Causes and Fixes Honda 61-1 Battery Voltage Malfunction 

Wassup brother I think I’m having this same issue with my rsx. I’m getting the code 61-1, also the bank one sensor 2 code which I already replaced the 02 sensor and multiple throttle position sensors. I also get the code for the throttle position sensor is either low voltage and sometimes i get the code for the high voltage at times. My alternator, battery , 02 sensor and throttle sensors are brand new. I’ll clear the code and it comes right back. It could be a wiring issue but after watching this video and reading your comment as well I think it’s something stupid. Something is throwing off the 02 sensor and TP sensor voltage. And I notice when I check the abs with my check engine machine it says the (61-1 battery voltage failure ) and (17-1 left rear wheel speed sensor, “open or short”) so I’m assuming that battery Voltage failure is coming from my abs system…Any ideas will greatly be appreciated

@@lierbechillin Yeah it’s tough sometimes. My other car is a 2007 Toyota Matrix and it is having issues with the battery/alternator now, and it was the alternator belt. If you’re having the battery light come on, I would check the belt to see if it’s cracked or if the gaps between the ridges are too deep/wide. If you haven’t replaced the TPMS, I would check if that’s the issue. It seems like certain electronic things go through others and causes a miscommunication.

@@21beamer60 my belt is brand new, I changed that with the alternator along with the power steering pump lol. I think I found something new which the ELD voltage high. Electric load detector that could be the culprit for the tps sensor voltage high but the code is stored under the abs system which doesn’t make sense. I’m going to change the ELD then get my hands on the tpms sensor and hopefully that fixes everything

Did you solve this problem code? I also have that problem too

It is difficult to say what the issue is but it seems like a wiring issue. I would start by checking the fuses and alternator output.

I got these 2 abs codes too on my Honda PILOT 2006 and I did fix the code, 61-1 successfully. The cause was from the battery losing connections at the 2 terminals. I bought the part called car battery shim from AutoZone to fix it. I still have the code 83-1 that is not fixed.
