Good morning, Kev!! You mentioned the unit being a 2 speed. What speed are you operating it in during the video? Definitely do a lot of trail maintenance in a hurry with this thing. I like how it doesnt hang out as far as the mowers on the front and would make getting in tight spots much easier! Thanks for sharing...👍
It's a variable 2 speed so my understanding is it trying to keep optimal power going to the rotor. The mulcher makes a great selling point when doing cedar cause there is so much debris left over. Just adds more service we can provide
Good morning Kev I had a guy do this at the beginning of the year. Because we had such a late snowfall this year he offered a good price just to keep working.. I had a little over an acre I had cleared about 12 or 13 years ago and I let it get away from me.. The brush and trees over took it.. You get the picture. Hahahaha Then I had him do a few trails I had started and expanded them for me.. It was a regular machine not a skid steer. Thing was a beast.. I couldn’t believe just how big of stuff he ground down to nothing.. I have sense the used my tractor and landscape rake and cleaned it all up and hauled it away.. I still am impressed in the short time It took him.. about 7 hours.. Thanks for sharing this.. It is so satisfying to watch. 😁 Cheers
The teeth have done well here so far but it's limestone mostly. I would be more careful around granite and maybe put the runners down to try to keep it higher out of the rock
Our local county highway dept. started using this type of set up to keep roadsides growth pushed back several years ago. Prior to that it was all done with chainsaws, polesaws and wood chippers. Every summer they had several emergency room runs and workmans comp cases from twisted ankles/knees, saw cuts, heat exhaustion, poison ivy/oak, bee stings and etc. They originally thought the labor cost savings would soon pay for these machines but found out. It was less insurance claims that helped their annual insurance rates that was the biggest savings!👍👍
I love watching that machine 😍 Can't wait to see the next video you mentioned. I'm not in the logging business but I can see the benefits of this machine for cleanup and trail building. Happy Father's Day
See Andrew post a new bundle split wedge last wk 😊. Probably work great if your into bundles SALE . Be a wedge for Chris in the woodyard is like 👍 his firewood 🪵 like kindling because it burn faster for SALE his firewood 🪵. You know kev a old logger trick cut small and it burn 🔥 fast like 👍 lighting a match lol 😊. STICK on the ICE 🧊, SAW in the WOOD 🪵 and RUBBER on the ROAD . 😊
Sure hard to get a rhythm going with that much difference in log diameters. Why does he set the logs at the end instead of closer to the cab? You have to move em all forward further. Is it just easier with skidder fork spacing? Have a great weekend, and thanks for the 48c action!👍
Ya its easier to load with the forks. the guy running the machine should be on the ball and getting the next one on the deck right behind the one we are processing haha
The 48C certainly likes the bigger logs, but that new splitting chamber allows the smaller logs to be split. You are right though...that one small round really hated you! Thanks for the great video - always great to see the 48C in action!
So, that red hose you fed down in there from the top, are you blowing it out with air or water? Also, is that the sound of a shop vac sucking from the bottom hole?
Ya the red line is a air line and that is a shop vac. It's just sucking out everything that comes out of it. I have seen people us water to wash it out too.
Good day Kevin. So is this from MTB on Powel road or from Boomer point? Yes sawmill seem to have a lot of residue left over. Make good mulch U guys should be a dealer! Ths
