Bottomline line is STOP COMPARING ourselves to others. Nobody is perfect. We have our own strengths and weaknesses. Accept and acknowledge where our weaknesses coming from and from there learn to appreciate it after all it is us who determines our own mistakes and failures. When we feel under stress or having some kind of panic then do PRAY it is powerful to talk to GOD. Thanks I have made it.

Was she “comparing” herself to others (fully) or did she have a false perspective on aging? Perhaps she couldn’t identify what was next for her or goals? And depression takes every insecurity and negative thought you have and magnifies significantly, to the point where individuals can no longer cope with their own inner demons (AKA …thoughts). Depression effects every aspect of your life…sleep, appetite, energy level, mood, physically, motivation/drive, work life, social life…YOUR LIFE! Similarities: Sufferers “I didn’t want to burden anyone” “I’m just being too (fill in the blank)” “I’m fine” Survivors “I had no idea” “IDK why they didn’t say anything” “They always seemed so happy” “They had everything going for them” “They were so kind to everyone” Individuals with depression are typically very kind, because they know what it feels like to be hurt and sad and alone. They are usually social, funny, joyful (even when they aren’t feeling it on the inside) How easy is it to tell someone that you are struggling with depression, anxiety, or not sure what? One important key point… If someone has cancer or diabetes, we don’t ever tell them to get over it, snap out of it, others have it worse than you, be grateful for what you have, just smile, just think happy thoughts (these are SO UNHELPFUL) BUT, if someone has a mental health illness, we treat that illness FAR DIFFERENTLY! It’s almost like the individual with the mental health illness has more control over their body and illness than the patient with cancer or diabetes? Re-read that… THEY DON’T!!! Individuals who suffer from mental health illness’s, usually suffer in silence!!! They may drop bits and pieces of how they are feeling, but mental health is very stigmatized and carry’s far more expectations than any other illness! Many individuals who commit suicide don’t want to die, they just want the pain to end… The thoughts that grow in the dark, die in the light… You are worth it ♥️ #stopthestigma #; #anillnessisanillnessandtreatmentsvarypersontoperson #dontsufferinsilencecallthesuicudeprevebtionhotline #findgroupstoengagein #writedowngoals #list10healthycopingstrategies #dontgiveup #justwaittilltomorrowbeforemakinganydecisions

@@imhwh20112012 I’m a Social Worker who works primarily with children and youth struggling with MH concerns. Sadly, MH is very prevalent in our country and yet so misunderstood! No one who suffers from a mental illness wants to go through that daily struggle (but…wherever they go, there they are!). There seems to be a common belief or understanding held by many, “people choose this”? Who would want to choose the often debilitating effects of mental illness or even the effects of the “Eeyore Syndrome”? Mental Health Treatment isn’t a one-size fits all and often times, it can be trying to find the best course of treatment for a patient (with limited to no side effects). But there are some things, that are somethings that are one-size fits many (or dare I say 99.9%, not all of these but perhaps 1 or 2?) A healthy support network of non-paid supports Laughter Engaging with others in activities(healthy) of common interests Exercise (or even a walk ~ enjoying the fresh air) Journaling Trying new things Cooking/baking Being around others Working on creating good sleep hygiene habits Setting goals Gardening and on and on… Thank you Rod BP, we need to increase awareness of MH concerns and decrease the stigma! The only way to do both, is to keep the conversation open and active!

I had cancer treatment and the stigma is still "humiliating." One weekend, I was hospitalized, struggling with the decision to undergo a life (& dream) altering surgery when I read a sentence in a book about fear & cancer. The author, a cancer patient & Christian, wrote "you don't have the right to let yourself die." That sentence snapped me out of my self-pity and moved me to do the hard, but right thing. We all have a responsibility to play the hand we've been dealt. Never, ever give up.

