My wife and I came home from shopping to find our 15 year old daughter playing this on full noise for the entire neighbourhood to hear.....we were so proud 🤗😂
Me: you are ok with years of rape in your house but I can’t have 1 day to listen to all of Led Zeps tunes one more time? God: I said 8 minutes! Me: what a cunt!
Young man none of us are going to be pissed at you, at least none of us who really understand what you’re doing. If we wanted to sit and listen to Led Zeppelin Stairway to heaven, we can turn on our music and listen to it fully all by ourselves. We are here to watch you experience this music for the first time. You are the reason why we are here!
I know every word to nearly every single song you've listened to here so believe me when I say that im here to see you hear it for the first time. It's like it's my first time all over again and I am enjoying it all on a whole new level! Thank you for you being you Mr. Video and god bless you
Listening to Zep is weird. You dont know where to focus: bass, guitar, drums, or vocals. Theyre literally an all star team. Everyone is top 10 of all time in their own thing.
There is a 1 hr. Music special about different guitar techniques with Jimmy Paige, Jack White, and The Edge. When Paige busts into the opening riff of “Whole Lotta Love” Edge and White grin from ear to ear like kids on X-mas morning.
Do you understand the happiness you are providing for people like me... in my 50s... watching you listen to our music from the past and seeing your reaction? It's the BEST. This world is ugly and brutal right now and daily I look for "Mr. Video" to make me smile . Thank you for doing what you do! P.S. Do you know how much you're loved by people you don't even know? :)
Dude I adore You❤ I'll be 51 this year my son 29 I raised him on classic rock just rock and metal starting when he was in my tummy. Music has been my sanctuary I love I instilled a love a music in him. Now the world world today is just so messed up it's so sad, but you oh my watching you discover the greats as well as being open to rock and metal is joyous I love your openness and the way you interpret the music and lyrics. I'm prone to depression and anxiety and 2020 was rough thank you for bringing me back to the music😍 Music = Joy Back then 70s 80s early 90s back when there was talent and musicianship and meaning, not all the autotune crap of today....
Brother, you don't ever have to apologize for pausing and rewinding. We all know where to go to here the video. It's worth it just to see your reaction to it. Rock on, brother. Glad you loved this song as much as I do. Great reactions from you! Never miss one.
Tell us what kind of music you grew up listening to. I won't knock you. Every generation got their own. I'm 65, I hear every so often something I like but not often. Let's hear something you like.
This had me bawling as my Mom just passed away on 8/29/20 from advanced stage ovarian cancer. Thank you for taking me to that emotion, as I haven't been able to let go and let it out bro. Music works in strange ways! I love seeing your fresh reaction to these gems! I'm as white as Wonder bread and I grew up with The Sugarhill Gang, Slick Rick and NWA. You're quite a bit younger than me and it's a beautiful thing seeing your reaction to the very first time of hearing these songs! Keep on what you're doing! - Drew
@@musicandme4894 Matter of opinion. I've gone both ways for different reasons, but in the 70s and eighties Stairway was always the number 1 song on everyone's list. BR was always in the top 5. Wayne's World gave BR a huge boost in popularity in the nineties but even through that time, Stairway never went away.
Keep in mind that Led Zeppelin and some of these bands are playing not all that long after Chuck Berry. Much closer to Berry in time than to the present. Zeppelin was 1968-1980. Berry was mainly active from 1955-1972. Point being ... we went from honky tonk rock tunes like Johnny B. Goode to ethereal rock ballads like Stairway in a very short period of time. 👍🎸🔥
@@ebenclukey7293 The particular phenomenon that this comment was describing was driven by Brits (see The British Invasion). So your comment is kind of moot.
Sometimes I envy my parents, that they were young adults during this time period. If I had a time machine I'd definitely go back to the 60s/70s to see some concerts. Love your reactions!!
