Causric was nerfed because some pros cant resist the urge to push and kill everyone and just die in the gas

He definitely got a lot weaker. Yesterday the last guy alive in the ennemy squad was a caustic, he ulted himself and put lots of traps to try to revive his mate... I just pushed him through gas and was completely fine

They need to add back the blinding aspect of it. Honestly as a Caustic main it isn't as bad as I thought it would be but if you are gonna nerf the gas that badly at least add back the blinding aspect of it

They should add back the blinding effect since they needed the damage.

Caustic gas if it isn’t ramping up it should be a consistent damage of 7 or 8 hp per tick.

I opened one event pack and got that sick caustic skin and since then I’ve been playing him quite a bit. Feel like his ult should be 3 minutes and the damage should go from 5 to 9 or 10. The gas should be a threat and right now it feels like a fart in their face

I feel like ppl aren’t considering the map. Wasn’t caustic buffed during a worlds edge or Olympus rotation? Of course he’s going to be OP on kings canyon but he’s going to seem a lot weaker on Olympus

They also nerfed both Bang and Caustic smoke, so its even easier to see through now. It doesn't feel too good. I think his gas traps can remain 5 damage, since you can place up to 6 of them. But the ult needs to have a ramp. maybe 5-9, but something better than 5 damage. Having to wait 3:30 just to have another gas trap doesn't feel very "Ultimate"

d000d Kandy teh whole point of the buff with Caustic was to put pressure onto the Sweats to make them not push like they are doing now and before the buff. The Devs said they wanted to make him and Wattson a Threat and not Push Overs! The Devs pandered too the Sweats/Pros because they thought Caustic was the issue when it was really the Mastiff. Now Caustic is back to square one which is not good for Caustic Mains and the Trap House. You can have Wattson carry the ult accells

Knowing Caustic traps only do 5 damage per second means when a caustic that has no shields tries to escape into his many gas traps I literally walk through them to kill him. He no longer has any defense. The traps and his grenade are comparable to being stuck in 2nd ring. It deters people who don't know how weak it is, to everyone else it's like spraying water at a grizzly bear.

Watching you play Kandy is like watching those pre set up trailers for fps games where the player is just slowly aiming onto people and killing them with ease. It's definitely the way you slowly turn and acquire your targets with your less flick more track playstyle

Yea. As a Caustic main, the 5 damage isn't what hits the hardest. It's that they removed the haze effect in his previous nerf and didn't re-add it to counteract the FAT nerf they gave him this time around. I had to switch to bloodhound lol.

Caustic, my main and a Legend that is supposed to deter people from pushing into an area, no longer deters people from pushing into an area. His gas is hardly more damaging than Bangalore's smoke right now, and even less see-through. On top of that they added a full minute to the Ult timer, and made his damage static to a measly 5 HP per second, which people can just heal through. His evil scientist demeanor is now more bark than bite because what makes Caustic threatening is now nothing more than a slight tickle you just shrug off. You're insane if you think this is a good nerf

its interesting that its also a semi scouting tool since you see the damage numbers and get info where the enemies are. honestly it does seem too much - thought it might be a flat 7 or 8 but certainly does not go up to the big 12 damage. on the other hand - if there's 2 gas cans going out at the same time could add damage on top of each other - that the 2nd one adds like half the max damage - from 5 up to 7.5 damage and even more with ulti gas. just a random example.

Gas should have the visual effects that make it harder to see in it, the Nox vision bug should be fixed and maybe make his ult do a concussion effect similar to the one that Bangalore ult does/be able to "stick" people with the ult if you hit them directly like with an arc star(the ult might require increased range if you will be able to stick it on players)/waaaaaayyyyy longer gas duration for traps and Caustic ult/Poison effect similar to the thermite burning effect but doesnt allow the player to use health heals while they are poisoned. Don't forget that the gas only tickles now so Caustic needs the gas to do some special effects/mechanics will that allow the ult to be easier to deal more dmg with.

I think you nailed it on the head at the beginning, psychologically, the first few games I would pay passive against a caustic then I remembered it doesn't do as much damage and I was less afraid and I pushed harder.

For caustic it's easy If people aren't terrified of his gas cuz the damage is nothing... Buff the slow effect like a LOT So it would punish the teams who are trying to push you That would fit the "Defensive" type character

Interesting proposal here. The gas could tick up from something low like 3 up to 10, but because of that long tick up it will remember the amount of ticks each player takes for around a couple minutes so they can't just back out of the gas and come back over and over to avoid the tick up.

I think they should let gas damage stack, it makes sense that if you’re being hit by 2 canisters you receive twice the damage, it ain’t that easy to get people with more than 1 canister.

So if I'm doing the gas damage right: OLD: 6 ↓ (+7) -> 13 (+8) -> 22 (+9) -> 30 (+10) -> 40 (+11) -> 51 (+12) -> 63 NEW: (5) (10) (15) (20) (25) (30) (45) For a loss of 18 damage over that equal range? It's still a substantial nerf overall, since anyone sticking around after that 7th tick previously would be [63]+12(75 total)+12(87 total)+etc which is far worse than another 5 from 45

I've played a lot of Apex. From day one in fact. There's still one thing I have never figured out; helmets. What do they actually, specifically do? What are the numbers and why don't they break like armor?

I had a fuse rush my 2 mates in a room with Q and my ult on top of it, he finished both, stood in, looted them, medkit after like 10 seconds whilst in the gas and got out.

O actually manage to get my 15th win this season with caustic after the nerf but it’s pretend that he’s unplayable just so we can get him buffed again.
