Would love to see an in-depth look at the Leica phone. I had no idea it existed before now, but now I'm captivated by just how extra it seems. We've got to find out the catches!
Well it's based on the Aquos R6 (the other guy already pointed that out) which came in the first half of this year & was one of the first (and still only one) to feature 1-240Hz LTPO display along with the 1" sensor & the beloved 3.5mm HP Jack ofc!!
The tick tock phone is actually an interesting concept, if you think about the way we as a culture communicate attention, focus, and respect - for example, laying a phone face down, which usually mutes it or puts it on do not disturb, so as to show that we are paying attention to a conversation or a meeting in a room or whatnot. Laying this phone face down still allows you to have the benefits of a smartwatch, where you get a discrete, simplified version of alerts, but for people who do not physically enjoy wearing a watch.
While I definitely can’t and probably won’t get that Leica phone, I’d love to see a review on it. Very interesting that they went for that design but for a camera like that, I get it.
Absolutely loved this episode, thought the Unihertz phone was so quirky, and then the Leica Leitz! Think it has a fabulous shell/body. Please review both in more detail. Also yes the CAT phone was also good, like the new light Android version.
That CAT phone is like a gift from above for me. I've always wanted something reminiscent of a mid-00's cell phone, but running Android. It's not that I want to go basic or disconnect, I just don't have a preference for the "one giant screen" form factor that dominates 99% of the market. And regarding the question posed at the Unihertz, the question isn't "why?", it's "why not?".
Leica review would be awesome. Also, whenever I see or hear the brand Leica, reminds me of a movie called Euro Trip. If you haven't seen it, it's a must. 😜😂
The leica phone was the most interesting one. Never knew it existed. A review of niche product is always fun 👍🏼. Hopefully you wil 🤞🏼. By the way i like the way you took a "different approach" than the usual "best phones 2021" I love it 💯👍🏼
Love how youtubers are so specifically outlining their financial involvements with 3rd parties now. Gives me so much more confidence in what they say about things. If only politicians did the same!
Would absolutely love to see a review of the Leitz 1, never really see much about Sharp phones in general never mind such a special edition of one. Curious to see if the 240hz panel is a noticeable improvement over the 90 and 120hz panels that are becoming more and more common now as well Fantastic video as always and happy holidays!
Out of all of these, the CAT S22 Flip is by far the most interesting to me. It's not clear to me how the Leica Leitz Phone 1 is really all that different from a regular phone, aside from the (presumably better?) camera and refresh rate.
My dad had one of those CAT phones as a work phone. He was a visiting nurse at the time and the company provided. He actually bought one about a month after he left the company because he actually liked it and missed having a secondary "dumb" phone that still did emails.
I'm still using the Huawei Mate 10 pro that you recommended in 2016/2017. (I can't remember, thats so long in phone-years) And the biggest thing I still love, is the Lecia cameras. This phone, even in 2021, takes comparable pictures to current flagships. I'm more blown away with Lecia cameras, than the phone itself. Which is really saying something, as this phone is still receiving updates, all be it using a vpn to trick the updates. I'm very intrigued at the Leitz phone!! And I clearly need to find a new brand of phone soon. lol RIP Huawei US
If you can live without Google services or don't mind spending some time getting it to work (some apps like banking might still not work tho, better to research), maybe consider importing the P40/Pro/+ or Mate 40 Pro/+ I know that the P50 series is already out, but imho is a step backwards in some departments & ofc hardly any 5G models of you care about that!
@@sushimshah2896 I am SUPER interested in the mate 40 pro. However, the company I work for basically utilizes all Google apps. Google sheets for the most part. So it's nice having all my Google apps right on the home screen.. I'm still stuck on what to do.
I saw that Cat phone when I was in a T-Mobile store to seek help about my LG Wing's cracked screen--kinda blew my mind that it actually existed, as I had heard about Asian smartphones that featured a flip, bot none had ever made it stateside that I was aware of. Then, suddenly, here it is. A smartphone that folds away...the old-fashioned way.