You got that right Doobie Brothers Grand Funk Railroad Rolling Stones Gordon Lightfoot Edgar and Johnny Winter that's just the ones I can remember seeing in the 70s
Same I'm so jellous of those who could see Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Queen, Pink Floyd and all these other amazing bands when they were in their prime. So many talented, creative bands.
yes, I had that on VHS when it came out then DVD when it went there, the best stuff ever from beginning to end, another good one is Prince's VHS version of Sign O' The Times, that's his best stuff ever. I recently purchased it here on RU-vid for $10, but I had it on VHS since 1987.
@@asdfqwer1234zxcv The LED Zeppelin is also played a lot on VH1 channel a lot . We use to see it at the 1.00$ midnight movie when I was in high school , or rather that’s what we would tell our parents! LOL 🙄🙂🙃
I don’t know why but that line makes me go off into another world there is something about zeppelin that can’t be replaced. They just have this essence and that’s what I mean
Dave that's my favorite lyric in Rock, no pun intended, I feel it means in Life if you have a Passion ,or something you really like to do that makes you Happy or Complete and you don't follow that Bliss you are like "" a Rock and not to Roll"" your True Nature. OK My Friend, my interpretation. 😎👍
Dammmmmn! Jimmy Page absolutely shreds on this version! All that dancing, movin and groovin you’re doing, Mr. Video...We call that “getting the led out!”🤘🤘
Gurl! I know exactly what you mean. I’ve been admiring the view of both him and Robert Plant for years. I love Jimmy’s soft spoken voice. It’s such a big contrast between that and his often loud guitar playing style.
I saw this live in concert. Way back in the day when I was 16. Now, I’m 60. DAMN. I grew up with some insanely badass music. And it’s just as good now as it was back then. Decades we’re talking. Jimmy Page gets so into what he’s doing it’s like he’s having sex.
I also can't believe you haven't done this one!!! PLEASE react to the version that Heart did at the Kennedy Center Honors... in front of the remaining members. It's one of the best tributes out there!!!!!!!!! To see Robert Plant, Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones witnessing it and see their reactions brings me to tears every time I see it.
An that Jason Bonham was on the Drums an wasn’t invited, but showed up just before they went on stage was the true surprise for Robert, Jimmy, an John. 🤠😎🎵🎧🎸🥁
@@MegaEaglelover Yes! And the performance is a constant build up to that finale... when the curtain goes up & they are all in John Bonham hats... the excitement on Jimmy Pages face is everything! LEGENDS
That moment in the video when Robert isn't singing - he's playing the tambourine. John Bonham is killing the drums. John Paul holding it down with bass..... But JIMMY PAGE delivers that guitar solo is everything life is about. It's EVERYTHING. ❤🎵🔥
Leo if you read this... Imagine the guy that played Jimmy's solo in front of him during Heart honoring Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors which you saw. OMG! To play THAT to Jimmy!! 😳😳😳
This is my all time favorite song! I told my husband I want this played at my funeral. It takes me back to being a teenager in my room smoking a joint and listening to this song over and over and over! Love your reaction!
"The solo came in, blabber blinging..." best EVER description of a guitar solo 😆 I really needed that, on this, one if the most stressful days of 2020, and that's saying something. Music is a spiritual thing, it touches the soul and that's when you truly 'feel' music. It's a gift to see that happening on camera and share the feels. Thanks for the good vibes today.
I’m a 23 year old female from England and I’d give my left arm to have been able to see LZ! Robert Plant is definitely a looker 😍 Jimmy, JPJ & John Bonham are just incredible.
I saw Zeppelin live 5 times. 73, 75 and 77 three times. I saw their last show ever in US in San Fran in July 77 just a couple days before Karac Plant died.
Don't know if he's still touring, but I just saw Plant in 2018 and he did a bunch of LZ covers with his band and it was amazing. He still sounds like this. Totally worth seeing.
Stairway To Heaven is fucking amazing. What a classic and one of the greatest songs and band ever! I will never get tired of hearing this song! You're exactly right. They put on a great performance!
