Most content creators have the same aesthetic and I feel like that’s where she was getting at. No one knows how to be “normal” as in before social media became influential and everyone is basically doing the same thing as the next person

i don’t think she was “projecting” anything.. i think she was more so saying BE REALISTIC.. she followed up w/ what she do in the morning to let it be known it’s okay to be DIFFERENT and not follow a certain AESTHETIC/ ROUTINE. that’s what i PERSONALLY got from it. ❤ (ps. i don’t smoke, drink coffee, nor open my blinds)

I think she was basically saying be yourself. Stop trying to live someone else life. Basically, be yourself. We have to be honest. Most of the influencers are doing the same recycled stuff. Everyone need to be themselves.

Hate to say it but the girl from Tik Tok was on point! 1000%! When you look around in these YT streets, alot of influencers are doing the EXACT SAME things & it gives unrealistic no matter HOW u try to spin it. WHERE is the originality these days? Many call themselves a Creative- but hunny WHERE is the creativity? IJS ... what I've been trying to do lately is seek out creators who are not doing the same ole, but who have their OWN original style & content.

The TikTok girl was right I refuse to believe certain ladies do all the bed making and the rest of your house is filthy most of the time. Girl bye. RU-vid is definitely the land of make believe.

I love the content I watch but nearly everyone goes to Starbucks, target, decor shopping at home goods etc, make hello fresh meals, get a puppy, 2k nails, hair, & lashes appts & repeat. And have the same home aesthetic. So I get what she means. You really have to search for your variety.

She was right lol no one has their own identity. Go to Starbucks go to target go to home goods sums up all the RU-vid girls now

To sum it up, I think she’s just expressing that the diversity on RU-vid has changed significantly. There’s very little variety these days. I’ve been fortunate to be a homemaker for the past 17 years and I remember coming to RU-vid years ago, for ideas to makeover my home, find new recipes, new destinations to book family vacations, find activities for my children, plan romantic date nights for my husband and I, etc. There’s not much room for that anymore as it appears the majority of RU-vidrs are the doing same things. Sometimes as a viewer you’re left feeling like the only thing that sets people apart these days are their channel names and not much else. If I’m watching a RU-vidr these days, it’s because I love your vibes/energy/personality and you’re just my cup of tea!!! It’s as simple as not watching if you’re not enjoying what you’re watching. Let this be a lesson for us all to tap into our own creative sides and stop looking for other people’s ideas to live by because this world is going to start giving ”Stepfrord Wives”. We don’t need that! Be you, love you! 😘✌🏾and most importantly remember you’re here to enjoy these content creators. I still support them regardless because they work hard to provide content just for our entertainment 👍🏾!

Honestly, she said what a lot of people are thinking. Now her delivery was way off, but, her “thoughts” behind it weren’t totally off. What defines a “regular person” is subjective to someone’s opinion and sometimes, when you see the same thing over and over, it comes across as copycat, for a lack of a better way to say it. For instance, the lingo is the same (I’m obsessed, chef’s kiss, etc). There is one specific content creator that I watch that I know every single vlog is going to deliver something different. I do; however, love seeing all of the content creators succeed and grow.

I hope this is a safe space but I high key agree with the girl on Tiktok. All the RU-vid girls do the same stuff all down to the at home coffee aesthetic, daily errands & GRWM. It’s literally all the same … is it really relatable? It’s totally okay to not want that life. Just because their normal is different from yours doesn’t mean their jealous of your life nor hating. Not everyone wants to be dripped in designer and aspire the RU-vid Vlog life. The reality is 90% of us HAVE TO WORK 9-5. Maybe more hours so NO we don’t have time to run errands between work, kids and school and whatever life brings. Our goals are much different well at least for me. I much rather work and save to buy land and property they designer bags. Doesn’t mean I’m jealous of you, I’m still here supporting but my normal and goals are different. My “normal” is not what you see on RU-vid. That’s why most ppl watch because it gives a different perspective doesn’t mean they wish that for them or their “jealous”

Chelsie because someone doesn’t agree with you doesn’t make them a hater. I think it’s the same aesthetic everyone is forcing that she’s calling out. Personally, I have 30 seconds to make my bed to make it to work on time.

I think the right word would be "Realistic". I can understand where she's coming from in the sense that not everyone can wake up and hit up Target 2 or 3 times a week, in the middle of the week. A lot of people don't have "Target money" and/or $30 - $40 to blow every week on Starbucks. It's unrealistic for a majority of people. What I got was let's normalize a 9a-5p job, 1-bed apartments with popcorn ceilings, furniture that doesn't match, having a car with cloth seats, shopping at Kroger, Fry's, HEB, and Safeway...some "normal" people stuff. That's why I got.

Regular people are already “normalized”… people are so sucked into social media that they forget to look around in REAL LIFE. There’s nothing wrong with someone wanting a nice, clean aesthetic (doesn’t need to be all beige) and not wanting to sit around, smoke weed, and do “fuck shit”. I’m a stay at home mom & wife. But when I was in my career & even in graduate school, I ran errands more than a few times a week & Starbucks everyday. Target a few times a week too. And I’m not an influencer, don’t even have any social media at all, I just do what I enjoy. People need to stop overusing the term “normalize” for things that are already quite normal.

The titktok girl is normal. The average person isn't going to "run errands" EVERYDAY like its the same stuff at Target on Wednesday as it was on Tuesday. The average person is getting their errands done once or twice a week.

