It's time for us that have children not to start smoking. If you or your loved one starts smoking, this story needs to get out to them before it's too late.

That is very sad, I am sorry to hear. Smoking is killing more and more people because tobacco companies are making their product more addictive and marketing "trendy" new products like electronic cigarettes (e-cigs, vape, juuls). They are not safer and will eventually lead to disease and/or death. I encourage you to share you story advocate with a local tobacco control coalition in your city

A dear friend of mine got a cancerous lesion on her tongue at 72, even though she never smoked a day in her life, and she suffered terribly the next 2 years until she died at 74 with 6 tumors on her lungs. I don't understand it, but we have so much toxins in the air we breathe too. To my knowledge, she had never been exposed to second hand smoke from anyone in her family, or friends. Might have been mold. Terrible stuff. I smoked for 6 years, and 3 of the 6 were cigars. I recently quit, and hoping I didn't do irreversible damage, and I don't get cancer. Dumbest thing! I wish I never would have started. I thank God everyday I'm still here.

Smoking isn't good. But, please realize not everyone with a lung disease has smoked. Very stimitizing.

Georgia Patrick, I think it could have been more honest, she was diagnosed at age 37 she's 57 or 58 now, that's a great testament to the advancements in Cancer!!! That's 20 years.

@@LucyJazzy85 no it didn’t turn into dreams, it’s been 4 years since I quit smoking and I smoked heavily for just 1.5 years… the cravings are nothing, it’s a joke. Cravings reduce in intensity and frequency very rapidly… and Yes I had some cravings even after 2 years or so… those were just psychological cravings… while many people feel hopeless because of cravings that happen years after quitting, I celebrated the fact that These cravings came once after so long and stayed for just a minute or so, a small price to pay for less risk of cancer…. A craving or two in a year is a joke… I could take on such cravings once a day…

Because of the cancer, she eventually had to get her voice box removed, so instead of leaving her mute, they gave her an artificial voice.

I am so sorry. I have been there. My stepmother and my dad both smoked and they would go through a carton a week between them, sometimes too. I don’t even want to know how much money they poured into cigarettes. My dad later died at 50 from complications from COPD. You are not alone. I just wanted you to know that.
