I have read numerous studies about the efficacy of face masks. Every one I have read makes statements such as face masks "appear to work" at slowing transmission, "seem to," or "probably" work to slow viral spread, but if addressed at l, admit masks won't stop the virus. Moreover, many study authors often take a leap from "seems" and "probably" in their results to "yes, masks work to prevent spread," which is not borne out in their studies. There seems to be a universal acceptance that if a statement is made often enough--"It's proven that masks prevent viral spread"--even if the science doesn't prove it all, it must be true. If the science were definitive, there would not be such a wide divide. If masks and mandates work, why is Ada County, which has had a mandate since June, subject to the ups and downs of the virus? The clusters is Ada County that have not changed in a month, have been the Ada County jail, IDOC, and several assisted living facilities. Those are environments the Central Health District actually have the authority and ability to institute policies that may or may not help. Trying to control the entire rest of the County residents is counterproductive and misguided since CDH cannot control the public at large--or in our private homes, which CDH also cannot control. The problems with protesters will go away, businesses can get back to business, schools can open fully, which means kids at risk at home get an opportunity to get away from toxic homes, stress levels in the public can begin to drop. Dr. Souza said they're seeing a rise in heart attacks and strokes which he wants to attribute to Covid. It's just as likely the extended hyper vigilance engendered by masks, and the subsequent stress are to blame. The hospital administrators just need to figure out what they need to do when they need to do it. I get healthcare professionals are getting fatigued, but if there were less emphasis on doomsday scenarios and the tendency to focus on positives without an equalizing evaluation of the deaths, which are way below where the public is told. I appreciate Representative Blanksma pointing out the public's distrust of the numbers provided by the hospitals. Because of past dire predictions in lethality rates, which never came to pass, these medical administrators have been shown to be dollar oriented, and trying to impress us with their "feelings," are not working with me, at least. Pretty sick of the assumption that face coverings of any kind will prevent transmission (like a crocheted one, or a welding mask with holes drilled in it?), as well as the moralistic attitude that if you've done your homework and cannot find actual science to substantiate these claims, you're a lesser human being. The 18-29 year old age group has, far and away the highest numbers of all the other groups, with very few, if any, hospitalizations, and fewer deaths. Leave the young people alone. I don't trust the "experts," why should they?

This is what has been so extremely frustrating.we cannot get accurate data.I don’t give a crap about how many positives we have if it’s nothing more than a cold or flu! We are having a rise in heart attacks due to the lack of oxygen from face masks! I can’t even wear one for an hour before I start getting dizzy and my oxygen levels drop. And they treat us like we have no say and are brainwashing everyone to force “face coverings” and then the vaccine. These people are elected to represent US! Why won’t they provide basic hospitalization data? I believe this much more wide spread and people don’t even know they are sick and are not getting tested. As for masks. I wish these people would do actual research, there are several studies out showing they are ineffective and it’s common sense. This virus is .5 Microns. And here’s a study pushing the notion masks work by cutting exposure. Problem is the “virus” they were using was 2.5 and 6 microns! That’s a huuuuuge difference compared to the Coronavirus! medicalxpress.com/news/2020-09-virus-masks-covid-.html

@@susieq725 yeah, this Board's job is to parse out real information, which they're attempting to do with their statistical expert. However, actual helpful information, like links to studies that show the heightened risk to obese individuals and those with Type 2 diabetes, and even high blood sugar and metabolic syndrome, with attendant recommendations that people focus on low-glycemic food choices to protect themselves; of course it's as ridiculous to mandate that as it is face masks. And the studies that are showing that virtually everyone who has been hospitalized, tested, died from Covid-19 had low D3 levels, with an attendant recommendation that people check with healthcare providers to see if they shouldn't take a daily supplement of D3. I'll try to find some of those studies again to link, but they all came from peer reviewed medical journals, like JAMA, Biology, Science, Cell. A JAMA article just a week or two ago addressed herd immunity, too. That article suggested that the positives are likely 10 times what testing is showing. Keeping that in mind, the hospitalizations and low death rates are not the cause for panic that our supposed experts would have is believe. I can't wait to vote these people out.