In a video where she talked about how energetic she was during her sports life and early 20s, she said these days she’s just tired, and that it might be normal when you turn 30, like 30 was 80 or something. I think she really dreaded 30.. Maybe that’s why she had so much going for her, because she felt like 30 is old.. Remember she recorded these video after a whirlwind move to NYC right before the start of covee. She spent a year and a half on social media ALL DAY from a NYC apartment. Her hopes & dreams were now on hold. She never really learned the practice of law because she left her 1st legal job to become a celebrity, only to have those hopes dashed inside of a NYC apartment. She, like many around the world, was not in a good headspace. Our bodies change so much at that age and no one knew her true medical history. No one is saying this, but she is not a good role model. She chose to fake it till you make it which is DISHONEST. I know it's hard to be honest, but her family didn't deserve 💔

She was doing waayyy too much! I loved her. And this made me sad. But, we have to take care of ourselves. Just because you are strong and young, doesn't mean you take on a millions things. And she was doing this since she was in college. She was a long jumper, triple jumper and heptathlete! Then she got a MBA and Law Degree simultaneously. Great pressure! Great stress with just this alone. Then came the many many pageants. More stress. More pressure. And no breaks! She was depressed. She was an Attorney. She was on "Extra". She was a Board member of several organizations giving a million speeches. Flying all over the country. She had a blog. Was developing a fashion line. And active on Instagram and Tik Tok where she was constantly trolled with people (who were jealous and hateful) to kill herself! And she was writing a book. This sounds like the "mania side" of Bi-polar Depression. And is obviously deadly. All of that is enough to cause someone to self-terminate. We have to take care of ourselves. Slow down. And not take on too much. We are not machines. Rest in Peace beautiful, smart Queen!

There is a security camera on the terrace where she jumped from. From what I understand, it shows she was alone on the terrace before she jumped. Many people want to think someone so beautiful and accomplished in life could not have chosen suicide. It's heartbreaking. This young woman's suicide is a sad example that you never know what internal struggles people are having. One hint of why she may have chosen to end her life is she seemed to have an extreme sensitivity to growing older. I can't blame her for feeling that way, because society marginalizes people, especially women, as we age. It's like growing old is a crime or something. I remember years ago having a co-worker half-jokingly comment to me to "...enjoy being young because it's hell getting old". She was right; it is. And, the way the old are regarded in society makes aging even more difficult to deal with.

We need to run a little bit deeper then superficial things for sure and stop believing the hype of the media and society at large.

@@truthseeker5941 These you g women are trained very young to be polished at all cost. As I said before, I’m not placing blame on her Mom, but I feel a lot of the Mothers I met when my daughter was competing in Debate were living through their daughters. I watched as each one didn’t win, and the Moms were telling them where they went wrong! It is cut throat in pageants for sure. If you ever watch them even tiny babies are verbally Manipulated to perform by the Mom. Funny thing is so many of the moms were obese and ignorant. They push these girls to limits of stress that should never be in a child’s life. Most of them grown up frustrated and can’t cope with life. My heart just aches for this woman. How lost do yiu have to be to leap from a building ensuring no survival? God Bless her.

@@victoriahanke5086 Yes, I know about the momagers and their micromanagement and "Be ye perfect" mantra. I read a post that talked about all she was doing in life. They said she got double degrees at the same time and was a competitive athlete, speaker, board member on several companies, lawyer, civic activist, blogger/vlogger/RU-vidr, Extra Correspondent, and world traveler. They said she was writing a book and coming out with a fashion line as well. It is good to be successful, but this speaks to something else that is missing on the inside that you are trying to mask with all of this doing and succeeding. I see why her last post spoke of peace and rest. The sad thing is she had these inner drivers/demons pushing her to the brink, but she could have scaled it back and just rested. I wonder if someone ever sat her down to say, Baby, you are just doing too much right now take it easy, or were they egging her on saying you go girl, you are winning. This whole thing just bothers me...her suicide, the reasonings behind it: the social implications, the unhealed childhood woundings (her father spoke on the dysfunction, but that was obvious), the sexual orientation discrimination, the racism she talked about, plus evil people had been telling her to kill herself online, and lastly the way the pandemic is making people lose hope. This is all so hurtful and sickening. I am so sad about this. I am going to lay down. Blessing.

