These cows are the perfect temperament for taking care of their calves in the mountains. Love how your dogs work! That little colt learned a lot this day. I enjoy watching. Thanks!

I had this happen to me when I was around 8 years old. My dad worked on a farm made me drive cows and calf’s instead of my Saturday cartoons. Slow moving calf, so I hit the rear with my slit reins. Mom (heifer) got extremely mad and charged me also my horse. Thank the horse’s smarts backed up and I was safe. My Cody root beer was a smart, loving and a wonderful horse. He was a palomino.
A neighbor's cow made the mistake of pushing my old mare. The cow was very dangerous and pushed everything she saw. The horse rider who worked with me ran away with her horse and I was alone. I concede my horse heels to run but she refused. She just turned her hind legs towards the angry cow and waited calmly. I kept instructing the horse to run but she refused. All I could do then was to wait for the blow that the cow was going to hit the horse. I just put my head between my arms and held on to the horse's mane (I was still a child and rode without a saddle) that's when I heard a loud bang behind me and when I looked around the cow turned with her head on the ground after the kick the horse calmly trot to the other away. The mare was my best horse ever and could stop calves like few but she is now dead of old age. greetings from South Africa
Another good video it looked like those cows didn’t really want to be driven anywhere today a couple more rides like today on that colt he will riding like a seasoned horse
And yours is not understanding half wild beef cattle. Without the dogs, those cattle would still be up in those hills. These are not your fathets dairy cows.
