No Mosaics? Stax boxes? Soul train boxes? Funk Box? I have the tracks you're playing in the background on the J.J. Johnson Complete Columbia Small group sessions on Mosaic. I'm surprised you don't have that as that original album hasn't been reissued much especially on cd.
No, sadly no mosaic box sets. They are so pricey now but boy would I love to have some of them. Most of these I bought in my late teens and early 20s so my musical taste and knowledge was more mainstream as you can tell by these box sets. I had very basic knowledge of Jazz and wasn't familiar with the mosaic boxes back then. Soul and Funk are weak spots in my collection. I enjoy the genres but my focus is more geared toward Jazz and Prog these days.Thanks for watching.

This was awesome, Bill. I didn’t even think about how these would have all been purchased within a specific timeframe. I remember several of these when they came out or a few years after they came out. I had friends that had the Doors box and that first Beach Boys box you showed. Love the design on that Lennon box. And those Miles and Coltrane boxes at the end are sweet looking. The sigh of relief at the end was classic Bill. Cheers, buddy!

My man ,saw your channel on travis 1k,man i love box sets.i remember going to,the Wiz,Ciruit City,etc and the prices were nuts 50-60-70 dollars for some.Well when everybody was starting to buy vinyl again i was finding box sets used for like 15-20 bucks and i bought a lot of them and then on Ebay,and Letgo .I mean im gettinv cd box sets like 5-10 now and i love it ...Nice stuff my man stay well...

Hi there, As soon as I got the notice I said I have to check this video out. My God... I had... a good number of them..... brings back memories but because of lack of space I had to give away. The Clapton was my first one and if I ever get a deal on the new format one.... I may get that one back. I had the Yes one... the King Crimson. My favorite format of box sets is the book format... they are more compact.... and easier to store.... take less space. Incredible how much are tastes are alike. Hi Bill!!! That as awesome collection of box sets,. I have a couple of them (E.Clapton, The Doors). Really like many i have never seen before like the Yes box sets, also i which i grab many of themwhen they came out like the Police one, now they very difficult and expensive to find. Cheers!!
Incredible sets Bill. I mean Yes, KC, The Moody Blues!!! It's like you are inside my head (ha! We already knew we are basically twins). Those Genesis books that pull out... wish more would have done that. I want to sit back and look at this wonderful piece while I listen to the music, but when its attached to the package it makes it hard. The Police set I have, and I love they added Bsides and soundtracks, but they broke up the album flow, boooo! But you closed it out with that wonderful Impulse set, then the Coltrane and Davis?!?! BOOM! THERE IT IS!. Great stuff Bill. All around pieces that capture the essence of these performers, and very thoroughly. Loved every minute of it. Yeah, it was cool to revisit these box sets. I don't have a place for them right now which is why they were in the basement. Actually they are currently on my dining room table much to my wife's chagrin. Be well!