😒Did she really kill herself, or did someone help her & cover it up w/ typed notes? 😒Theres something the “investigation team” either didn’t do or isn’t telling us, given the sketchiness of the details reported, unless her privacy is just being protected. Story doesn’t add up given her vitality & w/ us being left suddenly w/ just a one lined, typed letter about leaving “everything” to her mom & an ambiguous Instagram post by the time her body is found crushed on the street. I heard no mention of important clues leading up to her demise that may have more clearly revealed how she went out. I’m also surprised that there was so little coverage or pressure for police to investigate or at least comment on evidence supporting a suicide theory further. The minimal details thus far looks staged, and suggests a cover up. More time is typically spend coming though more trivial celeb cases (i.e. Jussie Smolliet case-I mean..Chicago PD produced street cam footage from all over town catching & covering the actions if all partipants leading up to the incident, & then more evidence was produced from their depositions down to bribery checks & private venue footage, etc. Why wasn’t the same energy made to ensure they got the correct cause of death for our Miss USA???? So many people suspect that she was harmed or killed prior to her fall & that the latest findings (a crushed body w/ sketchy typed notes) are a cover up. It was already reported that no drugs or alcohol was involved, which would have been the last viable explanation for it all. Why aren’t more questions being asked about this young woman’s death, like: 1. Who did she last talk to? 2. Did they ping her cell phone to determine just who she last called/called her? 3. Where’s the cameras or security in this luxury high rise while a 9th FL resident is making her way to the 29th FL ledge? A cam or a guard could at least reveal if she was alone the whole time if not the entire scene leading up to her fall. 4. What about street cams? Any suspicious activity caught within a few hrs of her being found? 5. Her “letter” about leaving stuff to her mom was short & TYPED. Did they dust the keyboard (or anywhere else in her apt) for fingerprints? 6. What was she wearing when found dead? Street clothes, PJs? The 29th FL is said to be a common area. Was there a gym or some other amenity there & was she dressed for that? That w/b a clue of whether or not she was on the floor w/a purpose vs forced from her apt. If the former, was anyone else around, & why didn’t they stop her or call for help if they saw her climbing a ledge? 7. Who was around her? Any boyfriends or recent breakups? Any Frenemies? Or was she completely isolated? 8. Back to her bldg: how tight is the security there? Can anyone just walk up in there? If not, where are the guards & what did they see/what can they find in surveillance tapes? We’re the guards changing shifts around the time she died, allowing someone to slip by? Were any “delivery” persons allowed direct access to the floors? 9. Was she lured from her room or cornered at any point within the bldg to be forced off the ledge? 10. She spoke of feeling targeted & online bullies. Meanwhile she was in very competitive arenas from the pageants (she was going for the Miss Universe title next), to her lines of work (law & television). Did someone put a hit out in her to “kill” the competition? If so, she’s not the first to receive a “hit,” (Check the Nancy Kerrigan vs Tonya Harding Olympics incident in around 1991). Meaning: It happens. 11. It’s said that she was seen alone on the ledge, but how alone was she if someone saw her? Who was it that saw her? And how’d she access the ledge when NYC Highrise windows are usually locked for safetey? Who else was on the floor at the time? It’s unlikely to me that people /random passers/by from street level would even be looking upward, long less able to identify & report on a person from that high up, long less pinpoint the floor she stood on/fell from w/o knowing more about the bldg, as residents or involved parties would. I’m from that part of NYC where she died-those streets STAY busy, packed w/tourists, crazies, homeless people, high pedestrian traffic, & relentless vehicle traffic. Most people on street level are too busy looking str8 ahead or around themselves (on street level) to make sure no one picks their pockets as they all brush past each other while fighting for walking space on the sidewalks. Ain’t nobody in the street lookin UP at the bldgs to see who’s standing on a ledge. Except maybe some tourists unaccustomed to seeing tall bldgs, & even they would be unlikely to identify who’s standing on a ledge that high up, long less what floor, etc. So…again: who reported they saw Cheslie “alone” on a ledge, at what time, & where were they looking from when they saw her? 12. She revealed her “daily routine/schedule” and a tour of her home online-an absolute safety no-no if you’re a public figure living alone in a big city & subject to being targeted. Anyone could have followed her or been waiting at or near her home to corner or harm her, & she & her fam (living out of state) c/b none the wiser til too late. Did the bldg cameras clearly show her voluntarily walking alone into an elevator, to ride up to a floor she didn’t live on, to voluntarily enter into a balcony? Did the footage adequately show whether she was alone the entire time, and that she jumped vs our suspicions of being carried, forced, dumped, over the ledge instead? 13. She’s an attorney. Most lawyers know that suicide nullifies insurance payouts, & leaving a letter or clue if any sort behind is unwise unless that’s the intent. My reason for believing someone else posted her last (RIP) Social media mesg & typed that letter about leaving stuff to her mom for her, possibly in anticipation of or while she was dying. Extortionists and hitmen do that kind of stuff to cover their tracks. 14. She & her fam are from out of state, & she may have been separated from them, w/ everyone likely naive of her surroundings, esp if she was isolated w/no one to be her eyes & ears in all her settings. She could have been followed for days & not realized it. There’s a RU-vid clip or two of her shooting for Extra, & stopping her shoot to show exasperation w/ some creepy male who followed her. He exchanged words w/her when asked to leave. Was that someone she knew and/or were they crazy enuff to later come for her? We’re they the only to follow her? It’s frustrating that the police are always so quick to close a case & go w/the first assumption when people of color disappear or die (as done w/ Sandra Bland & countless others). At best theyll check for drugs (to find an easy blame) & that’s it. This young woman was a national jewel w/a title representing the country-why is her sudden death not the hottest news topic and drawing more questions??? 😖 So many questions. So many stones left unturned in the investigation of her case. So unfair. So sad. 🥺😢😔