@@RoRo-vr6wx Sincerely asking why you thought it was creepy. I truly want to know. You seem like a thinker, I don't waste time on those who have nothing to offer banter. 💜
I'm going to suggest Neil Young's, "Southern Man". Written in the 70's. I had my young black surrogate daughter listen and she was in tears. She's only 26. Mia hadn't been educated about how all of us had united outside of the Government and were fighting. demanding equal rights. Young's lyrics, "I heard screaming and bull whips cracking, how long how long...aaahhh...
Imagine most songs on albums as 3 minutes and coming across this on an album! I can see teenagers all over the world sitting in their rec rooms with headphones on, listening to this in the dark and their spirits soaring with every note and line. Magnificent!
That solo is like "Oh just incase you forgot who we are, Heres the best solo you will ever hear" followed by "Oh yeaaa dont forget our iconic vocals" BTW good job on getting it uploaded hahaha, you were really worried there for a bit haha
This is why us old farts used to have ungodly sound systems in our houses way back in the way back...new album would come out and we'd get together after school and listen to it from start to finish...feet up, beer open and just listen...
Ungodly. Lol so true though. I had top-of-the-line Marantz but my friends Kenwood 1010 I think was was ridiculously loud. And in the car I had 1000 watt alpine. We did tear up speakers. Jimmy Page and Led Zep GOAT
The joke goes; It says a lot about the state of the world that there's a highway to hell and only a stairway to heaven... I'm gunna leave that sit there and show myself out.
Leo, it's been wonderful to watch your progress. Music is so powerful: mentally - emotionally - physically. You are allowing the music into your Soul and it's a beautiful thing.
You should listen to Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks". Their adaptation of a Blues song about the 1920's Mississippi flood that was the worst on record. It killed many and was one of the reasons for "The Great Migration" of Black People to move North for better jobs and lives.
So if you ever go into a guitar store you will probably see a sign saying that you can't play Stairway in the store. This is a reference to a joke from "Wayne's World" a fantastic movie that you will probably love, btw.
That, and the fact that every wannabe guitar player sits there and plays a painfully slow, pathetic version of it, with a full second between chord changes. That, or Smoke on the Water.
I'm a 50 year women who has been in love with Robert Plant ever since I was little in the 70's sneaking into my older brothers room when he was not home to listen to his albums. I would get lost in a trance listening to his voice! So fun watching you feel this for the first time!!
This is the best of the best. The cream of the crop. The Pinnacle of Rock. The Master. The Beginning of the Beginning. The cherry on top of the whip cream. The Elite. The One that all others try to achieve. The Crowning Achievement. A-One. Bar None. The Greatest Rock Song Ever Written. Period.
When Jimmy wrote the song he intended for it to build in layers. He said it's like sex, starts slow and builds too the orgasm... Dazed & Confused from that same concert is another epic volume of musical mastery. It's almost 29 mins long and Jimmy goes OFF and becomes one with the Ether...
“Yes there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on”... you’ve hit on one of the greatest pieces of music ever written. Words and music. They transcend generations, ethnicity, gender, borders and they are tenacious at providing refuge when we need it most. BTW, she’s looking to buy drugs. She’s looking for her dealer for her “Stairway to Heaven”. ✌🏻❤️😎
@@vanessarupe2039 the song is in no way about trying to buy drugs. That sounds like some dumb shit some herb never even did drugs would think. Durr rock music is about drugs bro dahhh
@DLAnder Plant has said himself that the song has a very loose meaning as did most of hos songs at the time. Plant the writer of this song's lyrics was not an occultist or interested in it. That was Page the writer of the music. Which I think has led to lots of misconceptions about the lyrical content here.
Oh, also interesting note about this song is that it was very controvesial in it's time because there was said to be a "secret song" hidden within it if you play it backwards and if you look it up on the youtubes you will find a backwards version of this song that does indeed sound like it was intended to be heard ... And I ain't never seen any reactors react to the secret song either.... Just sayin'.
Some musicians did this on purpose. Guess most of them found it just way too hilarious to mess with some hardcore religious/political nut jobs to not do it.
