Cancer cells are covered with a protein called CD47, which acts as a “don’t eat me” signal to the immune system. Stanford researchers developed an anti-CD47 antibody that blocks the CD47 protein, prompting the body's immune system to engulf and devour the cancer cell. #cancer #science #oncology
