RIP...Gregory Hines.🧡 I remember when his health was in decline seeing him on TV, newspaper, and magazines. I saw him on TV and noticed how emaciated he was. His death seemed like it happened overnight. 🙏🏾
He’s buried with his longtime girlfriend in Canada. This other RU-vidr who visits graves went to his grave. She was a former body builder and he had kids too from previous relationship. I’m glad someone did a story on him. Great job as always. ❤
I didn’t realize he was 57. My father was 57 when he passed. As a matter of fact, today makes it 11 years he passed away 😢. This video came right on time but it’s bittersweet. Keep up the great work @ Celebrity Underrated. You do great work on here educating us.
I had a chance to meet and dance with Gregory Hines. He was one of the nicest and kindest people. He was very encouraging. We need more people like him. RiP Mr. Hines 🙏🏾
In the late 80s, I had the pleasure to meet one of the Nicholas brothers, Gregory Hines & Savion Glover. I will never forget the hug and kiss on my cheek from Gregory. He embraced us as if we were his family. I had nothing but hapi tears while listening to this podcast. May Gregory & The Nicholas Brothers have a continued safe transition 💜
Yes!!! Loved TAP, too. I love all the Tap Dance Greats. I feel a binge coming on of all these great movies....it has been too long since I have seen them all...a Day of Memorium to the mourned wonderful gifted actors and dancers...it is a dying art form...💔💔
Man I had the biggest crush on him at 15. Boy was I sad when he passed away❤ I remember "Aint Misbehaving " I saw that play with my Aunt. That's when the acting bug hit me. I was 12
Gregory Hines could do it all, act, sing, dance and he was a triple threat. Such a loss. My favorite movie of his is “Running Scared (‘86)” with Billy Crystal. Set in Chicago, IL and a great movie soundtrack featuring Klymaxx and Michael McDonald. Rest in peace, god bless. ❤🕊️
Gregory Hines Was My “G”. Gregory’s Career Was Pretty Healthy. Very Impactful Legacy and A Positive One. The Song 🎧 With Luther Vandross I Just Realized He Was On It… Oldie But Goldie Indeed. Xtra Strength Shout Out To Maurice.
The duet with luther was one of favorites 😊 my parents were talking about the amazement of Gregory hines...which I didn't know as a kid... so blessed I grew up in the last era talent entertainment 🙌🏾 🙏🏾 😌
Gregory Hines was an amazing entertainer...his feet are legendary! Tap is one of my favorite movies, especially seeing the old school legends and the youngster Savion!
Your celebrity story channel is at the TOP! I love to listen to your content and delivery. It was because of you that I learned that my cousin, Mike Evans, lost TWO HUNDRED acres of land in California. This was timely as I have been following the California Reparations Task Force for the last two years and calling in to support the efforts. I did not realize that my family was even impacted until I watched your video. I dont know how you do your research, but I hope his daughter know about the Reparations movement in CA.! 🕊
Gregory Hines played Carl Halpert in Law and Order (season 13, episode 16 "Suicide Box"). I recommend you all go watch that episode and watch how Gregory A.K.A Carl Halpert tore apart Jack McCoy and the rest of his minions. Gregory Hines is the true representation of a divine king. May the Afrakan Ancestors be pleased with You and all you've done on planet Earth. R.I.POWER, my good brother ✊🏽
YEAAAAA BUDDY!!!!!! I clicked so fast i jammed my damn finger on my phone😂😂😂😂. Ouch! Gregory Hines is a legend!!!! Continue to rest in peace king💯💯💯 #TeamAquarius
I liked his duet with Luther Vandross. That was a good song they did together! I also enjoyed Gregory Hines guest spot on Law & Order as a Johnnie Cochran type character. RIP to Gregory Hines and Luther Vandross.
I loved Gregory Hines in "Running Scared". He and Billy Crystal had great chemistry. I loved the scenes when they're on vacation in Key West. You watch that movie wishing you could move down there and hang out with them. They were having a blast!
"A Rage In Harlem" is one of my all-time favorite movies and soooo underrated, as well as Mr. Hines. It was such a shock to me when he died. He was undoubtedly a triple threat and should be talked about more often. You should consider doing a story on Maurice Hines. There is a good doc about him on Showtime. Thank you for this upload.
Gregory Hines brought tap dancing to the mainstream in the 80’s. I loved his movie Running Scared with Billy Crystal. They had wonderful chemistry! I wish they had done more movies together. The song Sweet Freedom by Micheal McDonald from the soundtrack of the movie reminds me of him. The legendary dance between Hines and Mikhail Baryshnikov in White Nights was the highlight of that movie. I love the song So Amazing. The gospel version is on my husband’s tribute CD.
