All of the content that you need to know for the "Cell recognition and the immune system" chapter of AQA A Level Biology. The content crosses over with other exam boards too. I get straight to the facts with no waffling. Content includes: cell recognition, phagocytosis, cell-mediated response, humoral response, vaccination, monoclonal antibodies and the ELISA test.
I also go through a few exam-style questions and their mark schemes.

In cell-mediated immunity, it is helper T cells that bind to the antigen-presenting cell, but you just need to know it as "T cell" for AQA 🙂

This video was so helpful, thank you so much! Do you think that watching your videos and making notes from it as well as using active recall with those notes, spaced repetition and practise questions would be enough for me to get an A* in Biology?

do you think just revising and taking notes from this and doing exam questions is enough revision? Love your videos thank you

@AlevelBiologyHelp 3 года назад
Sounds good to me! Make sure that you do plenty of active recall with your notes though! You could make flashcards, with a question on one side (e.g. what is the structure of cellulose) and the answer on the other side! Do as many exam questions as you can too! ☺️

Great video, very helpful and concise! Do we need to know the two main types of phagocytes for AQA (Macrophages and Neutrophils)?
@AlevelBiologyHelp
@AlevelBiologyHelp Год назад
That isn't necessary for the exams, but when you come to do the synoptic essay in A2, you could mention those as it would count as extra reading so you'll get higher marks! :)

Hi, thank you very much for the video! Do we need to know that the receptors are CD4 receptors or can we just say receptor proteins on the cell surface of T helper cells?

Hi - it honestly differs for each person (might make a video on this?). I would recommended 2 hours outside of lessons on weekdays and about 5-6 on weekends. If you have extracurricular activities, then please keep them up as they are so important for your wellbeing and sanity!!
