I try to wear sparkly earrings and fun colors, especially if I am sad or things are tough. I can’t drink alcohol or eat waffles, but I sometimes read a whole book in a day, which is a great indulgence, indeed. And God smiles. He made me to love books and the color pink and sparkly stuff. 😊

Oh John, how I needed this message today! It was almost like I was just given "permission" to be happy and celebrate good things. I have lived with the false idea that I do not deserve to be happy, to have good things, to enjoy life, etc, and have struggled with this issue....feeling guilty for living this way yet not sure how to escape the prison of wrong thoughts. Knowing this "celebration" is one of the spiritual disciplines almost just opened up a door for me and has freed me from 20 years of guilt and sadness. Anyway, THANK YOU, again, for this series and for carrying on Dallas's great teachings and for leading all of us on our individual journeys (yet somehow we are all together)....such a beautiful mystery that is somehow reality!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have been on a journey of learning how MUCH God loves me and that He is not the austere God that I thought he was. Short story - i was just listening to this John talk about his waffle breakfast. when i got a phone call from a released inmate who found the Lord. He could not wait to be released and go to IHOP for a big pancake breakfast. when he called he was in IHOP eating his pancakes, smelling fresh coffee and enjoying a glass of orange juice. He was celebrating the Love and Goodness of God!

One of my favourite series by my favourite pastor/thinker! John Ortberg is a gem more people need to come across. He knows how to authentically speak Biblical life and truth that can be applied directly to our daily lives. His cheery and practical approach is refreshing. May we celebrate our faith and joy in Jesus like he talks about!
