As a professional geneticist, I love Genotype by the same publisher - it has a very clever mechanism to simulate random genetic assortment when generating offspring - and I'm looking forward to trying Cellulose. Re: your comment about the non-uniformity of the materials, I think that it makes sense to use clear acrylic for the water and CO2 but the proteins probably should have been made of the same material as the other complex molecules like hormones and carbohydrates, whether that was wood or cardboard. P.S. The deluxe version comes with metal ATP "coins" which is a cute reference to the function of ATP as the convertible energy/currency in cells but in practice isn't very attractive in my opinion.
Mike, enjoying the amount of time and the method you employ in your post-play review. Excellent points to hit for the solo experience. I’ve added this to my wishlist!
This solo has a “smarter” AI that simulates a human player better, but the Genotype solo is easier to run. They are both a step up from “draw a card, block a space.” I personally like this solo AI more.
