Celia Cruz was VERY popular in Mexico and many other Latin American countries. Mexico is where it was discovered she was ill. I would also point out that there are several writers and musicians who have crossed over to each country including Tito Puente, Agustín Lara, Benny Moré, and Melón.
Bro she aquired the title of Queen of Salsa Music. She was from Cuba and she was loved by all hispanic and Latin cultures because of the soul in her music and her sweet personality. Everyone hurt when she passed.
Entiendes ahora?
OMG the lyrics in this song today for me have a total different meaning “anybody that thinks that life is is always the same needs to know that’s a not true. That life’s wonderful and we have to live it. Anybody that thinks they’re are alone, they’re wrong and they need to know there’s always someone by their side (God). No need to cry. Life it’s a carnival and it’s more beautiful if you enjoy it singing. Anybody that thinks life it’s cruel need to understand that there are only bad times and all of that passes....” thank you for reminding me that there’s so much more to be grateful and thankful even when life gets rough. I enjoy so much your positivity, your beautiful smile and your appreciation of our diverse culture. We’re all brothers no matter what language, size, color, possessions or beliefs we all possess. Love your beautiful soul and thanks again! 😉
Yo stop separating us by color bruh. We are just Cubans, PERIOD. Stop looking at color you racist. We are Cubans, screw skin color!! PATRIA Y VIDA!!🇨🇺🇨🇺🇨🇺🇨🇺🇨🇺
Celia Cruz was a amazing Cuban singer from the 1950´s who inspired people not only her music and lyrics, but also how simply she lived. She never forgot where she came from. Maya Angelou admired her so much that she learned Spanish to speak with Celia Cruz.
Azuuuuucaaar!!! Feliz!!! Amo ser latino!! 🎆🎇🎊🎉😃😃😃👏👍👏👍
They are not Latinos in the sense of background of the word, but Africans who were brought to the locations where Latinos dominated. Just like here in the United States of America, they are Africans, but you wouldn't call them African Anglos now would you? Of course not, so they are not Afro Latinos. That doesn't exists. There are Africans who speak Spanish just like Africans who speak English.
It gives me goosebumps to see you "discover" this Negra. She has been a force of nature in my life since the early 90's when a Moroccan friend gave me a cassette of her music to help my Spanish study before my first trip to Cuba. My reaction to her music back then was the same as yours, and it has not let up one ounce since. Study the lyrics to most of her songs. Celia studied in Cuba to be a school teacher, and she is fulfilling this mission through her music. Meanwhile, I have collected all her music from the late 40's until her last LP, and have a poster she sent me when I was ill which she signed and put a "Get Well" message on it. We have all the Queens. Queen of Blues, Queen of Soul, and the Queen of Salsa.
Celia cruz is a legend a icon, and will forever be remembered for her uniqueness and azucar. Period Rest in Peace mi negra shula. Period. I love your respects to being impressed by so many latino music. Thanks buddy🙌🙌🙌😉😘👏👏💪😊
That's the QUEEN right there... and don't get it twisted... You know you're a huge deal when Patty LaBelle and Aretha show up to your tribute show... BTW, Whoopi Goldberg makes it a point to honor the QUEEN on The View every once in a while. Long live the QUEEN!!!
My mom used to help organize conventions for Hispanic organizations here in the states. She and I had the honor of meeting Celia Cruz and Tito Puente. There were 100,000 mourners at her services in Miami. My mom passed away three years ago come January 1. Really miss them all.
Celia was a queen to her Cuban people. She was a true lady with an amazing talent and career and she left a legacy. For Cubans race is not an issue. We don't have black Cubans or white Cubans or Asian Cubans - we are just Cuban.
Thank you for reacting to this!!! ❤️ I am proudly 💯 Salvadorean and to me we are all one, all of us from Latin America are all one!!! And we love all of our brothers and sisters!!!! Much love and peace to Celia Cruz and her musical legacy that lives on! And you got a new subscriber just for reacting to this!!! 🙂
Celia Cruz was, is and will be the best of Cuba. She loved what she did -- sing & entertain and loved her audience. And that love always flowed from her audience to her. When she past in New Jersey ( where she lived), her family held the first vigil there and so loving towards her fans they flew her body to Miami so her fans in Florida could pay their respects -- the lines were blocks long all day long. During her funeral procession on the way to the cementary it was a very gloomy & rainy day. But it was appropiate for we were saying our final earthly goodbyes to one of God's Angels in our world. Her heart was bigger than her fame. God in heaven and his Angels are enjoying her talent right now.
You are right bro. There’s no party where they don’t play this song. Celia Cruz, the biggest salsa music exponent, she will always be remembered and in our hearts. RIP.
"Dis is dat song ?!" man, your reactions are the very best! Great spontaneous reactions. I love your appreciation and comments of every song or video you react to. Keep them coming and good luck and good listen.
Celia Cruz was 🇨🇺 Cuban but in New York 5 boroughs, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and the rest of Latin America was loved fiercely she was and forever will be AZUCAR love her and miss her Rest In Peace Queen of Salsa 💃
LOVE your smile. Then Sir, you must see videos of her and La Fania all stars!!! pick one doesn't matter they are all phenomenal. Was lucky to see them in Venezuela eons ago. She came on at idk 1 or 2 am Shut IT DOWN! Did you hear me Shut It DOWN! It was Ms. Celia's world, we were just lucky to be living in it. Danced so hard, I lost feelings in my legs had to be carried to the car lol!!!! Good times lol
It just hurts me when I see black and Hispanic people fighting over race,we need to come together as one.we had some Africans who emigrated to Mexico and we love them just like any body else!!!
Good reaction Jamel now you can do Elvis Crespo's Suavemente.... As soon as you hear it you'll see you've heard it at a Mexican wedding...thanx so much
