Just a quick look at CB radio for emergency use. Sorry for the shaking camera. I keep in the spirit of lowest quality camera on you tube. And I'm killing it...... enjoy
Long time 11m operator. I have outfitted a couple of my non licensed friends with CB setups with very good homebuilt antennas. It works great for coms in our 10km radius. The setups were basically free. The only real cost was the descent coax😄
It's good to get our friends in to radio. The biggest issue I face is my friends have no idea how to operate a proper radio set up. And they have no desire to learn. I did however get my brother to become a ham. So that's a win. Thanks for watching I hope you enjoyed.
there's an option for the G90 to do a "MARS" mod which will enable the radio to TX on any frequency it can RX on. Its not a legal option.. only a possible one. If you wanted to ask questions from someone passing information via CB radio.... the mars mod would enable it.
You are correct. And on the G90 the part is marked with a large arrow. But I try not to encourage it on my channel. At least in the videos. Thanks for watching hope you enjoyed
4 watts lmfao. Ain't none of those people you are hearing run 4 watts. But CB is definitely not dead. The users are older. I am by far the youngest of the local operators in my mid 40s but there are some serious knowledgeable guys in the band. They build their own quads stack antennas, they tune up their rigs and drive them into amps and talk all over the place. 73s
I just got a CB for my motorhome so I'm very new to this, I haven't even got my antenna yet. But I'm on the north shore Nova Scotia and my local fire hall just announced they are cutting off the public from using channel 9 (the emergency channel) because of people abusing it. I don't know how this is possible but that's what they say they're doing 🤷
CB is a good start. It's where I fell in love with radio. If you find your self bit by the radio bug. Look in to ham. It let's you work the ISS and satellites. Thanks for watching hope you enjoyed.
