She had such an incredible presence on stage. Whether as the focal point in any moment or in the background of the ensemble… I couldn’t take my eyes off of Christine McVie. It wasn’t ‘flash’ or any sort of ‘front man’ thing. Honestly I can’t adequately describe it. But it was impossible to not notice & feel. The closest I guess I can come to it is - an almost palpable serenity.

I'm so glad you're doing a tribute episode for Christine McVie. Fleetwood Mac is, without question, one of my favorite bands of all-time. While Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham dominated the publicity from the media, Chistine was really the heart and soul of the group. She wrote and sang lead on so many of Fleetwood Mac's best and most classic songs From the 70's through the 80's, they had a great 5 consecutive album stretch with Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, Tusk, Mirage, and Tango In The Night with too many terrific songs to name. She was one of the greats and will be very much missed.

She was a steady presence in Fleetwood Mac and had a great sense of melody to go with her talented vocal and songwriting skills. She preferred to stay on the side of the stage, but her songs said it all. You Make Loving Fun is one of the best songs of the '70s and takes me back to being a kid in the late '70s, hearing FM, Eagles, CSN, Bee Gees and Steely Dan. Also, although I think Tango has its flaws, as a 14 year-old, I was entranced enough by Little Lies (song and video) to buy it in the Fall of '87. In the same way that Brian Wilson would play "Be My Baby" over and over again, that was me and "Little Lies" in 1987. Great song and I feel lucky to have seen Fleetwood Mac on the reunion tour at MSG in October 2014. The music will live on!

The quality of her voice , her sublime skill at playing piano and her song craft all came together to enrapture and lift my young spirit with a new sublime awareness of life , of myself. She ended the night with Songbird -( "And the songbirds are singing, like they know the score. And I love you, I love you, I love you, like never before. And I wish you all the love in the world. But most of all, I wish it from myself.") And as she ended the song at that point , an audience member shouted " we love you Christie " And the audience cheered. My memory of a beautiful soul who shared her gift that I still hold # RIP Christie

I would call her misty-voiced. I was first introduced to Christine McVie when she sang “Over My Head,” on the radio. I’d heard of Fleetwood Mac from radio ads when they played at The Cellar Door, here in DC. She had the best voice of the group, and she’ll be missed. Edit: I forgot to say that FM is the only group I ever saw in concert more than once, 79 and 2003 and the 03 concert sounded better than the 79, if you can believe that.

I AGREE! Check out Nicky Holland. She had songs in the film "My Best Friend's Wedding". She also recorded and toured with Tears For Fears as a background singer and keyboard player. Nicky Holland has recorded 2 or 3 albums to my knowledge. The self titled debut is great. "Ladykiller" the single was my introduction to her solo work.

"This One Hurts..." Amen to that! For some reason, McVie's death hit me even harder that Eddie Van Halen's and Neal Peart's. Only Freddie Mercury's was as devastating. I only got to see her once, a few years ago w/ Lindsey Buckingham. What a magical night!

I still remember the moment I heard Songbird when I was 17. One of the only moments a song has ever grabbed me like that. 35 years ago driving to Estes Park, CO. I was a hair metal band fan and it just stunned me. I asked my cousin who it was. He said "Christine McVie from Fleetwood Mac". I thought to myself "ok, I like Fleetwood Mac now"

You know, everyone talks about Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham as vocalists (and they have some great performances), but first you find out that Christine McVie also sang lead vocals, and then you realize that she sang them on some of their greatest songs. Her voice is just the most beautiful alto in popular music, just utterly pure.

I just realized that my favorite singer in Fleetwood Mac was Christine. The opening to Little Lies has been stuck in my head for as long as I can remember. It was not words alone but how she sang and conveyed them. If I could turn the page In time, then I'd rearrange just a day or two Close my, Close my, Close my eyes But I couldn't find a way So I'll settle for one day to believe in you Tell me, Tell me, Tell me lies RIP Legend

You can take me to paradise.....my God that voice! I'm pretty sure that was my reaction the first time I heard Christine's voice. I saw the news feed on my phone and just from the headline I knew. This may be the saddest I ever felt about a musician passing. Funny though that I thought Perfect was a stage name or a record company creation and not her real name. It took me this long and her passing to learn this. Thank you Professor; your eloquence was befitting this wonderful person and artist.
