Jayvee, The KLF are electronic dance techno/house popular in the rave and club scenes emerged in the late 80’s to early 90’s , my favorite from them is “Last Train To Trancentral” must check out next. If you liked The KLF, you will also like 90’s Eurodance known for its hip hop/rap elements.
In 1991, the KLF, an acronym for Kopyright Liberation Front, was the bestselling British act in the world. Riding the post-acid house boom in club music, they could do no wrong: every tune they touched turned to gold. ... At the end of it, a stunned audience heard them announce that 'the KLF have left the music business'.12 Feb 2000.
This is not live performance, this is just add at the studio! They are having few Great song's one of them is also "Last Train To Traincentral" and Justify and the Ancient! This kind of music was a new wave of Techno,Rave and other kind of new music genres! If I may sugessted if you want listen a band U.S.U.R.A with song Open your mind, and you can also listen a Scooter with song "How much is the fish" or maybe Westbam with song Celebration Generation all this song's are from this Techno era, including KLF...
This is a whole genre of house/dance music. I' was a rave DJ in the 90s ans 00s and have plenty ot records in this genre. Rebel MC, early Production House tunes, C+C Music factory, SNAP, 2Unlimited. It's like a bastardization of house, hip house, hip hop and early hardcore and breaks. Late 89 to about 94 this was "the sound:. Alongside hardcore acts like Altern8 and Acen etc.
Kopyright Liberation Front. It wasn't live - it's a reference to studio equipment / mixing desks by S.S.L. The two blokes in the front of the car were/are The KLF. The rapper is Ricardo Da Force - sadly no longer with us. They're indescribable and supremely odd, but one of my favourite bands. More! 🙂
Yes! 1. "What Time Is Love?" made them big time. The KLF - What Time Is Love? (Live at Trancentral) is the original (and IMHO best version). They then released a second version called "America: What Time Is Love?" with a grittier sound with more guitars etc. "Last Train To Trancentral" is also worth listening to: The KLF - Last Train To Trancentral (Live From The Lost Continent)
Holy shit, I love that a new generation is feeling the love for this tune as much my generation did the first time round. Seeing your reaction to this made me so happy.
@@nicksneddon2396 I was just being sarcastic. I realized my phrasing made it sound like there was only one other dance tune available. I should've said "another" instead of "THE other". I thought you were referring to that and made a sarcastic joke.
The KLF were unique and outstanding. They weren't around for long. But their place in the UK rave scene is legendary from the early 90s. Justified and ancient is another great track with a totally different vibe.
@@dene39 I said the UK rave scene was legendary. I never specifically stated these songs were part of that. Although I'm sure there will be different DJ mixes about.
KLF was a late 80s early 90s house music band and so ahead of their time. They crossed genres and were beyond labels. For me they were early pioneers of EDM. They had 3 major hits: “Justified & Ancient”, “3 AM Eternal” and my favourite, “What Time is Love?” under the monicker KLF. They also had a #1 single, “Doctorin’ the Tardis” - a song about Dr. Who, under the band name “Timelords”, in 1988. They actually had several incarnations of bands over the years. In 1994 they famously set 1 million British pounds (@ $1.3 million USD) on fire and quit the music business.
All I remember is that when the DJ put this record on spin, the dance floor was pumping!! This brings back many many memories but Justified and Ancient is much more memorable featuring country artist, Tammy Wynette… You should probably check it out!
I am so happy people in USA are reacting to all these british music goodness. I live through 80s and 90s all these exciting music like KLF , depeche mode, new order coming into the charts weekly and I have not once listen to boring USA charts. Good on you UK scene is so diverse, exciting and just gets me going.
KLF allegedly stands for Kopyright liberation front, but they were known to lie and give a different answer every time. KLF and spin off band the orb were massive parts of my youth.
The KLF!! Lots of names; Kopyright Liberation Front, Kings of the Low Frequency, Kool Low Frequency, Kevin Loves Fruit. Greatness of the 80/90’s. British House/ Techno House/ Ambient House/ Alternative Dance/ Chillout/ Acidhouse/ HipHop group. They came with a bang; and shortly after; they left the building; way too early. Great band; great memories; one of a kind! 🔥
This was and still is a great banger to me! "Last Train To Trancentral", "Justified & Ancient", and "America: What Time Is Love" are some other good songs from this British group, whose style is best described as chill-out or acidhouse! Give then a try, you won't be disappointed!
KLF was dynamic, they used not just one sample in their music, but many. If you haven't done 'America: What time is Love' version. I would like to hear your review on that one. 👍👏
The album White Room is an absolute classic man, check it out. You checked any Aphex Twin yet? Windowlicker would be a good start, keep up the good work mate
From the song's Wikipedia page - "A version heavily reworked for a mainstream audience, "3 a.m. Eternal (Live at the S.S.L.)", was issued in January 1991 and reached number one on the UK singles chart and number five on the US Billboard Hot 100. This version had a rap by Ricardo da Force. Although a lot of crowd noise appears on the mix, it is in fact a purely studio-based creation. The "S.S.L." in the subtitle refers to a Solid State Logic mixing desk."
