Ceefax in vision on Christmas Eve 1982. The music jumps (a lot) because the pages took ages to cycle. It was easier (and cheaper at £20 for a VHS tape) to grab the pages and forget the music
Ah...brings back great memories of a far gone age when things were so much more simpler and enjoyment was so much higher,..great fun times, sadly gone forever
I just adore this kind of archive..now someone sat rec this on Xmas Eve would be a nostalgic person. I've done this but sadly my recordings were on digital dvd or HDD and all broke or unfinalised. Sadly I have nothing this old. But I wonder if when they sat rec this that 1982 morning they thought peep be watching this with great joy in 2022...obv not..lol
Omg thankyou so so much...how the hell u find this...I was just thinking about how at Xmas I used to love ceefax and would look at the advent calendar for the new window reveal..right up to Xmas morning...It was very special ceefax..like having a little computer ..this is bloody amazing.
The Christmas ident was only shown over 3 days then. So it was a case of setting the video recorder in the hope the ident would appear….of course - unlike now - you couldn’t delete all the times it didn’t appear.
Actually the 3rd BBC Christmas tape from 1976 Joy To The World first debuted on BBC1 Monday 13th December 1976 and last played on Christmas Eve Sunday 24th December 1995.
@@Alola_Hanna-Barbera_TMS_Fan they pinched the idea from films. But MGM, Universal, etc still have logos/idents developed from an original idea. Now it’s just like getting a carrier bag with Tesco written on it