The churches tried playing most rock songs backwards to try to find hidden messages. Of course we couldn't understand what the heck they were saying!! These days nobody hides anything lol
You NEED to see Heart cover this in tribute to them at The Kennedy Centre, with the Obamas there as they're honoured. 💗💗💗 It's so freaking amazing, you won't even!! The band was moved & blown away... They pulled out ALL the stops. LEGENDARY tribute to a legendary song.
I just wanted to say Heart did a awesome version of this song for Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center you should check it out and see what they look like and there reaction ❤
When this came out in late 1971 I was 18 yrs old and only in the Army for a few months. Many great songs came out but this has been a good one. Great Reaction
You gotta hear “since I’ve been loving you.” Live version- Mesmerizing!! From this concert- and their song called “black dog” (don’t let the name throw you off, at all) official or lyric video for “Black Dog.” Very groovy, sexy song- 💜✌️✨
@@robertsmayqueen9455 Hey Kellie! Good to see ya! And yes it is! One of my favs- I think Leo would like the groove and get a kick outta the lyrics as well- I can see him now- Man! This fire! I thought it this was gonna be about an actual dog or something..”😂 One of the MANY reasons I adore him! ❤️✨
Mr. Video, that was awesome! You're reaction was spot on! Legendary song, band and music! Look up Legendary in the dictionary, Led Zeppelin's picture is right there. By the way, the studio version is beautiful as well! The live version is a bit more powerful because of Jimmy's extended, passionate, and largely-improvised guitar solo (i.e., he only makes passing reference to the recorded version, uses it as a general guide to refer to, as he free-blows on the rest of it), but both are amazing performances.
"Stairway" - the huge rock anthem of the 70's -- FYI the studio version of this that played on the radio is shorter but also a MUST listen, it was excellent. Led Zeppelin was a force of nature for a generation.
if you get blocked for this after just showing how good it feels to discover this song then the music business is hopelessly out of touch with reality.
The studio version is MUCH better. Even if u dont post it...please immediately listen to the original recorded track. It will make much more sense. This version is strange....good...but strange. U obviously enjoyed this...so treat yourself to the real deal. Please!
Just like when man landed on the moon, you will ALWAYS remember where you were and what you were doing when you first heard Stairway to Heaven. It's one of those unforgettable moments. Mine was 1974 out in the desert of Arizona. Still an amazing song. There is a reason this is still usually #1 on the greatest rock songs ever charts even 50 years later!
Yeah, but that extra guitar solo takes you up the stairway. There's a certain note that unlocks the door to what I imagine would be heaven. That note is the key.
@@amyv8416 The embellishments are way too loosey-goosey, the instrumentals and vocals are not nearly as crisp as the studio version, his timing is off on the vocals, it's just all around worse than the studio version. This drunk / high stupid sloppy stuff like him just going "sugar! sugar!" randomly... that doesn't sound good lol.
@@honorsilverthorne7227 you're not the first to say that. I thought anout them when I made the comment, believe me., you're not wrong. I just have a soft spot for Zeppelin.
@@RobwLPOC Hahaha!! Pink Floyd is art! Moody Blues is moody! LOL! I'm no rock expert, believe me. I'm an R& B girl who likes rock. I just have a soft spot for Zeppelin in what I consider hard rock. I love a good Who, Rolling Stones, Yes, and others! These reactions have me listening to the Classic Rock radio station in my car now. .."It's brilliant!"
Young man, I've seen the original video numerous times, and if I wanted to watch it again, I could. I watch your videos for your comments and reactions. You can pause and comment all you want. BTW, I'm a 69 years old, white dude who grew up listening to most of the music you feature. Oh yeah, smokin' a bowl while I watch your video.
I just love you for being so open to the music. I love your pauses...you are right to do so. Jimmy Page be a guitar God. So..if you haven't already, I think you need to hear " Dream on" by Aerosmith. Powerful beyond belief, just like this song. And keep on being you.