The KLF is a British Electronic band. I'm not sure what it stands for but they actually go by a few different names. Check out Justified & Ancient by them too.
I can't fathom ever living my life without knowing this song. I grew up in this era nice to see that a newer generation is still listening. Try Stereo MCs.. the most popular song they had was Elevate My Mind.
@@PaintedCavern Excellent recommendation. Ricardo I know this sounds weird but your last name is the same as my grandfather’s paternal side which is so rare. So I just have to ask are you in the US? We live in the US with some family still in Mexico. I’m so sorry to be inquisitive but I had to ask.
@@florenciaalvarez3213 No problem-unfortunately it's not my real name. My real name is Richard but a lot of people call me Ricardo, which I love. My last name is Shell, but I am from the state of Montana- which I also dearly love, so I picked it for a handle. I have never heard of anyone with that last name so it must be rare. ( And special) Have a good one. 🙂
@@PaintedCavern Indeed it is very rare so I had to ask. Fun facts about our last name, I have an Uncle named Joe Montana (of course everyone thinks he is THE Joe Montana) and my Aunt’s name is Toni Montana (not spelled the same as Al Pacino in Scarface). So that is why I found it interesting! Thanks!
I enjoyed this one. The earliest track on our channel is from none other than The KLF. Their 1988 release 'What Time Is Love? (Pure Trance 1)' is considered by many to be the first Trance track ever. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kUs504Xdd8E.html
Excellent track. Your choices are so varied. The KLF are Kopyright Liberation Front. The White Room was their main record and was amazing. They also have an interesting story, worth looking into. But their songs still shine. Also Britain had a groundbreaking dance scene and the Klf were a part of that.
I was so in love with KLF. Very strange Band. They said before tehy will make music till they are known and then the will disapear and remove everything. And thats what they did. You were not albe to buy or find thier Albums for Years after they were gone. Now you can find it again..i mean with RU-vid anyway.
3AM is when most night clubs' licenses end in the UK. I used to go to a rock and goth club almost every week, and this or Last Train toTrancentral (by the same band) was almost always one of the last songs played, and crazy popular, even though it didn't technically fit the theme... I think at the time, they were probably classed as "Trance," as supported by the title of Last Train, but they were just an indie duo of geniuses who created some incredible mash ups!
This is classic British early 90s (insert genre, take your pick) music at its finest. KLF were one of a kind. RIP Ricardo Da Force who did a lot to make these tracks even better. ‘What Time is Love’ and ‘Last train to Transcentral’ are highly recommended.
YES !!! I still listen to this in my car!!! I think I told you that this song would come on in the club and a guy (whom I never knew) would see me and I him. The dance floor would clear and we would dance to this! Memories!
After several absolutely massive hits, KLF became disenchanted with the music industry and famously decided to leave. They further protested by publicly burning £1million and removing their back catalogue of music. They went by many names as well as the KLP - The Timelords, Justified and Ancients of Mu Mu etc. A huge influence - only recently releasing their official videos on to YT.
Every time I hear Last Train to Trancentral I'm always reminded of Schipol airport, and waiting for the train to 'Dam. Last Train to 'Dam Central, . . . . back to the coffeeshops, back to the coffeeshops, back to the coffeeshops, smoke.
Yep, the KLF are 'EPIC'!!! :P 'What Time is LOVE' & 'Last Train to Trancentral' were AMAZING to :P + their odd ambient stuff they did was just really odd but cool. I loved them because they were different ;)
the song was huge when it came out. It hit #1 in the UK, #5 in US, and #1 in US Dance charts. Such a unique song, off a great album: The White Room. Great rection!
It's dance duo (techno/house band from late 80s and early 90s). It's two producers - they used sampling, drum machines, programming and made club dance music. Check out their major hit "What time is love".
Most unique band ever…..Enigma style……this song reminds me of when I first heard in the 90s …and saw the unity of all races and genres of music……together as one…..the way it’s so suppose to be……it was art…it was beautiful…..it felt like it came from another galaxy with humanoids …………..to teach us how we on Earth 🌎 are suppose behave and create as one……🙏🏼👊🏼
When the White Room album came out K.L.F rented an island and they would play this at 3 A.M. each morning. S.S.L stands for Solid State Logic. S.S.L. mixing desks are used in recording studios and for live mixing
This is the early days of TECHNO or you can say what the West Coast of the USA would call it TECH HOP, it is also Electronic..... If you listen to C&C MUSIC FACTORY's EVERYBODY DANCE NOW (GONNA MAKE YOU SWEAT) & SNAP's THE POWER, you will hear the same styling of music that they give.....