She had everything she ever wanted and still wasn't happy that sounds ungrateful to me because I'm depressed and I'm broke as hell but still thankful that Jesus Christ died for us. When you don't have God in you then in reality there's no hope for you so you commit an act that you can't take back and then it's too late but then Judgement comes amongst us all and at the end of the day you're still gonna have to answer to God

Having "everything" does not completely eliminate suicide risk. There are many factors that determine suicide risk - mental illness is one of them. However, ultimately human beings are complex and there are multitude of factors that influence our mental health. As well, suicide risk assessment is not fool proof even in the best of times. It's important that we realize that our understanding of our Mind/Brain is limited. Psychology/psychiatry is in it's infancy. So we don't always have answers and we can't make sense of what we're seeing. It is a very difficult and scary thing to contend with. For those who are touched by the passing away of a loved one - you're left with disbelief and sadness. Of course you are! Please take care of yourself. Be compassionate towards yourself. Don't let shame, guilt, or blame have space in our psyche. They were doing the best they can and so were you! Wishing everyone many blessings and peace ❤

I feel you sis! I’ve felt the same way about this story. Unless she was the best actor of all time, her death doesn’t add up to suicide. I’ve been watching her videos and a fan of Cheslie for some years and she’s always talked about having coping skills with dealing with hard times, not giving up, her relationship with God and his plan for her… even tweeted about suicide prevention! so her willingly committing suicide is shocking and doesn’t make sense. The essay she did that ppl bring up is haunting but it’s something that a lot of us struggle with in our 20s about turning 30. Nobody mentions at the end of the essay she ends it in acceptance of her age and then embraces it so idk. Like you said lord forgive me if I’m wrong but she deserves all options to be explored.

Humility is crucial to answered prayers. Every time Jesus encountered humble, desperate people, He immediately met their needs. In Mark 5 alone, Jesus heals the demoniac, raises Jairus’ daughter from the dead, and eradicates a woman’s 12-year hemorrhage. None of these requests were too hard or too demanding for Him. He willingly met them with compassion and power. When we’re humble before God, we acknowledge our sinful condition as well as God’s holiness. Humble people pray with right motives (James 4:1-3). We will pray on behalf of other people (that’s called intercession). We will believe in God’s wisdom and timing because we won’t presume to understand God’s overarching plan. Supplication arms us with the strength and courage to suffer and wait while we ask for relief. If we’re truly humble, we will ask in faith and continue to believe even when life doesn’t turn out like we had hoped (James 1:5-8).
