I remember seeing a video a while ago from Chris Bulaw that got me into travel fishing. It was a excellent video of him traveling to Banf Canada. I was never into travel fishing until watching that video.
I know - dude catches 1 snook and 1 jack and crowd goes wild? I guess people like watching him cast. If I knew that would be popular on YT I’d have a decades worth of footage to post.
You gotta get some massive shiners and float them under a balloon in this lake. It would weed out a lot of smaller fish and I guarantee you would get a new PB!!
Loved the vid lawson, my best friend and i both watch all of your videos and talk about them every single time we go fishing, just caught a PB snook of 39-40 in using what youve taught me!
I’ve had 2 or 3 days like this. People don’t believe it’s possible to catch 100+ fish but when the conditions are perfect you can get one on every cast. It occurs when the water level in the glades falls drops forcing all the fish into the only deep water around. It’s super crazy because when I tournament fished the average catch rate in FL was 1 keeper bass per hour. Drives you nuts because other days you can’t buy a fish after a million casts. Also done this once with sea trout - found a channel in the winter between two flats that was absolutely stacked with them on the west coast of FL. We stopped counting after 100 and left because we were actually bored and decided to chase redfish instead.
This video reminded me of the day that I fished with Capt. Shane and that day we put about 50 largemouth bass on the boat. Just smoked it with a top water frog almost the entire day.
@Andrew Schmidt I'm not going shout out a spot in the comments. No one would ever do that. If the statue of Liberty was in the background, no self respecting fisherman would even admit they were in New York.
Excellent video! The best day that my son and i had, we fished for 2 hours and caught 44 bass he caught 23 and his biggest was 7 lbs and 6 oz. I caught 21 and my biggest was 3 1/2 lbs. The smallest was 4 bass at 1 lb 4 oz. The rest were over 2 lbs and bigger. He also caught 2 that were over 4 lbs.
Lawson, I’ll bet you did not add this spot to your Fishbrain App you used to promote so none of us commoners will ever know where this place is where even noobs like me could have a high chance at catching a limit. You guys have caught more bass in just this one day than I have in my entire life. It looks a lot like Okeechobee, but you said it just opened and has never been fished before. I’mcurious how this untouched lake got so many good size hungry LMBs. Is there anything these bass won’t bite? Oh wait, I know! Anything I throw! LOL. What an amazing and epic day. Was this better than landing that 41” Snook? Gorgeous new PB bro!
Congrats on the new PB. Sure you hear stories about an 8 and a 9 pounder in the same day and wish that was you. Truth be known you got stuff to look forward to.
Awesome video. So this lake has been closed to boats, but are they going to regulate how often boats can fish there? If they don't people who keep bass will eventually severely dwindle the bass population.