I took the TT video as satirical for content creators that often do the same rituals. Those working 9-5, full-time parents, caregivers, etc aren't typically in Target, Homegoods, Walmart, Bath and Body Works spending frivolously every week. Now I won't say ALL content creators are equal, but when the recommended videos happen to mimic the next, her point gains validity. I could imagine all the behind the scenes efforts that go into creating, editing and what not, but switch it up. Ex. Glamazontay may not be everyones cup of tea but she'll take on different creative projects, doing hair or making clothing. The element of surprise lacks for a lot, but then again it's a business and I'm able to separate entertainment from MY everyday realities.

What’s regular for some may not be “regular” for others. I don’t do fuck shit all day but i also don’t make my bed every day or drink matcha. The aesthetic of alot of RU-vidrs who are largely pushed by the algorithm are pretty similar. Chelsie’s channel stands out because of her personality, genuineness and rawness. From my perspective of the video and from being here on RU-vid and watching vlogs everyone got the same sofa and home esthetic, everyone has the making the bed and morning coffee montage, everyone has similar thumbnails with the filter and three split columns , everyone stops at Starbucks while running errands. its giving contrived and conformity. A lifestyle I get up every morning make beds, clean or touch up bathrooms, sweep, mop, cook breakfast, meditate, pray, post reels, building up my Idea content !! I think you are both right. Their are definitely people who sleep on themselves or don’t dream big because it’s safe to stick to what they know but at the same time everyone pretty much promotes an aesthetic life - neat put together homes where every thing down the silverware matches some people like the simple things / less aesthetic life lol they like the comforters their grandma had, going to their regular job and then coming home to a blunt and Netflix.

I don't think she was projecting. Honestly, the RU-vid girls make it seem like they have no personalities and that their content is all totally contrived. You can see it in how everyone posts the same videos doing the same things... Starbucks, home goods target, Zara, h&m... The newest is the 'monthly reset' and 'sunday reset' and it's all the same things.

I think you saying that this person feels stuck in living a mediocre life is a major stretch. This person could easily be comfortable. What they are saying is a valid critique. Yes regular is subjective, but let’s not be dense. As someone who puts your life on the internet, you can’t sit and pretend that MUCH of the things on here aren’t copy + paste but with a different account. I’m a freelance social media manager, and the amount of folks who won’t put stuff on the internet because they feel pressure to have the “perfect” setup, apartment, routine, etc. has to come from SOMETHING. Lets be real YT influencers are getting paid to promote promote spending money, advertising businesses and products. Thats bottom line. Im older so i have my own mind and not easily influenced at all. This is their job. Dont take it personal ladies, pick and choose who you like and enjoy. Nah, I understand what the girl was saying, because I’ve said something similar. I remember seeing a post about a couple at Applebees, and some of the comments were like, “who still goes to Applebees?” PEOPLE, REGULAR PEOPLE still go to Applebees. Social media really has messed up folks heads. Not everyone rich or do the same, or can even afford to do some of the things that influencers or people at a certain place in their lives. The reason some of y'all only see RU-vidrs with this aesthetic because that is what you all are attracted to. There are MANY RU-vidrs that are "being themselves" and not doing all the same things...but because they aren't smoking hoka, cussing, baddies, or being dramatic about the smallest things y'all don't watch them. Your algorithm follows what you watch. I've been making my bed and drinking coffee since before people were vlogging, and my regular self is going to continue to do so.

Chelssss I love you, but let's chat. I think you were missing the TikTokers message a bit. I think she is just trying to advocate for more relatable content for her. Now me personally, I love seeing the aesthetic content, with the matcha coffee, and target runs and all that jazz, but in reality for a typical person, we don't live like that. A lot of people don't have the means or privilege to live that way, so I think that is where she is getting at, trying to say it is okay if you are not having a slow morning everyday where you are able to have the fancy coffee, and soak in the sunlight. Remember, social media is a huge influence on society whether we like it or not, at this rate the aesthetic content can be as harmful as the BBL culture because people will start to feel less than because they cannot achieve such a picture perfect life. Again, I love the aesthetic videos, but that is because I feel like I am emotionally mature enough to know that what I see online isn't real life, but not everyone thinks that way.

Everyone’s day is different. I definitely don’t start my day like the girl on TikTok but I don’t start my day like the typical influencer either. I work a 9-5 job so, my mornings vary depending on how early I want to wake up before work. I may run errands before work or just wait for the weekend. Do what’s best for you. I take some of the aspects I see from influencers and incorporate them into my life but, only if it will make a positive impact. I get what she may have been trying to say but she doesn’t have to start her day that way. No one does. We have choices in life. Do what’s best for YOU.

I disagree, I don’t believe that young woman was projecting at all. Rather, shedding light that a lot of folks are in a identity crisis and have started “mimicking” what they see others do on the internet (whether subconsciously or consciously). Everything is NOT aesthetically pleasing in REAL LIFE. It’s okay to have a realistic everyday life routine. I can’t identify with having very little to do because I am a full time educator and a newbie creator. Although I can agree that many have the same aesthetic I can’t see how having day to day things to do is fake given people buy coffee, take care of their homes, decorate, etc. regularly. I don’t buy matcha everyday. However, I’m grabbing a hot tea or black coffee every morning from Starbucks or Pret because it’s a part of my routine. There are women who have nothing to do like the girl in the video and that’s normal for them and others who have loads, no? Two things can be true at the same time. I don’t think she’s projecting or being jealous. I just feel like all the RU-vid badies follow the same morning routines. I think she’s saying she want to see something else or see some realistic contents. I work from home so I make myself get out the bed and I create a routine that works for me! I’m not running errands everyday because baby if I wanted waste gas I would drive to work lol.
