Cecilia Bartoli, Nikolaus Harnoncourt Concentus Musicus Wien Voi avete un cor fedele Vado, ma dove? Oh Dei!
Cecelia has the voice, she has the look, she has the intelligence to execute the music of Mozart with perfection. She has it all. I'm sure Mozart would be proud. After hearing this performance I was overtaken with emotion to know that there are people in the world that dedicate their lives to this greatest of art forms. Brava Cecilia and Bravo Mozart! And lets not forget Maestro Harnoncourt a magnificent conductor for the ages!
WOW! Singing is a 'whole body experience' with Cecilia Bartoli. With her superb technique she is able to express a full range of emotions from joy to desperation ; love to anger. We never missed a Barttoli cencert in London for years and combined with the great Nikolaus Harnencourt. This concert is an amazing gift. Thank you TouTube.
Dear Ray Black, you speak from my heart, I feel the same, everything about this woman is just wonderful, voice, charisma, true happiness, character and she is also beautiful. This combination is rarely or never found. Always delight my heart again, I can listen to it and watch it for hours :-)
This is addictive. Apart from the matchless beauty of her voice and her gift in communicating the text, the sheer, unaffected joy in her performance is totally infectious. This personality always comes across in more live performances I have seen than I can count, and explains why she is - rightly - one of the most beloved singers in living memory.
I first heard Cecilia in University of California Berkeley Music Department's small recital hall in 1990 when she was a complete unknown. A true 'star is born' experience. The following year she moved to the large Zellerbach Hall on campus and it was a hot ticket to get! The best part of each concert was her 6, 7 encores. People just didn't want her to leave it was insane. I can't think of ONE opera singer today in 2020 who has that kind of cachet and charisma with the public.
Music 🎶 To My Hart And Ears ! ❤️❤️❤️ She’s My Absolutely Best Opera Singer. Can’t Stop Listening And Enjoy To Her Music As First Soprano. And Can’t Help Me But Sometimes I Even Sing To Her Songs. Totaly Love ❤️ Her And Her Music ! So Thank You So Wounderful Much ! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beautifully presented... Not just the incredible voice, but Cecilia plays the part in her presence.. Never have l enjoyed so much talent.. All kids should just listen to this and learn the talent...that can be achieved... Relaxing and comforting music...
Cecilia Bartoli is wonderful. Her control is outstanding. I would love to hear her live. She is a very cordial person. Her mom was n opera singer in Italy. When Cecilia was a tike, 4 or 5 years, she could already sing well.
I. Voi avete un cor fedele - 01:07 II. Vado, ma dove? Oh Dei! - 08:54 III. Symphony № 38 (Prague) I. Adagio-Allegro - 39:57 II. Andante - 58:43 III. Finale (Presto) - 01:09:26
Mozart was very gentle to feminine voice - at the time most were castrati.... BUT Cecilia makes it incredibly artistic, personal and a genius at work. She is something that will NEVER fade away (at least while RU-vid exists).
Cecilia brings tears to my eyes by the consummate beauty, elegance and sheer mastery of her preformance. My eternal gratitude goes to Mozart for composing such beautiful music. And last but not least, thanks to Nicholas Harnoncourt and the Orchestra for the sheer spiritual dimension of their performance.
When weary I turn on a record of this lovely lady and all is well in my world. To see a live performance has been a dream of mine since I first came upon her recordings so many years ago. Her voice is perfection.
I’m enjoying the listening of her concerts so much that I wish I could listen to her live concerts. There is so much talent and preparation that makes Cecilia one of a kind opera singers. Congratulations diva! Bravo 👏
For the combination of beauty of voice, expressiveness in communicating the text, and just the evident joy in the performing at such a level, of perfection, for me 4.03-7.57 is as good as it gets. Perhaps, the finest exhibition of concert singing I've heard.
How fortunate to be alive at this moment in time to be able to experience such wonderful performers, and performances via RU-vid and the internet without having to travel from our own hearths. A wonderful saving in both time and money, which may not have otherwise been able to achieve, nor afford.
Cecilia carries within herself all the beauty, the accomplishments of a great Italian culture that her superbly trained voice, deep feelings and histrionic skills and temperament render true justice. Brava Cecilia ! Bravissima ! You honor all the great geniuses of bel canto living in your heart. pjmelian
Here is some background on the first aria so masterfully sung by the great Cecilia Bartoli & accompanied so brilliantly by the great Nicklaus Harnoncourt - bravissimi to both of these great artist-interpreters of the great Mozart ! Mozart remain’d in Salzburg for the rest of 1775 after his return from Munich in March from a successful run of his opera buffa ‘La finta Giardiniera’ (The Pretended Garden Maid) - and in October / November of that year a visiting Italian Opera troupe passing through Salzburg were performing Galuppi’s Le Nozze di Dorina (Premiered in Venice in 1755, with an original Libretto by Carlo Goldoni -later adapted into Sarti’s 1786 masterpiece Fra I due Litiganti, a snippet of which was quoted in the Final Banquet Scene in Act 2 of D: Giovanni in 1787) and M. was approach’d by the soprano singing the part of the young maid ‘Dorina’ for a new aria to insert into Act 2 scene vii where Dorina has to tell Count Belfiore’s steward (‘Tritta’) that she is already engag’d to marry Masotto, the Count’s steward. Mozart’s two part aria (‘Voi avete un cor fidele’ K. 217 (= K. 246b) was completed on 26 October 1775-and represents quite an advance in musical competence & operatic nuance over La Finta Giardiniera - which Opera could be consider’d his ‘graduation into maturity as an opera composer...’ Here is a rough prose Translation of the inserted Italian poetic text to Act 2 scene vii (added possibly by the Salzburg court poet Varesco who provided Mozart with Libretti for Idomoneo in 1780/1781 & L’Oca del Cairo in 1782/3) DORINA (Le Nozze di Dorina, Act 2 scene vii) Aria (Andantino grazioso - Allegro) in G-major ‘Tho’ your heart may be as faithful as the most ardent of lovers I am, alas, already promis’d to marry another (Masotto); So now, what will you do about it now? Duel it out with him ? I mean, really, there is no other option at this point other than to remain faithful on the sidelines-and for what ? Ah, I don’t believe you would do that for a moment-for I can well foresee (tho’ you have not yet broken my heart) that it is as clear you do not give me any reason to believe that you would ever take up arms to win my love !’
I have seen Cecilia perform in over 50 performances in 9 different countries, five of which I was visiting specifically to watch her perform. I attended my first opera in 1958 (Lakme) and have only rarely taken the time to see the singers in recital. Pavarotti, Sills, Dessay, Hampson, and Bartoli. Unfortunately, her aversion to flying limits her US appearances. I say unfortunately because it is becoming quite expensive to travel to Europe (mostly Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) to see her. I'll skip lunch, if need be.
