As another PhD, Black woman it is so unfortunate that she had to endure what she did. Her death was not in vain; it elevated the oppression, passive-aggressive behaviors, and mental strain we face in our HBCU institutions. Rest well in heaven Sis...we will continue to fight and stand!

It’s strange how when we say that we are suffering from feelings of depression and anxiety it’s pushed a side so easily and we are not taken serious but when others complain it’s a serious matter!
Im a 2x attempt survivor... I looked up to her for her work, intelligence and beautiful spirit. My heart is completely broken over her loss. My God....I hope that institution crumbles from the inside out.
In looking at the slides of Dr. Candia-Bailey at her Celebration of Life, she appeared to be fun, so full of life and a very classy woman. A high achiever for sure. Her passing is a loss. Rest in peace classy lady and I pray for her family, friends, colleagues, and students who held her in high regard.

I wish that she had left that place when the bullying and mobbing started. She had the credentials and intelligence to go where she was appreciated. Statistics show that if you stay where you're bullied too long, you'll get sick, possibly fired, suffer from depression or in extreme cases homicide or suicide. One guy had a supervisor who bullied him so badly that he had to have open heart surgery. On his day back to work after surgery the bully supervisor went outside to meet him on the parking lot. No one knew what the boss said to him, but the guy got back in his car, went home, got a gun came back and unalived the boss, and himself! Everyone was upset about the guy who did the shooting, however his boss bothered a lot of people, and he was extremely cruel to that guy, and from what I read they didn't miss him. RIP Bonnie💔🙏😢
I'm still thinking about Ms. Bailey. I am so disappointed. I feel that so many people failed this beautiful black woman. Please stop with this cancel culture, workplace mobbing and bullying, etc. How can anyone get satisfaction in attempting to make someone destitute? We have to do better. Rip Queen.
This lady worked her way to the top and ended taking her own life, wow, where do you christian suppose her soul has gone? Where was all those people in those pics to tell her suicide is of the devil and if she takes her own life she will end up in hell? There's life after death and a judgement, that is why my only friend is Jesus, he has been the only person who ever loved me, the only person who has always been constant in my life and the only person who has ever shown me unconditional love.
OUR feelings are real, not fickle, and we have to stop minimizing " how we feel" and recommending prayer as the answer. Prayer is never a panacea for our pain and brokenness. It is only an aid. We need to address the source of our pain. Depression and suppression lead us down a dark hole and sadly the inevitable becomes real and possible. She was a sister of faith, Yes but she needed a few LISTENING EARS and Compassionate and Empathetic hearts. Willing to say come "We"'ll walk through this season of disappointment together. God bless her life and may her soul rest in Peace. Man can never validate us, we have values ourselves and stand on our intrinsic worth and value.
Check on your strong friends the system doesn't care about US never have and never will it's up to us to look after, pray for, and truly love each other such a beautiful woman gone to soon
I will work to get anti-bullying laws added to existing discrimination laws so that those like Bonnie and Kevin and thousands others don't have to give their lives in vain for their workplaces! I understand!
it's coming up on a year in march that i was having an anxiety attack at work in BD's office in HR after i got to work and BD had deactivated my id and i was told that i was suspended because BD said that i threatened the employees at the job! a total lie. i was humiliated and treated like a whore by someone at the job for why i went to HR to complain. BD knew that i had depression anfd that i see a psychiatrist because i told her. she didn't want to document what happened to me so she chose to make up a false narrative that i was angry and aggressive. BD wanted to fire me. i bwas stripped of my pay for those four days that i was suspended. the HR supervisor that approved this bull crp was recently fired for the way she treated a lady in a recent incident. i go through so much. i literally take meds to be at work for 8 hrs. i don't take the meds unless im at work. There are a few more people that should be fired in hr and maybe the morale in those 4 walls can be lifted and we can work in peace
