hate her, and your view of sin is simplistic and foolish. But still I call you a brother in Christ Jesus. Praying for your repentance.
Point by point response to his first slide: - No we don’t have two heads. Christ is the head of his one mystical body - the Church - Baptism is not as he explains, but is done using the words Jesus asked his followers use for baptism - in order to be born of the Spirit, and water is also used in the same process, as used in the bible. - The Church is opened to all, just as the ark was meant for the salvation of those who went in it. The Church therefore rejects sin and welcomes all sinners. - Jesus Christ chose men to spread his news in Israel before, and also to the gentiles; why would he stop now that he’s in heaven. He is the same person yesterday, today and tomorrow. - Satan fell from grace, into hell. Some sins are deadly, as St John explained. - If one rejects the men whom Jesus sent - the apostles (meaning sent), how can he have the Father who sent His Son? - The pope told us not to convert people [ correction after 1st comment: not to proselytize, but to spread the gospel ]. It is Jesus who draws all to him. We can share his message and make him present to those who look for him. - He is suggesting the interpretation of scripture as an authority outside of the bible. Translating an expression in two languages shows a glimpse of potential issues with sola scriptura across millennia and culture.
You didn’t use scripture to prove anything. The great commission in Matthew 28 tells Christians to evangelize m. The pope’s counsel is completely unbiblical.
@@earlem9771 I must've missed that part of the comment the first time through. I don't really believe the claim that the Pope said not do convert people. If so, it doesn't make sense.
Jesus says they are brothers and sisters that have been deceived. In Revelation 2:18, Jesus speaks directly to them and rebukes them for their false docterines, but commends their charity , faith, and works. Jesus is the authority of His people. God bless you 🙏 ❤️
JEREMIAH 23 1 WOE be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!saith the LORD now read the rest of JEREMIAH The truth 🙏 is right in front of you and me. much love sister resa
Catholics actually during services read two passages in the Old Testament and two from the New Testament from what I heard. Protestants read usually one passage and just discuss that. So rethink when you say Catholics haven’t read the Bible
