did some running around and got to check out one of the mills we sell too. first time seeing this style of headrig in person and was impressed . im sure it could g faster but it was a new sawyer learning and he was slower.

small operation but looks petty awesome to have a turner of it we have 6 football fields of logs in my sawmill and have 6 movers full of logs to have on the ground now 5 years of sawing only in hand

Back in the early1990's a basic 50 hp electric 6" Sanborn Mini-Max could be bought for $75,000. Blades cost $300. They were designed for large diameter Pine , but with some modifications it worked on Hardwood.

Still seems expensive for a blade in the 90s but guess it does have teeth on both sides.

I have seen videos of them but never knew there was one around us. Had a comment saying they are poplar out in BC

We saw alot of cedar logs with our woodmizer but not that much. It Would be fun to work at that sawmill. We cut Roughly 100 cords cedar in a year plus 100 MBF of pine and hardwoods. White Cedar makes beautiful tongue and groove and easy on blades and the molder. We sell to alot of people building garden boxes, saunas, bird houses, and contractors . Even people who wanted cedar decking

My guess was there was 800 to 1000cord there but just a guess and I have been known to be wrong haha. It makes some nice lumber and works great for everything you mentioned. I might be building a outdoor shower at the cottage with it this summer

Glad it didn't bother ya. Hard ti stop thr wind noise without a mic and fuzzy. This video was almost all noise haha hearing the mill run is pretty cool

With a skilled operator, those bidirectional bandsaw head rigs really produce the lumber. A bit more seat time and that operator will be chewing through the logs. I am surprised this one doesn't have a laser on it for the cut line.

It does have a laser. It was green and the camera might not have picked it up. I have seen some video of these running and they were quick.

I think it's been around for a year or so. It's north of Mount forest. They will buy all the cedar we can give them. (As of right now)

Yard is pretty empty but we will hopefully moving from this cedar job to a ash job and getting some wood to our yard. Hopefully they don't post half load early

Thanks Dan. Yard is looking pretty bare. Hopefully start into a ash bush this week and get some firewood move. Next to jobs are hardwood with lots of firewood

@@SkidderKev it took some sorting the different references to Sanborn. Kept getting something about a farm that had a similar name that has a sawmill and grist mill on it. Anyway that mill puts me in the mind of a Clearman head rig. Loved the video thank you for sharing it.
