My husband was abused physically and had cancer as a child, when i met him he stuttered so bad he could barely state his name. Today he speaks clearly, is cancer free, and a great father to both our children. The victory belongs to Jesus!!

I am 62 years old and have been married for 33 years. I asked God what to pray for during the first 3 days of February. I just realized that it will be Valentine's Day month. This is the second podcast that I have watched but did not search for about being a godly wife. Thank you Father for answering my prayer request. Thank you ladies for blessing me with this podcast. Blessings to you and your marriage. Something that I do every February for the last 20 years is everyday starting Feb 1, I put a love note in one of his pockets or lunch bag sprayed with his favorite perfume. The last week each note become more intimate than the day before😉.

I feel so many Christians leave out what The Scriptures say about marriage & instead follow advice from psychological gurus. Even if we take counsel, The Scriptures say to seek Biblical Godley counsel. And not counsel from the world.

Why can't it be both. God will place people on this earth 🌎 to help you too. Yes we seek Godly counsel but if God is telling us to get help we shouldn't abandon it. It's good to haven an open mind (even as a Christian)

I'm a Pastor and my husband is an Elder in our local church. He tends to get defensive when I ask to pray for us or about where he is in his walk with the Lord. This often causes hurt and pain, which in turn causes separation in our relationship.

@@deniseslaughter1965That's beautiful that you came to that conclusion and were obedient. My grandfather told me the same thing pertaining to my son. "Nagging"him will not lead him to Christ. They come when it's their time and we just have to continue to intercede on their behalf. I hope things are better! Blessings to you and your husband😊

Respect is admiration for someone based on their actions. Love is adoration for someone based on who they are. As Dr. Leslie said, everyone needs both love and respect, but God’s order shows us what roles we play in a marriage in Ephesians 5:22-33. The husband follows the Lord and acts on God’s behalf, while the wife is a display of God’s character to her husband, her family and to all those who interact with them. She is her husband’s crown.
@glowithealth4823
@glowithealth4823 5 месяцев назад
Wow, I love that definition of respect and love!!!! It is so true. Thank you for this comment! ☺️ How special, as a woman, to be your husband's crown! Implying that he is the king (or head) of your home, but the wife is the crown for his head. I know the meaning is so much deeper than my simple explanation, but I just love how God designed marriage so beautifully. Ultimately, for it to be a beautiful reflection of how Christ loves the church 🥰
@NotUntoUs
@NotUntoUs 4 месяца назад
Awesome message, although I’d argue with what Leslie said “we can complain to God (about our spouse)”. If you read the Old Testament, you see clearly that complaining/grumbling/murmuring absolutely enrages God! Rather than complaining, it is important to come to God with a spirit of humility, asking Him to give you wisdom, and asking Him to guide you in your actions, in spite of our husband’s actions.

6 years, physical, spiritual, emotional abuse in the presence of our toddler. Both believers and been to 7 counselors Christian and nothing changes. I am tired, weary, and hurt, and unsafe. I think when these episodes come, and I love Better Together, we cannot always assume both spouses are coming with a submitted heart to the marriage. I know this is not the motive of this episode but 😢 some of us are dying in marriages in every aspect of life just because we think women always are looking for a girlfriend in their husband. Hopefully, even in brokenness a wife could feel safe and not have to fight to ensure peace, reigns. I was a joyful single but everyday hearing putndowns and secrets and money hiding - marriage gets old!

Ma’am have you tried interceding for your marriage. Also check you and your husband’s foundations. On my mom’s side of the family no one stayed married and I thought it was normal. I got married and I was depressed and contemplated divorce on many occasions. When I truly surrendered to God, the Holy Spirit showed me that I needed to intercede as a consecrated vessel to him. Most times our prayers are not answered because we are bitter and unforgiving. When you forgive your husband and let go of every hurt that anyone has ever done to you, God will take it up and restore your home. Remember that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal.

This was lovely. I notice the word 'magic and 'magical' has seeped into our language in the body of Christ as normal. It affirms certain things in our children that it should not. I want to always point that out so we catch it. My kids catch themselves and say 'Miraculous' because the power of life and death are in our tongues. Myles Monroe made a statement 'The enemy changes the language right before the take over'. I pray this post helps. I love this broadcast. ❤

Thank you, ladies! The takeaways: 1) Communication is better than fumbling your way to a solution 2) Prayer helps us to gain the right perspective in relation to our partners and the situations we encounter in marriage 3) Don't try and make your partner fill a void that only God can fill 4) Men crave respect like women crave shoes 😜😆 Just kidding 😜 Like women crave loooove 🥰 I know these things, but I think it's valuable to remind oneself often. I plan to continue learning how to be a great wifey, even after I get married. Especially when it comes to a relationship that is meant to weather all of life's joys and storms, yet come out stronger. As the time for 💍 approaches, I'm becoming more aware of the practical input needed to turn romance into an everlasting, satisfying, and joyful commitment ☺️🥰

My husband is a wonderful father but not a great partner. He is not Christian, neither was I when we met 13 years ago. He loves our daughters and is so loving and gentle with them. With me, he can go for years without intimacy and laughs in my face when I express that I need his help with keeping our home (we both work) and he is not very emotionally intelligent. His parents also sent hatemail about me 10 years ago, and he never stood up for me. He would go and visit them without me. This killed my respect for him. I feel so ugly and unwanted.

