Cazale: The Polish Town In Haiti

To this day there is a Polish town in Haiti, called Cazale! It was founded by Polish soldiers who fought during the Haitian Revolution! They deserted the French army and joined the enslaved and free Africans in Haiti fighting for their freedom. The town exists today and many of the residents are of Polish descent!

Cazale is the most famous, but not the only settlement where Polish Haitians reside. Anyway, it is fascinating to look at the pictures of the people who live there. Except for the slightly darker skin tone, they all have the exact same facial features you can see on the street of any Polish city, town, or village.

@@Mr.BeefwithChixken Saint Jean du Sud and Petite Rivière du Sud (Ti Rivyè) and Fonds des Blancs are 2 main ones, people who are from there are often light skinned!

Its really interesting how those people look exactly like polish people, but darkskinned. Independance is a very strong value for polish people because of history, we are conditioned to believe that every group has the right to independance and this is very visible now in the perception of the Israel attack on palestinians but also in history, theres a book Rassenkampf by Ludwig Gumplowicz which also shares this view (its also a very inteligent, smart and not-racist book about nations which is very rare for both the subject and the times)

As a polish i hope that poland let's haitans in without visa or any paperwork. EU wants poland to let in african and muslim migrants, I say we let in Haitans, they are our cousin from another aunt.

Can anyone tell me if there is or there ever was a Polish-Haitian Creole or a Chinese-Haitian Creole in these parts of Haiti.

Great question! I have read online phrases of Polish origin in Haitian Creole, but I know very little about that particular subject.

Potentially but creole languages are older than these migrations the French colony was first established 1665 meaning Haitian creole was already a language for almost 150 years before independence. Obviously there could 100% be loan words or local dialects in these specific areas. Poland and China have never had colonial empires like W Europe as they historically controlled empires in their own regions thus there aren't any creole languages. Creole mostly developed in France and Spain (colonies) due to European or African descent people being born away from their home and therefore adopting a mix of African and European language.