@@tracycurran8434 I agree 100% we are not being told that healthy vitamin D levels resulted in an 89% lower death rate. I have low vitamin D (at 30) even though I spend a lot of time outdoors and in the sun without sun block. It is worrying to say the least. I think EVERYONE should be supplementing their Vitamin D. I take 5000 IU’s daily sublingual because even though I was taking 5000 IU’s in capsule form my D levels did not change. Many of us may have gut issues that inhibit absorption. I have been extremely careful with this virus as I know I am in the higher risk category but most people I know have been carrying on as usual. Mask on at the store but social gatherings without a mask. I still don’t know anyone who has gotten sick with it but my hunch has been that this virus will be far worse on you the second time you are exposed to it for those high risk groups. THEY/WE should be the ones who exceptions are made for, such as shopping when the store opens after cleaning, working from home, financial help if unable to work from home, etc. to force these mandates on the general population does not make sense and is in fact lowering people’s immune system by forcing them to re-breathe their Carbon Monoxide and waste in addition to the detrimental effect of lowered oxygen saturation. I am having a really hard time understanding the logic in their current approach as it is a clear violation of our constitutional rights and I fear they will use it as an excuse for forced vaccines and other totalitarian lockdowns. This virus does have a very low death rate and the fact that all of the 54 studies showing Hydroxychlorequine with Zinc WORKS to kill this virus (if started early) is also highly suspect. I do not want to read too much into “conspiracy theories” but this is beginning to feel like a plan. Watch Event 201 if you want to see where all of this is headed if people do not begin protesting illogical mandates.

When we show up to attend meetings, we are not protesting. We are exercising our rights and freedom to attend public meetings, and not be forced to wear masks against our beliefs or medical conditions, or choice. Period. There is no disruption going on. The CDH staff are disrupting the meeting by attempting to remove public attendees who pay the salaries of the public officials and are exercising rights to be there, per the Constitution. Anything that is otherwise is a violation of open meeting laws, discrimination, and in direct opposition to the First Amendment and peaceful assembly. You can continue to be in opposition to our appearance and rights, or you can stop attempting to remove us and prevent us from participating in the due process of our public assembly rights. No one at CDH was elected via the due process of a Constitutional Republic, which is the foundation upon which our nation was founded.

I would like to see the research showing masks work. I have seen a lot of studies showing they do not work. Especially ineffective are the surgical masks, bandannas, home made cloth, etc. why the push for masks so hard? I don’t understand it. If this virus is 1/1000 the width of a human hair, it’s getting through the face mask on the water vapor of your breath. We either have a serious disease and we should be wearing. N-95 masks at a min. Pushing face masks that are ridiculously ineffective seems bizarre and frankly is giving people a false sense of security. I’ve seen 70 year olds eating at a crowded restaurant where they wore a face mask to their table and took it off. Or shopping at a busy store with nothing more than a surgical mask. If we are having a spike in cases maybe that is because most of us do not know anyone who has been sick with this even though we know a lot of people who have tested positive. And I’m sorry, being at 10 % capacity at a hospital does not seem like an emergency to me at all. High risk individuals should take precautions but to shut down schools is insanity and causes much more harm than it does good, the kids still see each other but now they have food insecurity, inadequate supervision, or parents have to give up their jobs to stay home with them. The psychological stress your actions put on people is tremendous and should not be overlooked. I think the authoritarian approach you are suggesting is not worth it and violates our constitution. Here’s a study on mask use and it’s “benefit” problem is they used a “virus” that was 2.5 microns and 6 microns. The coronavirus is .5! It’s not rocket science people. medicalxpress.com/news/2020-09-virus-masks-covid-.html
