Jordan would still be a superstar even in the modern league, but it is true that the teams he faced in the Finals usually had 1-2 stars while most of Lebron's opponents had 3+ stars, and none of those teams were comparable to the current Warriors, so simply looking at Finals records out of context doesn't tell the whole story. Lebron in general has beaten the teams he's supposed to beat in the Finals and lost to the teams he was supposed to lose to, outside of choking vs Dallas and upsetting the Warriors in 2016, so overall he's more or less performed around par in Finals. Jordan's teams were better in just about all of his Finals appearances except the last one against the Jazz which was a toss-up, so while his consistency in winning those series is impressive, he never won a Finals series where his team was significantly weaker than their opponent like the 2016 Cavs were vs the Warriors.

Jordan would still be great in this era, but when it comes to the level of finals competition, it isn't even close. They have 3 have 2 hall of famers and one Super Star (Curry, Durrant, and Thompson) San Antonio had 3 Hall of famers (Duncan, Ginobli, Parker, and if Leonard, if he stays healthy. Even the Thunders had three Hall of Famers (Harden, Durrant and WestBrook). Lebron's level of final competition is far superior that Jordan's. That is why his legacy won't be tarnish. On top of that, he came back from a 3-1 deficit with against the team that posted the best regular season record in the history of the N.B.A. Lebron's era was definitely harder, nothing against Jordan...it is what it is.

MJ is not overrated. Yet, Kobe is the best I have ever seen. His scoring explosions were unlike any other player we have witnessed. Kobe just got in the zone and was the offense in numerous games. Just give Kobe the ball in the first half and the game would be over. 39 points in the first half, 9 consecutive threes, 62 points in three quarters, 55 points in a half, 15 consecutive 35 point games, 9 consecutive 40 point games, 4 consecutive 50 point games, 16 threes in two games...too much flare, too clutch and just unbelievable to watch. Kobe was like a movie almost every night. Most of the time he was Stephen Seagal, other times Denzel. Sometimes he would dominate throughout and others he would finish the enemy in the end.
