This whole month has been horrible and the only thing keeping me afloat has been Robbie's uploads

Probably no one will read this, but this song hit me so hard that I started crying and I still am. I feel like literally this song is made for me; since I was 8 years old I've been fighting with anxiety and depression, and a couple of years ago, when I was 13, I started self-harming and one year later intended to take my life away. I'm now 16 and I'm again in a dark cave again, feeling alone and depressed in the quarantine, sometimes thinking about ending it all, but after all taking care of my family and only 3 friends is the priority for me. One of my best friends is treating me in a horrible way, and I felt more alone than ever, but thanks to your songs and albums, bit by bit I start to feel more alive. I have literally not enough words to say thank you, and for all of you guys, stay strong, we are going to get over this 💖

Kind of feel outta place here. I haven’t ever had any deep mental problems and I’ve been always in a good place relatively. So everyone just talking about their issues and how they’ve improved while I’m here vibing feels odd. The line "today I felt scared thinking about your empty bed" really hits hard for me. I have a dear, dear friend who is currently in hospital and it hurts so much to think of her bedroom at home being empty, her things being left untouched and her bed not being slept in. When we met we were staying on the same ward so I was never more than a minute away from her, and now I can't even take a train to see her. Thank you for writing this song - it means a lot to know that somebody feels the same way, even if they mean it differently.

its random and dumb but whenever you share something with someone you admire, it makes that something more special. something as small as having one of the same plushes as robbie makes me feel more connected to him in a way and less stupid about having plushes even though i'm only a few years away from being a legal adult. i love my moomin plush ✨

i can’t make a joke for this song.... as i lay in my empty bed this will continue to be my crying anthem for years... it hits so close... i had a fish, and he was the only one i talked too... we left for a week and i have him to my grandpa... but he was dead when i came back. i miss him so much. i know it’s so small but.. i only trusted him and he was my first friend. i struggled to much to make humans friends back then and... i obviously have moved on and made friends but i still think of him... i miss him so much rip sonic 2016-2017

I love how there’s a higher pitched voice in the chorus, almost making it sound like adult Robbie and child Robbie are singing at the same time. Like the part when he asks his neighbors to “take care of him for me”. You can hear a more child like voice in the background and through the rest of the songs choruses. Also the stuffed animal Moomin in the washer could be alluding to the “Like Snufkin and Little My” line in *Lemon Boy.* I think it’s just because he likes the show though :)

yesterday i found out someone in class listens to cavetown and girl in red. this boy who sits at the back of the class and sometimes he looks like he really needs a hug. he's been bullied for a long time and when a friend told me he listened to cavetown i went up to him and asked if he really did listen to cavetown and if he was okay then we both fangirled over robbie. it wasnt much but it felt great : )

This is the first song that genuinely made me cry, maybe the fact that I imagined me having to give away my rabbit, Remy. He's the only one there for me in this apartment, I tell him everything y'know. It gets lonely being a single child and not being able to have social interaction because im scared I'll mess up my words and i never know what to say, scared that they'll judge me. But i know Remy wont, he's my only company alongside my internet friends. Im also having trouble with making friends in my new classes since i was switched, its odd, but I'll get through it. My mom has been thinking of giving away Remy, it will break me. I don't want to loose him.

My dog died the day this song was released. I got her when I was 8 years old, she died at the ripe age of 11, almost 12. She was taken away from me on March 26, 2020. I didn't get to say goodbye, I wish I could have been there for her, but I had gone to my boyfriends house. No one in my house checked up on my pets other than me. I find this to be an ode to her. My neighbors (all of my friends who have lost their battle to suicide, illness, or another reason) will take care of her in Valhalla.

I realized that the act of getting rid of myself for the sake of my family was the exact opposite of what I wanted. I thought everyone would be better off. But seeing them visit me, and my mom crying made me feel so stupid. I’m now glad to say I haven’t been suicidal in years. My mom worries so much about me. So, i want her to take care of herself, for me. Thank you robin, for writing this song. It’s so powerful to me. Thank you.

When I was little I used to swap out which stuffed animal I slept with because I felt bad that they were in piles on the floor so I took turns loving them. Years later, I was sitting looking at all of them untouched and felt so guilty I took them all and piled them on my bed and slept with them surrounding me. I’ve never felt more safe.

I relate to this song. Why? Well I've always kept a lot of stuffed animals/plushies and loved them all and treated them as if they had real feelings.When I moved countries I had to leave some behind and it made me feel awful. The lyrics at 1:36 show how I tried to fit in when I first moved and how I ended up with depression. I love cavetown. I always will. I hope to meet him someday. They're one of the reasons I'm still alive. I'm grateful for cavetown. I love you Robbie