I love that Ticktock phone. It reminds my of your When Phones Were Fun series. I think phone companies are trying to reinvent the wheel. Just something different like that would make me consider the phone. We are so sick of large black screens aren't we.

Definitely would like a review on the Leica Phone, and one thought, why not take a bit of a crazy "road trip", Alaska. Right now Fairbanks is an absolute winter wonderland, and with the storms we are getting, great photography. Plus, there are 2 big tests/challenges that Alaska can throw at a device that not many places can, extreme low light, and extreme cold. One comparison that I do testing different equipment is battery length "warm", and cold. Plus, you would not believe some of the crazy quirks that extreme cold can bring out in a device of any sorts!!!!
Have to be real, of all the phones in this video I love that cat flip. It's just smart enough for what I would use it for while being protected and not any smarter than it needs to be. Perfect for surveying and sitework whenever I need something like that
Hell yeah. Would love to see a full review of the Leitz Phone 1. I have a Leica camera and love it. Would really like to know if Leica can pull off the same magic in a phone.
I would definitely love to see a review of the Leica phone. Wherever you do go for a road trip review, go on a boat. I'm sure you will get amazing photos there too
One of the weirdest phone was Lenovo Legion Duel 2 with inbuilt fan & horizontal pop up front camera. It also had a design like a hand held gaming console. That was a daring move😆😆
That Tick Tock Watch @2:32 should have been removable 🤯. Then it magnetically attaches to a wrist band. And boom you gots a tiny version of the Tick Tock phone, on your wrist 🤯😳😵
I would love to see an in depth camera review of the Leica phone. Most of the content available is from the initial launch with no follow up or more than a few snaps takes on the phone. I believe it deserves better than a one and done look and you're just the guy to do it proper justice.
I had the p800 as a kid and it didn't even have video capture. I remember getting a 3rd party app to record 15sec footage taking snapshots that compiled a video clip xD p800 was like the kids version of the p910.
Am I the only one who gets that strange nostalgic feeling at 1:28 to back when the first smarphones without a keyboard were released and you still had a normal phone with real keys and suddenly you get all the screen in the world? Ok, the screen were much smaller back then but the normal phones were also much smaller than this flip phone here in the middle. 😁
I work at a HelloFresh facility, we pack up the things into boxes. Let me tell you it's all frozen solid so it's definitely pretty fresh when it arrives
We need a camera comparison between the Xperia Pro I and the Leica phone and maybe a general discussion about their one inch sensors. How the both companies use them and how much of the sensor actually they use.
That watch phones cosmetic design is it's major floor. It looks like it has a cheap watch wrapped around it. We've had dual screen phones and phones with mini screens on the back. This is giving you a fully functional android mini screen on the back. Ideal for checking the time if your at work or readihg your texts or playing music to the Bluetooth enabled radio in my office. The size of the mini screen might be less of a drain on battery. Also a screen for selfies using the main camera.
I would really love to see a road-trip review of the Leica phone which I never even heard about. And really man I like your Road-Trip Reviews the most......
Hey Mr. Mobile! Can you one day give us a tutorial on how to get rid of bloatware (how to spot it and not delete something important) like you mentioned during the Leitz phone?
Pretty cool to see the Unihertz Titan on this list. I actually use one as my main phone and love the big chunky thing. Really like your content man, keep it up. These quirky phone episodes + the when phones were fun series are my absolute favourites.
before you mentioned the leica phone by name i paused the video every time it turned up in a shot to try to recognise it and admire how beautiful it is. the palm rejection issue sounds awful but i'd love to hear more about it!
Okay not gonna lie, I really like the idea of the TickTock? Reminds me of a pseudo-Vivo Nex Dual Screen. I always liked that solution to keeping the camera on the back. Plus the fact that it's rugged means you got a phone with good longevity.
Yeah I would love a Leica phone review. I'm a Leica camera fan and love the images I get out of their cameras. I'd love to see a road trip review on this one!
