I live in Atlanta and no one even talks about hockey here. There are very few who miss the team. I miss having hockey here but that's because I'm a northerner. I'm happy for Winnipeg. They deserve their team back.
FAITHandLOGIC I know hockey isn't big in Atlanta but I sincerely feel for all the true Thrasher fans as we in Winnipeg also know what its like to lose our hockey team.
Just having to move a team from a city in the Southern U.S., where he was so hell-bent on expanding the league to... Having to move one of those expansion franchises hurt his Southern hockey scheme, so of course it hurts him. But we don't care; we got the Jets back!
And now the Liberals have destroyed the Canadian economy so bad, the season ticket sales are not being sold, the dollar is weaker then ever, cost of living higher then after WW2, and if it continues this way much longer then Winnipeg could lose the team again. This time if Winnipeg loses the team don't blame Gary Bettman, blame Justin Trudeau.
Well, Vegas has been a success so far, We’ll see about Seattle, since it has all the makings of a good Hockey Market, I would say move the Coyotes to Quebec or Hartford, but if they continue a slow rise back to relevance, I wouldn’t see that happening, At least with Quebec, they moved to a just as suitable hockey market in Colorado! Maybe Expanding to 36 within the next decade, and putting Quebec and Hartford in the East, and 2 other teams in the west, but where?
Unfortunately I don’t see Hartford ever getting another team, they’ll need a new arena and honestly it’s pretty congested out in that area but one can always hope
Hartford is probably out of luck because Jeremy Jacobs, owner of the Boston Bruins, endorses Gary Bettman as NHL Commissioner. Bettman doesn't want to do anything that would cost him brownie points with Jacobs.
this is where we as fans have to hope that the coyotes, a team that no one in arizona cares about gets sold to people who are from quebec and bring the nordiques back
back in 1996 i put a piece of tape over the jets on my car licence plate which i wrote "phoenix" on, me and the wife TORE it off, when it was announced, 15 years later, WHOOOOOO HOOOOO, GO JETS GO.
Once season tickets were purchased, the next decision was who gets the first home game and who gets the game versus the ducks when Teemu comes back to town!
Educate yourself about what actually happened before speaking from an ignorant position. It was purely a problem with the owners, not support amongst the fans. And Atlanta IS HUGE! It is the second largest urbanized area, by square miles, in the United States, second to New York, and third largest urbanized area by square miles in the world, only smaller than New York and Tokyo. The Atlanta area has nearly 6 million people. Winnipeg has 750,000 or so. Atlanta's market share is much larger, and if the team was marketed correctly and had good owners they'd still be in Atlanta. I mean, if Nashville, a metro that Atlanta is nearly four times the size can be successful, then certainly Atlanta could be.
@@christfollower7315 Yes, Atlanta is huge. It just doesn't have a sufficient hockey fan base. That has been demonstrated not once, but twice now. Educate yourself with the facts, deal with them, and quit blaming everything on the owners.
