In episode 2 of my CDT thru-hike, I work my way from Lordsburg to Silver City, watching the scenery change as trees gradually appeared again, and enjoying cool sites like abandoned mines and settlements. Fire closed down the CDT through the Black Range north of Silver City, so I hiked the amazing Gila Alternate route. The Gila is full of wildlife, cave dwellings, hot springs, and beautiful towering cliffs. I even managed to get a shot of a decent-sized black bear right next to the river.

The Gila is a magical place. Spent four years exploring the area in a truck camper, hiking and fishing and only scratched the surface. Great video.

Love the Asparagus Hungry Cat! The Gila looks beautiful, but it seems like you've gotta get used to having wet shoes

Definitely a wet feet kinda place my man! Most of the days just crossing the river back and forth. Totally worth it though. I think I crossed the river several hundred times maybe? Definitely didn’t try to keep count :-)

Thanks! I mean, I guess RU-vid decides that to some extent…. I like to make what I like to make - it resonates with some. It’s a hobby for me. I’m glad you are enjoying the content!

Just found your channel. I am enjoying your film making approach very much! These vids deserve alot more views! Love the pace and b roll choices.

Thanks Sherpa Jeff! Please do share the channel and give the videos a like if you are enjoying them - it helps RU-vid recommend them to more people. I make them as a hobby / creative outlet. If I had time to make more it would probably drive the channel views up. Back to working after that CDT hike though so struggling to find time. I have some ideas for a few videos this summer, but I only like to release things I think will have some impact (e.g. no “noise”). We’ll see how those shape up! Thanks for watching and dropping the comment.

@@UnfetteredFootsteps yeah really my comment about views was just a compliment on quality. Driving YT numbers isn't what its about. The creative process is its own reward for sure. Glad I have found them and wish I had more reach...I always like the vids. All the best.

@@sherpajeff yes! Agreed! I love putting my own spin on my adventures and memories. Nice to have as I get older and RU-vid has been a wonderful way for me to better share these bigger trips and my passions with friends and family (and others out there who may be interested, as a side benefit).

OK, here's something that's way off-topic. You're mostly clean-shaven in your videos, I've struggled with this in some of my longish hikes and haven't settled on a reasonable shaving system. What do you do? What works for you and doesn't? BTW, thanks for putting this together, gorgeous as usual.

I didn’t shave on my AT hike. It was fun but not a great look for me now with my patchy 45 year old neck fluff. I just occasionally shave with a pack of disposable razors in town ($2). I’ll use one and leave the rest in a hiker box, if available, or give to motel staff for others to have. I don’t shave at every town stop - just when I have the east opportunity. Glad you like the videos!
