CBS Television You Can Feel  

My Mom and I used to watch Murphy Brown every week on Monday night it was a fun show God I miss those days

The theme song for CBS' promo, "TV You Can Feel" was one of my cult favorite hit songs.

Murphy Brown premiered on the same day I was born! November 14th. The only difference was that Murphy Brown was born in 1988 and I was born in 1995.

The weekly series did start in 1988.

"You can feel it on Channel 10" WCAU-TV Philadelphia (Prior to flipping to NBC 10 on September 10, 1995).

Poor CBS didn't even try this season. An ironic contrast to their upbeat Saturday morning theme: Saturday Rocks. As a kid, I only watched the holiday specials on CBS primetime. Charlie Brown doesn't seem the same since he was moved to ABC.

Amazing I was born on December 6th,1988 CBS shows was Dallas Murphy brown and newhart. Before kdfw meet fox in 1995.

As of 1/24/22, coincidentally my younger sister's 34th Birthday, I just saw all 184 episodes of Newhart.

WRAL in Raleigh, NC always had their own announcer over the ID.

I also have seen all 122 episodes of Kate & Allie, all 47 episodes of Pee-wee's Playhouse, and all 13 episodes of Hey Vern, It's Ernest!!!.

while the other networks were doing their image campaigns in an all out party-going matter (NBC, ABC, Fox etc...) at the time CBS went for a calmer approach using the "Television You Can Feel" theme (AKA *You Can Feel It on CBS*), since they already slipped to third place in the ratings.

Rather lackluster, IMO, though I did like the instrumental stinger used for network/affiliate IDs that season.

This is too somber (judging by their ratings at the time it was good for them to do a much "calmer" approach), but I did like the "CBS Spirit" campaign from the previous year (1987).

Murphy Brown debuted that year and was the only bright spot on their schedule.

If CBS did this today they would show clips from the latest shows (Magnum P.I. (2018 version), S.W.A.T., God Friended Me, NCIS, Madam Secretary, Criminal Minds, Young Sheldon, Mom, NCIS: LA, Evil etc....), while ending with a shot of Emily Prentiss and the BAU team (since this is Criminal Minds's last season).
