Really enjoy the high powered fire builds… unfortunate there was a time limit. I do not enjoy the memories of playing Legacy Timed tournaments especially when you know victory is close… however you get a draw. Same type of sentiment here if the players think they have a game at hand and run out of time … unfortunate for who would truly deserve the win outright bro

How does a draw game effect how the tournament progresses? I imagine with the amount of interaction featured in Cedh games that going to time could be a frequent possibility.

If they use a point system, then you would likely get 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss, though since the one guy scooped, im sure that would count as a loss and the other two get one point.

In this case any players still in the game received 1 point for the Draw. If there was a winner, he would receive 3 points and everyone else 0.

Can someone explain to me why the players agreed to a draw? I missed something.

This was a round of 75minutes in a tournament. Time was called in the last player's turn, so it was the last turn being played. When he would pass the turn the game would end, so he would win or draw.

I don't like the time rule. Cedh games are usually fast enough. So, do the players that are eliminated during the game gain points?

In this tournament the players eliminated received no points, but it is something they are pondering about, as in the Tier1Con it was different, if there were players eliminated during the match but it ended in a Draw, then everyone is considered to have Drawn. For a 5 round tournament held in one day you can't not have timed rounds unfortunately :(

@@SplitSecond can't time rule use on player then. like if you want 1 hr game each have 15 min to use on their turn and if opponent cast spell timer go to player next to him in order so if they don't said pass priority they loss their time when player who use all of his time then instant lose the game.

@@MrAponly it is more complicated than that, cause the timer should be stopped each time you pass priority and resumed each time you gain priority. Imagine the mess in a counterspell war:)

We would suggest you to read the primer Bard Rock Cafe's Yisan list that you can find in the cEDH DB, it requires quite a specific setup, but other than being hate for Thoracle it can be used in these niche scenarios :)

How in the world does this game ends in a draw when Miguel scoops??? I mean... there is still two players left! Tiago and Baal.

The term "scooping" here was used to mention he gives up trying to combo, as he can't go off, and passes the turn, resulting in a draw between the 3 players.

Misplay on the Urza's Saga fetch, you can tap it for a colorless that can be used main phase the turn it's sacked.

He did float mana, despite us not mentioning in the narration, you can noticed this if you count the mana as he casts things. He uses the floating mana to cast his Fabricate :)

This was recorded during a tournament, and there was a time limit, so no one actually won. Most every other video are untimed recordings with players from the channel, so they have winners always :)

In the format of the tournament they were in, once time is called, the game ends in a draw if no player has won by the end of the current turn.

The one Commander tournament I could find and it has the lame time limit. Please do one without that.

Different tournaments with different rules regarding time were done, but have in mind that we are talking about 60+ people tournaments where you need 4 to 5 rounds plus top 16 (semi-finals) and finals, so it's 6 to 7 rounds in one single day (back in the day). It's a lot to be played and we it wasn't just possible to have no time limit. For the finals it was intended not to have time limit, but in this one the place where it was being held simply closed and we had to wrap it up, unfortunately.
