Edward Gee
- The topic of discussion is pes cavus, which refers to the high arch of the foot.
- Pes cavus is associated with various hindfoot positions and may require an understanding of three-dimensional anatomy and mechanical models.
- Normal foot movement involves the tibialis posterior muscle firing along with the gastroc and soleus to allow the foot to push off the ground and invert around the subtalar joint.
- Pes cavus is a condition of stiffness, unlike flat feet which are often floppy, but can be a normal foot shape or advantageous for sports players.
- Corrective options for pes cavus depend on the specific deformity of the foot and should be individualized for each patient.

Excellent presentation the only point that was missing was about how the foot interacts with other parts of the body such as the spine and how that can affect the biomechanics of the foot. an understanding the whole picture is necessary to avoid making things worse
