This Ball Action tutorial is phenomenal! I was looking far and wide for a way to create fake scatterplots (dots on an x-y grid) to illustrate bad use of correlation, ones that could animate from one to the next. I was looking at Particle effects and going down a rabbit hole. Then I thought I'd need to use brute force with 50 little circles on different layers. This tutorial on the Ball Action effect saved my behind! I applied it to a shape (using a mask to draw the area I wanted the dots to appear), animated the mask when I needed to, changed the Scatter amount as needed, and voila! Thanks Jake!
Awesome video as always, got me wondering. Can i use CC Ball Action for some pixel sorting effect? Any thoughts? I would love a tutorial for pixel sorting. Thank you for showing the ins and outs on After Effects.
@@JakeInMotion Indeed it does! I personally love combining 2D layers with 3D effects and cameras. @@timeijs12 how to do the work around. I am trying to add 2 instances on 3d aware effects on 2 separate layers in one comp. when I rotate the 3D breaks. I am scratching my head over this. any help is much appreciated. and by the way your film is beautiful.
