Cave Johnson into the Caverse | The Complete Saga

After continuous hard ships Aperture Laboratories no longer has the funding to create test chambers for its scientific cause. That is, until Cave Johnson the founder and CEO of Aperture Science has a brilliant idea; get Greg to build a dimension hopping device and get alternate universes to build test chambers for Aperture Prime. All is going according to plan until something gets in their way and that something is alternate Cave Johnsons. Will Cave Prime and the rest of his crew be able to test in peace? Only time will tell.

They didn't have to write a whole story for user generated content, but they did. I miss when Valve still cared about their games instead of just updating localization files and adding terrible awful community maps for Christmas...

So you mean them bringing back Cave Johnson for Aperture Desk Job and giving him more lines and therefore more more to the already extensive Half-Life/Porta universe is them not caring for their games? …No seriously, I’m not even joking, Cave’s there in the game EDIT: My friend alerted me that I shouldn’t spoil people about the ending o the new Portal spin off. That gave me another idea: spoil MORE people about the new Portal spin off!

I know this comment is a year old but contrary to popular belief, Valve does care about their games. It's just that they are not a big studio capable of working on new games while having to manage the biggest digital game store of all time, while also maintaining DOTA and CS and TF.

Cave Johnson in this "PRIME" world at 14:07 is amazingly sensible. He shuts down GLaDOS after witnessing the results of CaveDOS. (On a side note, Blaperture Cave at 16:01 is also sensible. In his world, there was no Resonance Cascade because the "unforeseen consequences" never came to pass.)

I love how these DLC quotes give us a taste of two different outcomes that could have happened instead of the sad ending for Cave that did happen in the actual game.

I love this, it’s just the best. Mutiversal story’s are hard to make in story telling but of course portal tells it perfectly, however anything with cave in is perfect.

@@Greg3.14 maybe. Not sure. I wasnt quite tracking who Cavos is. Is that the computer? My assumption was at 14:07 when "Chariots Chariots" says hes cancelling the GLaDOS program, we know that isn't our Cave, because Glados exists in the future in our universe.

so hold on, does that mean the portal game we played is not the prime universe? because they cancel GLadOS, which I don't think it ever occured anywhere in portal series. IIRC GLadOS just start without problem other than cave johson died before the OS started working.

Honestly I think the game is on its own time line and these quotes take place in a universe where Cave never got sick. I kind of just made my own story out of it.

Prime is an arbitrary term. Who decided what universe is the original? Or prime. He just calls himself Cave prime due to his ego. He has no valid reason to do so. That’s why he also calls himself the “real” cave Johnson. He’s no more real than any of the others

I agree the video is rough but it was my first big project with something like this. I actually photoshopped most of the images together and put them in a movie editor over the voice lines. I’m not into the AI stuff.

@@Greg3.14 From a more constructive standpoint, yeah I did notice a lot of attention and detail was put into it. My word of advice is to animate for broader sentences, instead of going word by word exactly. But this is also its own style too, so you can also just call me out for being overcritical. Sorry for being a bit harsh with my comment.

These voice lines come from the Perpetual Testing Initiative which was a DLC storyline made for the custom chambers on PC. Computer Cave was actually first introduced back when these voice lines were added right after Portal 2 came out. So the Cave in Desk Job is probably a call back to these lines as a little nod to the Portal multiverse. God I love Valve.

Cave here, Wagons Wagons. just letting the lab boys know that we are canceling the Mind Control testing initiative. Apparently some core went rogue in the admin wing and talked some pencil pusher named Stanley into getting inside and almost blowing it up! On the plus side: Apparently Greg says this Stanley really likes to push buttons. We'll see how he performs under GLaDOS instead before that core wakes up. Wagons Wagons.
