Lived and studied in Bulgaria from 2005 to 2013. This track just brings me back, its atmosphere, melody (I don't know what else to say) perfectly match my experience. Thank you very much the creator (as well as the brother of Squarepusher) of this masterpiece! Many sincere gratitudes as well as thanks and best wishes!
PigShadowKan In my head, it was Pusher who did the camera work for this. "Alright Tom, give us a hand will you? I've got this lush idea for a video. Let me grab my stuffed parrot for a sec..."
@@ivandevilliers5741 Heh, there's not much to enlighten about. 'Tis a mostly subjective appreciation my generation shares. The vid is actually quite funny and evocative of the Mediterranean countries tourist boom from the 60s onwards, mostly low-brow and trashy, led by a horde of Englishmen (other nationalities too) whose candid imagery is masterfully portrayed by Andy. Reality, however, was different for those of us who were born and raised in such places. Lurid, absurd, sometimes grotesque memories come to mind. (I'm talking largely about Spain, Italy and Greece.)
Just booked my flight on a DC10 flying out from London Airport and we're promised a parachute each in case of catastrophic engine failure over the Costa Del Sol. At the very least we get a straw donkey as compensation. You ain't gonna get better than that! Cheers Ceephax...
When things get near 303s or other vintage analog gear they become acid whatever-they-ares. For example if I were to plonk a 303 down on my couch, it would be an "acid couch". Put a 303 on a 303 and you get acid acid, or meta-acid.
Acid refers to genre of music. It is a style like Pop, House, or Drum and Bass etc. It is categorised by the use of a TB 303 to produce the sounds. Ceephax uses one (or more) to compose the majorioty of his tracks hence he always adds acid to the titles of his tracks/albums.
Epic brilliant work 100% genious. The track is amazing, really Mediterranean Acid and the video is equally as good and humorous in a way. Thank you!! :D
0:52 Andy is in his bedroom, in front of a greenscreen, pretending to point at somebody he recognises but who isn't really there, at a gig that isn't happening.
Andy you are the best! I am so sorry about how I ran up at you after opening for you at a dark underground club in Toronto and attempted to sing this at you and then you ran away scared! So sorry!
"My favourite artist at the moment is Ceephax Acid Crew. It’s Andy Jenkinson, Tom Jenkinson’s brother. It’s fucking wicked. It’s funny because if people ask me „So, who’s going to be the next big star of electronic music?“, I always say him. But he only does a new track like every three months or so. I’m his biggest fan and I’m always raving upfront at all his gigs." - Aphex Twin in one of his interviews from 2000s