I’m so glad you decided to do his story. When he was alive, as a small child watching him depending on what he was in, he was a bad guy to me but the more older I got, the more I appreciated his work. Looking back at his work and life, the more I can appreciate Mr. Gregory Hines.
I love your stories. I love how you say "Wow". Love it. I am a screenwriter and your channel has given me so much more to read about and write about. Thank you
I was in 11th grade when Gregory passed away. He was amazing, legendary dancer, especially as a kid I enjoyed the movie "White Nights" dance with Mikhail Baryshnikov. Raw Talent.❤
White nights a classic love the soundtrack. My mama favorite actor of all times love the movie tap is my favorite movie with him n Sammy Davis Jr..Rest Peacefully mr Hines 🕊🤲🏾
I do street dancing mainly popping and b-boying (breakdancing) but I have the utmost respect for tap dancing. My favourite movie with Gregory is White Night and Tap. Truly a triple threat🙏🏾
Gregory Hines was quite a talent. I own the DVD "Tap" and have always watched that movie as a tribute to the art of tap dancing. So many of the dancers in that movie I knew from watching television. It was almost like watching a retrospective of the art. I also remember watching him and his brother on t.v. and then wondering "where's his brother"? Your program clarified what I wasn't understanding. Another movie he was in titled Wolfen also came to mind. Definitely a talent. Excuse me, a missed talent. Thank you for a great presentation.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 You told his story very well. This was 1 of my favorite actor/dancer as a kid. I learned how to tap dance because of him. Tap is my favorite movie 🙏🏾🙏🏾💜💜
Loved me some Gregory Hines ❤he was my crush years ago and when I heard that he passed away it crushed me 😢😢😢 RIP Gregory 🙏🏽 I remember he was in a movie “TAPP” together with 3:35 The Nicholas brothers and Sammy Davis jr. and SAND MAN ❤❤/ YESSS!! Rage in Harlem ❤❤❤
The first time I saw Gregory Hines was with his dad and brother. The were called Hines, Hines and Dad. They were always on Johnny Carson and The Ed Sullivan shows. RIP Mr. Gregory Hines ♥
I remember growing up watching him and his brother and his dad and the little trio group called Hines Hines and dad on the variety show. R.I.P GREGORY HINES 🕊️♥️🕊️🙏🙏
My Guy's back with ANOTHER one!!! I've always heard this guy's name but I didn't know much about him. Now I do know about him thanks to the BEST storyteller in the GAME!!! And I did NOT know he was the voice of the father in Little Bill either!!! 🤯🤯🤯 Thanks for another episode Celebrity Underrated & RIP to the late great Gregory Hines!!! 🕊🕊🕊
I love your Channel. Your narration skills is impeccable. Your berolls are amazing. Congratulations on your success. From: NO JUDGE ZONE RU-vid Channel.💖
Great profile! I grew up watching Gregory Hines on TV when the was a part of Hines, Hines, and Dad. He was a great dancer and actor! I'm glad that we have people like Savion Glover to carry on the tradition! I'm glad that I got to see Savion when he was a kid! He was around 12 years old and it was at Symphony Hall, in Newark NJ, where he danced with some old-timers called The Copasetics. He was fabulous, but boy did he have big feet for someone so young! 🤭
I wish sometimes you would reveal your face so we can put a face with the voice. Thanks for your dedication you have certainly found your niche. There’s no other chanel like yours my brother.☮️👍🏾
You don't even know what you're talking about. Laurence Fishburne was in The Cotton Club movie. Playing a character based on Bumpy Robinson, named Bumpy Rhodes. And his Laurence is spelled with a U, not a W.
Thank you for your great feature. on Mr. Hines. He was one of my great performers. I loved him "Running Scared". Everyone loved his collaboration with Luther, but my favorite is to this day sill, " That Girl Wants to Dance with Me" the video had Pam Grier in it. I loved his short-lived sitcom and I found it on Crackle early part of this year. He is the reason I found Will and Grace. Mr. Hines was a shining star that went out too soon. I had to pick up his forever stamp collection. I have them on display in my home. By the way, The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh was released in 1979, but it starred none other than Dr. J, Meadowlark Lemon, Margaret Avery just to name a few. It was one of the few movies my mom took my brother and I to as kids😀
I Really love the way you told this story from the beginning to the end it was just amazing l learned so much about Gregory Hines and his brother, his whole family. You really told that story well thank you for that.🙏🙏 from his tap, dancing days until his singing days and his acting days, he was truly a brilliant man. We all miss him.
RIP Gregory Hines, Suzanne Douglas, Sammy Davis jr., Sandman Sims and the Nicholas Bros. The cast of Tap. That was one of my fave movies. Thank you for all you do ❤️
Thank u for doing this on the late, great Gregory Hines. I was very young when I saw him on TV. Running Scared and Waiting to Exhale. I didn't know much about him but now I do, thanks to you.
