Normal double golden can be quite hard if you don't use consistent strats for certain parts! I've learned setups from other people's videos which make random parts less random :p
Is there a mod you're using to make collected strawberries not appear blue, and use their normal red/golden animations and collection sounds? Since it shows you already collected them at the end.
9 hours on dashless+ room 12 clear (it has one same input to get a seemingly impossible berry in 1a) and about 9 hours on this challenge afterwards. (steam play time 2000+h)
thank you! i suggest you could use speedruntool's savestate function and tasmod info hud function to practice and troubleshoot this part. to set up your subpixel, do: climb on to the crumble block, full jump, press left shortly after that jump and grab to the wall, don't release jump so that you will slide and slow fall when you release grab, grab on to the wall and grab jump without direction. this will guarantee the possibility of the frame perfect jump
This is a dashless challenge of getting every possible berry (TAS tied) without collecting any of them until the end, including very precise movements in certain parts. Because of how the game works, berry won't be collected if Madeline doesn't stay on the ground for too long.
Maybe I am dumb, but how do you get the dashless berry with your dash at 1:10 ? I don't wanna call your run a fake, but that's suspicious af Edit : Nvm i'm just bad at the game
I think there's nothing suspicious at all but I will explain what happened anyways. First of all, I removed all keybinds for dash and demodash to prevent accidental misdash, so I did not and technically cannot press a single dash in the run. Second, refills (dash crystals) will refill Madeline with not only dash, but also stamina. The setup of my 6jump here is to climb to the highest point on the left wall, grab jump to reset subpixel, slowfall and buffer a right grab jump, which cost a lot of stamina. So, it's reasonable that Madeline turns red, a state indicating lack of stamina, and that stamina is refilled when Madeline touches the refill.
The jump for the berry entrance at 1:56 contains one frame perfect if you set up your subpixel correctly. If not, the jump would not be possible. Also, getting pass the room at 3:22 from left to right requires a double cornerboost (the "dcb" in description). Therefore, this challenge has two extremely precise inputs that you kinda have to gamble and pray, while other parts are relatively easier with good setups.
@@queue06those were the problem berries i was thinking about (as well as the one in the room with a ton of dash crystals, but its very possible i just got unlucky attempting to get it or its an easy setup) doesn't look or sound like they've gotten any easier though
@@erierierierierie that berry basically requires your horizontal subpixel closer to the left (closer to the right will fail your first jump). to set it up, just hold right and press grab until you reach the pixel :)
@@erierierierierie umm that was merely my thought and i don't have much tas knowledge to support it. in fact Cr33pyCat and lin (the two people who have done this double golden 8up before) used this setup so i just learned it. somehow, you could get tricked even with this setup when the buffered left grab jump gives you unwanted extra distance.
