In this video, we share our experience renting an accessible cabana on Celebrity Apex. We discuss the accessibility of the cabana, the service, the food, the atmosphere, and whether or not we think it's worth the money.
We were really impressed with the accessibility of the cabana. It was spacious and had everything we needed. The service was friendly and somewhat attentive, but not always excellent. Also, the atmosphere in the cabana was not as quiet and peaceful as we had hoped.

Hope you enjoyed the video. FYI we did end up getting the vitamin waters and Red Bull (realized I forgot to recap that). So after watching are you more inclined or less inclined to rent a cabana on Celebrity Cruises??

I like your videos very much. Good cruise reviews with the added element of information for those of us with mobility issues. The cabana would have to be a screaming good deal to entice me. Didn’t like the noisy neighbors.

We had a pool view cabana on Beyond in March. We had attendants swarming us and never had to wait for service. I liked having less foot traffic and could see the ocean on the other side of the pool too. I’m a weather geek so I planned our cabana day based on the expected course of the ship relative to the angle of the sun. We like the Beyond configuration.

Thanks for posting this video. Honestly Cabana's are not often discussed and the concept of them seem really neat. I am still considering getting a two person but I am sailing solo. I did want a private place to sit by the pool with my laptop though but I may just stick to a sunset bar seating. This will be on the Celebrity Beyond so maybe the service will differ. I am hoping for an attentive attendant for the price I have to pay which is 283$ CAD.

It is always possible you might get a different experience. Just remember the Cabana's on Beyond face inwards to the pool area, so something to keep in mind. Have a great cruise and thanks for watching.

Thanks again for a great video. I’ve been wondering about those Cabanas for some time. Your review was objective and perfect. My wife and I have rented cabanas elsewhere before and we've discovered two most important ‘amenities’: The shade and the service - Looking for a waiter at any time while you are in a cabana is a big problem! Kudos on the swearing comment: 17:12; and Kudos on the ‘gentlemen’ comment: 17:20. I wholeheartedly agree. Kind of feel Celebrity’s Cabanas are almost an afterthought after they designed everything else. Have each cabana with foot traffic in front of you during your time there - not sure I like that. There needs to be a sign on that outer area that says ‘Cabana Area’. Passengers should NEVER have to police that. Most people are non-confrontational, and yet they’ve paid top-dollar to have that space. Nate, I agree the ship feels conflicted. You made a great discussion point. [18:02] What’s the atmosphere Celebrity is trying to create? Is it to relax? Is it to party? The pool noise (incl. microphone, etc.) would have annoyed me also. I understand the idea of having fun activities for everyone, throughout the day. But having party activities, like a fraternity house? Perhaps there should be designated times, perhaps there were. I would say, if the cabanas are there for the party-time atmosphere, they would be facing the pool. If the cabanas are for relax, should be facing the ocean, or as Colleen suggested - should have some cabanas in the Solarium. Lastly, I think Celebrity should strive for that overall sophisticated genre. We won't be renting any cabana, unless they're in the Solarium! P.S. Bottle of Vodka, Rum or Gin is a very bad idea for the neighbors and passengers as whole!

Wow thanks for the feedback and that is what we strive for on our channel. We try to be objective and fair as possible. We did end up canceling our cabañas in December and instead are doing a spa day! So look out for that review in the future!

We did a cabana at Coco Cay recently. I have mobility issues and it was a long walk through sand. No noise issues because we were “poolside”, but they planted tall bushes to give the cabanas privacy. This meant we had a view of tall bushes. Never again.

Hey Colleen and Nate! Once again, truly enjoyed your video. My husband is also disabled. I really appreciate you spotlighting accessible places/cabins, etc. on these cruise ships. This is not something I see very often. We are not big Cabana people as we have always thought they were overpriced for what you get. Your experience just solidified our thoughts. We would just find 2 quiet loungers in the solarium area. I hate the loudness out by the main pool. We like to RELAX, not hear thumping music, or have some televised stuff blasting, or someone on a mic making loud announcements. We got enough of that on the RC ships. I'm glad you two did get to have this experience so at least you know. That was weird about the roaming furniture. I'm sorry you had such bad neighbors, simply rude and unclassy. (I'm sure alcohol helped that situation) Most people renting a cabana are doing so to chill out. Unfortunately, as you said, it's a shared space so you were stuck. Just as my hubby and I would do, you made the best of it and that's what matters. I'm so sorry you never got your Red Bulls and vitamin waters. Those would have been cheaper than the beers that you didn't take. We are still quite stoked about sailing on the Apex, but we will not be partaking in a cabana. A spa day sounds much more our speed. :) Take care...

After 12 days on Apex I fell in love with the ship, service, everything. However, the placement of the cabanas made them less than desirable for my tastes. It’s like you are reserving a nice place to be in a hall.

Well . . . we have a cabana booked for an annniversary cruise on the new Celebrity Ascent. I'm just wondering if that's what we want. We, like you, prefer a more chill, quiet experience. I will check that out a little more before we decide to abort. On Holland America we had a cabana for the whole cruise and it was wonderful. Very quiet. A dedicated steward who was extremely attentive. I've noticed there are several places for cabanas on the Ascent, so maybe you have a choice between silencio and calypso . . . ;) Thanks for the review!

No cabana for me, just not my cup of tea. Been enjoying your vids on Apex, going on her in Aug, especially been watching how Coleen is navigating the ship, I also am disabled and use a small mobility scooter, Colleen seemed to manage getting around just fine, so not seeing any red flags concerning getting around, we have booked Aqua class, outside of using Blue as our main restaurant, not sure what else it entails, however thanks for your efforts 👍

The solarium is my favorite place on ship .I hope they dont put cabanas in there as that space is beautiful and Free !! and . I agree the outside pool is for action packed activities I never sit there.

If you paid for the Cabanas and chairs then it doesn't matter how far away the chair is located (I think you may have exaggerated the 20ft lol). Of course it's best to nicely let people know and not be rude but I would want all of what I'm paying for.
