I was worried "I Did it My Way" was going to be her final SNL appearance. So glad she came back for the new season, but if that had been her exit, what a way to go.
Her versatility is amazing. Cathy Anne, the girl at a party, Pirro, the former pornstar, and everything she does are insanly good characters/parodies. Absolute love for her and her work
i love kate and aidy but in every character they play I see them, especially kate - there's always something of her, even her voice is practically the same. Cecily legit transforms from the girl u wish u hadn't started a conversation with to a crackhead to gemma doing a northern accent and u wouldn't say they're the same person
Finally someone who expresses *exactly* how I feel about Cecily's talent. I wholeheartedly agree 100%. Aidy and Kate are superb comedians but Cecily is a really versatile and amazing actress, basically a chameleon *on top of that* . She's one of my favourite cast members and wished she had a really strong career in the film industry. I frequently watch movies and tv shows and say to myself: "Yeah, not bad, but Cecily would've absolutely disappeared in that role and nailed it." What a talent!
i also recommend you guys watch "Blue River Dog Food". The clips from it kept getting copyrighted, but the world needs to see her range as an actress lmao.
Cecily herself had an abortion at that age . She is a true comedian: seeing into her loved experience- no matter how painful - and making us laugh and think at the same time.
I think every generation (around 5-10 seasons) of SNL had one or two women who stood out as more than a comedian, but as an actress who is extremely funny. Women like Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are HILARIOUS, but they either play up the character, or are more cartoonish, which is great, but not in the same league as I mentioned before. Gilda Radner, Jan Hooks, Ana Gasteyer, Molly Shannon, Tina Fey Cecily Strong sits comfortably with these amazing talents.