Thank you for sharing your insights ladies. The reminder about perspective and taking it to the Lord in prayer is very important and timely as these are areas I had sometimes slipped up. However, I feel it's pertinent to share a little of my story here for the wife who needs to take this a bit deeper. I married my husband just over 30 years ago according to the will of God. We have 4 grown children who are saved having been raised to understand the gospel of salvation. Last year our firstborn and only son got married and my husband and his side of the family did not show up except his niece. His reason was our son did not go about things the right way (although, his words and actions appeared to confirm it was our son's choice of wife that he didn't like). Our son has never brought home a girl before and his wife is the only one he's introduced, she is also saved and from a Christian family. My husband initially raised issues about how things should be done culturally. He's a big fan of tradition, which I am not, especially where it contradicts the word of God. However, he did not provide any instructions on what we were to do, only criticisms of attempts to do things the right way by our son, myself, my extended family and the bride's family. Our Pastors and church leaders were called in to help resolve the matter early on. My mum and siblings also attempted to uncover any issues that could be corrected. However, all my husband said was he and his family had made a decision not to have anything to do with the marriage and they were sticking to it. After a series of meetings with the Pastors alone and with me present, he stopped attending church and taking the calls of all the well-meaning members. Early on it was hard to see his perspective as he was accorded the respect that was required, even now trying very hard, but no clear perspective insight. I ended up attending our son's wedding both registry, traditional and destination without my husband. Our son had apologised for where he had erred very early on even after his dad had made his then-fiancee cry. Even after the wedding, our daughter-in-law has shown herself to be a godly, forgiving woman and a wonderful addition to our family. Our son gave a short and precious speech about a lesson he had learnt from his dad growing up at his wedding reception and I couldn't have been prouder of the young man we raised. I say all this to let other wives know, that sometimes it's a real challenge to respect a husband who has clearly gone against God and godly counsel. Ultimately even in marriage, our allegiance is to God. What kept going through my mind during all of this was the outcome of the stories of Abigal and Nabal and Ananias and Sapphira. If I had any indication in my spirit that my son was doing it all wrong, I wouldn't have supported my son and daughter-in-law. I can tell you and it is confirmed by attendees even from the registry coordinators, that the registry was a joyous occasion. God also made the traditional wedding a grand and the destination a glorious affair. I'm not bitter or resentful, because I fully understand I can only control my own actions and reactions. I can tell you a lot of praying and fasting went into the preparation of our son's marriage and to God alone be the glory that the devil's plan failed because I had his grace and all this prayer support. Also, because God said vengeance is mine and he will repay, so it's up to Him to deal with the matter his way and get the glory.

So, I stumbled across this and decided to go ahead and watch, even though it’s geared for women. Women commenting about what it takes for a good marriage. From women. I’m 62 and been married for going on 41 years. Some of the comments from these women are nice but not quite accurate without the man’s point of view in all this. I’m a huge fan of CeCe, but I’m not familiar with the other women in the panel except for the Crouch name.

It’s true. Our identity is in Christ and Christ alone. Ignore the outside influences and hold to the promises of Jesus Christ. Opinions doesn’t shape marriages. It’s the willingness of two people to “meet” each other in order to fulfill your God given duty all round. Don’t allow anyone else to dictate the principles of your marriage. What goes for one doesn’t go for all because every situation is different

My parents are divorced. My mom listened to the bible and the Christian ways in marriage. But my father belittled her and treated her terriblely. My mom did all the work in her marriage. He abused my mom, my siblings and myself. When supporting fathers who abuse their children, I see damgage and pain for the the wife and the child. I am not trying to force this on you. Please consider the roles in marriage. It is not all perfect and equal.

Why is it, that religious people think. That woman can't be called by the Lord into Ministry? You ladies should talk about this subject, in a future video!! Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew or Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither MALE or FEMALE, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

It is good to remember, with all relationships, especially when we are talking to other people about Jesus and sharing His Gospel.

It's funny how feminism has subtily entered the body. Your Husband is the representation of Christ in the home, the prophet and priest the leader. The woman's job is as help meet. God gives the man the vision for the family and his wife is to use her gifts to "help meet" the vision. The Husband is. NOT to follow the vision of his wife.The woman was made for the man not the other way around. Like CC initially said let's stick to the word and stop letting the world (feminism) enter the body. Your role is to obey your Husband in ALL things. The Most High NEVER said it's a partnership, it is a hierarchy, The man is not Christ's partner he should be obedient to Christ, and Christ is obedient to Yah! It's called order!
