@@graysonclarkgraysontv5277 He's referring to the national anthem clip that begins 1:00 in. Most Canadian stations aired this at some point between the late 70s-90s.
I was born in 1978, and I am now age 44, I remember falling asleep with the TV on and waking up to this test sound. What a blast from the past and seeing the old Canada as well. Sorry, I meant to say oh Canada.
I'm a Yank born and a 6th gen Seattlite. So, I see Canadians as my cousins and the best friends another country can have. I'm sorry my nation hasn't always well-reciprocated. O Canada is by far and away the greatest national anthem on the planet. May Canada always be glorious and free.
I guess CBLT didn't see a need to go into that at all with their transmitters though in the 90's they would start bringing up the communities they serve over a map of the province.
the lyrics are : O JJ Anthem: O J.J.'s RU-vid channel I really think you're fine! When Sun News closed I made you to fill up my free time. I (ughh) make videos on Canada and people click like hell. I sometimes try to mix things up but those don't do as well. Quebeckers all hate me. I'm not super into them too. O J.J.'s RU-vid channel! I wish you had more views.
Could have been any number of stations along the US-Canada border: WNED/Buffalo, NY; WNMU/Marquette, MI; WTVS/Detroit, MI; Prairie Public TV/North Dakota; KCTS/Seattle, WA; WENH/Durham, NH; WCFE/Plattsburgh, NY; Vermont PBS (formerly Vermont ETV/Vermont Public Television); WPBS/Watertown, NY (formerly WNPE); WQLN/Erie, PA; WXXI/Rochester, NY; Maine Public Broadcasting Network (formerly Maine Public Television).
Anyone in the RU-vid universe know of another "children's chorus" version of O Canada that is billingual? I think it might have run on CJOH at signoff.
Holly, I am a broadcast engineer. The "green thing" at the top of the test pattern IS part of the test pattern. It would be called a "luminance ramp" modulated with the color burst signal. It is a check for luminance response with the chroma burst signal added. With the chroma removed it should look like a smooth ramp from black to white. A similar test pattern is called NTC-7 and can be viewed at 29:00 on this YT video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nzMBuVFM634.html In that case, the luminance is of a "step" nature with the burst signal added.
