Excellent gear as usual. I'm still not 100% convinced the Neo Speakers carry the low end at volume as much as the older Ferrous speakers do though. That said, I play in Drop A# at ridiculous volumes :D
That 1x12 sounds huge! I'm looking at speaker replacements for my 1x12 Fender and Marshall open-back combo amps. Amy recommendations? I want the bass to not get flubby, as I play clean and distorted tunes. Thanks! Love the Alice in Chains and Lenny Kravitz riffs too!
Thanks for that, normally it is Joe that does all the playing (he is far better than me) so thanks for that. I really like the H heritage or neo creamback for 1x12 combos, but the H creamback is great too, they are all very bold sounding speakers, and versatile too.
Thanks for the great video! I think the ported 1x12 sounded best for my test. Also the neo-creamback is probably my favourite Celestion. However, my concern is weather a single 60w neo would handle a Rockerverb 50 at full Blust without exploding. Do you think it would or I would need a higher wattage single speaker?
i think a need a ported 112 from you guys. i love my 412, but my ironball looks silly on it, and i'd like to have an actuallyy competent small rig. my palmer v30 112 is sadly just awful...
I'm looking at Zilla cabs loaded with Greenbacks for my SLO-30 and Plexi. I'm torn between 1x12 and 2x12. The studio room is really small (11m2) so space is really limited, so 1x12 would be great, 2x12 is really pushing it (might need it popped up vertically). Amps are attenuated to around 90db. Two problems though, shipping to continental Europe with Brexit looming, I'm worried about possible tariffs on Jan 1st. And what is the lead time for a 1x12 ported with custom tolex approximately?
HI, sorry for the slow response. I may not see a response on here but if you email us at info@zillacabs.com I will be more than happy to help. I think the ported 1x12 could be a good call from what you are saying. The turn around time is around three to four weeks. We ship worldwide to many countries on WTO rules, the biggest fee (other than cost of the cab) is sales tax or VAT which we wouldn;t have to charge you if we leave without a deal, but UK VAT is 20% and that is about the highest in Europe. There may be a small amount of import duties which I imagine would be around 4-5% but this may well be offset if you are in a country that pays a lower rate of VAT. I hope this helps. Paul.
@@ZillaCabs Thank you answering my questions. I really appreciate it. I ended up ordering a 2x12 unloaded from you this week. I'm pretty tight right now but I value handmade things from here than factory stuff from China, so I unfortunately had to go unloaded this time around. Thank you for answering the questions about the tariffs, whatever happens I wish you the best of success. Love the UK, deal or no deal, I wish you all the best. Cheers
Hi Harry, you can still get a really big sound for a 1x12 like the Fatbaby or ported 1x12. What amp would you be putting on top? Often the width of the amp can determine the width of the cab.
HI James, sorry for the slow response. That cab is around 26kg as I remember, which is around 60lbs or so.... should could make it a smidge lighter with a 15mm body, or possible a slightly thinner baffle.
@@markmc13 going on the Fatboy 2x12 that would come in at 21kg, but that is a massive sound for a 21kg cab. A lighter cab would be the Deep Small Vintage at around 19kg. Those are the loaded weights. You can push weight down further but it isn't always worth it as it can become a compromise on the sound.
@@ZillaCabs I'm looking at a vertical angled cab, maybe with an oval hole at the back, would 19kg be about right for the deep small vintage with that in mind? Or could a slightly reduced cab size be made to lighten it even further?
Some people just want to hear the guitar, some people want to hear talking. The reason we talk a fair bit in the videos is because there aren't so many people that spend all day, every day just working with cabs and speakers. There are plenty of people of great players who can play a cab/speaker but they wont necessarily know where it fits, how it works in different cabs etc, they can just comment on that situation, that is well catered for on youtube... that said I'm definitely the crappier guitar player out of the two of us (me and Joe) so its nice that you hint there should be more guitar ;)
