Nice video. I rode in the Triangle area and New Bern, NC for ten years, but never took a bike to Charlotte (a city I really like). Makes going back from Nashville a real bucket list item to ride that Little Sugar Creek GW. You answered one question I have been thinking about. I ride a Catrike 559 that I got mainly for the foldability which I have only done once since I got it. I carry it in the bed of my Ranger. While I like the 559, I also do longer rides and I will test ride an Expedition soon. I have also looked at that hitch and while $500 is a bit much if I get ride of my pickup, it will be well worth adding to an SUV.

@@BentRiderNation That would be great. I'm a member of the Middle TN Recumbent Trike group but haven't had a chance to meet up with them on a ride. They seem to be based in Murfreesboro primarily. They had a ride scheduled today but I had commitments.

Your video sure makes the case for folding recumbent trikes like the Catrike Dumont, the AZUB Ti'fly, the Scorpion Plus, or the more affordable Spike 380. Alsothe Greenspeed models have foldable ones.
Cecil Treadwell I now ride an ICE Adventure HD FS 26 and my wife rides an ICE Sprint FS 26 which both fold. We still put one in the truck bed and the other on the Hitch Rider rack. It’s just the way we like to do it. We only fold to place in the RV on trips for security reasons. Have a great week!
@@krpoin Foldability is necessary for RV use. The Leisure Van WONDER has a rear cargo area well suited to store two folding recumbents, but many RV's don't. You just have to put out a blanket and put them in the aisle or up on the bed.
great video.....just found you on youtube and subscribed. beautiful ride and well done video....it is a beautiful city with great scenery. one question....what type of hitch trailer...cost...and is it easy to use when you load and unload trike? you have a new youtube buddy with a guy in freezing New England.
One of the things I enjoy most about Trike Travel Videos is the leisurely pace that visually depicts the sedate enjoyment of our favorite activity. When videos are "speeded up", like this one is, that enjoyable nature that is a Trike ride disappears. BTW, I lived in Charlotte for 20 years. I didn't recognize a thing. Perhaps if the video was filmed in segments and in real-time (rather than to film the entire run at Daytona 500 speeds) I might have picked up on a memory of Charlotte.

The Bike Guy in Wake Forest is the best dealer in NC. We have a local dealer but travel over two hours to get superlative service. Rob Atkinson owns the shop and they carry all of the major brands. They have a lot of trikes in stock as well.
