Celebrating 57th Birthday at Big Bear Lake - Thrift Store Clothing Haul & Easy Mexican Food Dinner 

Hello & Welcome to Frau Holle Cottage.
So glad you're here for a visit! My name is Calypso and my husband Gus and I would love to welcome you to our little home/cottage in Southern California. We are nestled at the foothills of a small mountain range, and we love it here. We have lived here for almost 2 years this June. We love our home/cottage so much, that we decided to give it a name. We settled on the name of Frau Holle Cottage after German Goddess of Winter. You see.....our first Winter here at Frau Holle Cottage was Magical. We received 3 or 4 days of snow, and everyone said that they had not seen that much snow in 20 years in town. It does snow here but it usually melts quickly. I was thrilled because I adore the season of Winter because for us living in Southern California, snow is a treat.....unless of course you live in the upper mountain communities.

===In today's video I will be taking you along on our little trip to Big Bear. Big Bear Lake is a very popular mountain destination here in Southern California. In the Summer months, people come from miles away to beat the heat. In the Winter months, it is a popular Skiing destination. My favorite part of the day was looking at the fun shops.
The next day - Gus and I just piddled around at one of our local Thrift Shops. I got lucky and found some awesome bargains and some great tops for Summer and Fall.
After a nice day, I decided to make an easy dinner called Picadillo. Gus loves it. It's a traditional Mexican dinner. I don't hardly eat red meat but that's ok. I made myself some Cheese and Poblano Chile Rolled Tacos with some homemade fresh salsa.
