This is years in the making. The Celtic squad is miles ahead of the Rangers squad. They've built steadily, spent wisely and have a team drilled to their exploit their strengths. It's not a Clement thing. That Celtic performance in the first half was exceptional, and we just don't have the quality to contain that. It's going to take time to be able to properly challenge them again, and going after the manager will just set us back.
@@rustikle5007 Why couldn’t Clement change formation to try and counter what the opposition were doing? Second question, has Clement ever changed formation? If Rangers were getting beat 10-0 at halftime would we come out and play the same formation during the second half.
@BillyMcMorran The formation didn't lose us that match, coming up against that level of quality and desire did. If you went 4-4-2 they'd still be pinging balls in behind Tav and Jefte. The current Celtic team is just miles ahead in various areas (inc. at senior management level) and we're gonna need time to catch up. Josh is right that changing manager would just be short-termism. If you want to build and get up to the level Celtic are at then you need some stability and patience.
It was obvious we we’re vulenerable to counter attacks but the midfield was poorly set up, every time we gave the ball away there was danger, missed chances and the goals were avoidable
I’ve seen worse 3 Nil loses than that. It should give us hope for the future. If we double up the price of a season ticket for the next 10 years we might get a draw at parkhead.
This won’t sit well, but Clement is our best long term hope. What other manager would take this job? We’re moaning about tactics, without having the players to implement tactical shifts. Let’s give Clement at least one full season… he’s still got deadwood to clear out and a lot of new players to integrate into his ’base’ system.
This season was always going to be a write off & potentially next season. Season 3 should be where we really judge him. This rebuild is just as big as the one Gerrard had when he first arrived at Rangers because of how far ahead Celtic are quality wise
😂 embarrassing rangers are the gift that keeps giving and am even saying that as a rangers fan must be the only none DELUDED rangers fan on here clubs been a laughing stock for years
@@user-ly5qi9zb5t maybe Betis away from home but I can’t think of many other impressive results. Beating “them” when they are already flying the league flag just doesn’t count
@@CafeMambo1982 We beat Betis at Ibrox under Beale before Clement even took over. So we were already capable of beating Betis. Losing away to Aris happen d when Davis was in charge, and Clement actually lost to Aris at Ibrox if I remember correctly.
Baloguns better defender than Propper, hes stronger, quicker, better on the ball, better in the air. Diomande and Tav were the worst on the pitch. Clement clearly doesnt know what to do. He needs to go.
Celtic will win league title 55 this season and equal our record. It’s time to remove the 5 stars from above the badge because it is no longer special. How anyone can sit here and say this manger needs a year or longer is beyond me. Are you a bunch of happy clappers happy to accept second best? Celtic are about to become the most successful team in the history of Scottish football. Rangers are being stripped of their identity. Get that manager sacked, get a competent manager in, and you’ll see performances improving.
@@jamescarr5796yes there is your arrogant club will come to an end eventually and I'll take pleasure in watching your meltdowns like in the past ALWAYS THE VICTIM YOU LOT REMEMBER
Sadly they have better players in every position- can’t accuse them of lack of effort etc… we’re closer to Aberdeen, Kilmarnock etc than we are to them. Europe will embarrass us
Phil Clement knows only one formation. The 4-2-3-1 wide. Brendan Rodgers is a good coach and he knew this. He set his team up to counter our one and only formation. They exploited the space where they knew it would be, dominated the game for 90 minutes, and Clemente proved that he cannot adapt. Phil Clement must be sacked before this team can move forward. We cannot have another Mark Warburton with one myopic view on a formation, and a total inability to adapt or try anything else. If we get a new manger we can go back to the 4-3-3- narrow that Gerrard and Beale used to make us far more competitive in these games. We can also bring the players Clement has alienated, such as Hagi and Lowry, back into the squad.
@@joe9042 face facts, we don't have the cash to sack Phillipe, pay compensation to get a new manager, rip up all the work that has been done and buy new players at the cost of millions.
This is back to the mid 80's when we could'nt buy points off our rivals. We need a complete revamp from the board, management, coaching and players, until we get this we will have a repeat of this result every time we play them.
Tavernier costs the first yet again .. mccausland is hopeless and costs the third. . Dessers is worst striker in history of rangers. We had chances but just never take them.
@@RFC1021 So was everyone in a Rangers shirt. And the way the manager set the team up in a predictable formation, and had no answer at all, was equally embarrassing. Now I see footage of Clement and Tavernier receiving fan abuse outside the ground tonight. I can honestly say tonight I am ashamed and embarrassed to be Rangers fan.
sack him and do what? Bring in another manager and still be stuck with the same rubbish team? the players are at blame for that today, individual mistakes over and over. Rabbi, Propper and tav falling over and Jack B for the 2nd (and Barron poor pass!) We offered bothing out wide today or in middle. The team is poor
I have faith in BIg Phil....... but the rest? Tav and Big Headed Butland need to be shown the door. Also we need to get rid of Alex Rae and get in Barry Ferguson on the coaching staff. Baz should be able to tell these so called players what it should mean to play for our club. This was bad! Follow, Follow.
Here's an idea - Rangers could simply choose to get liquidated again, get rid of the deadwood contacts and all the debt. Worst case The Famous have to start again in Division 2 - a few easy titles, a good wee journey - play the victim-card over the '"relegation penalty" - and, hey presto, the Rangers are back and can have another go with a clean slate. The Rangers can never die!
What’s most concerning. V B Beale and now Clement . Does anyone really see any difference between them ? It could be the same manager .turgid style of football , familiar patterns of play that look laboured and totally uninspiring. This is perhaps the most concerning aspect of many worries . Just seems rinse and repeat and it’s time questions were asked why is this happening? Why continue to replace failures with managers who persist with a similar style
The days of defenders marking a square of grass instead of clamping onto an opposing player in the box has to end. It doesnt work and is never going to work.
Look, Clement is not the problem!! How many managers have come and gone yet Tav is still Captain? Players look to the Captain to be an example & to set standards for a winning mentality + desire.. Tav is not capable of doing that.. Change the Captain!!
Agree, but it is going to take much more than just a new captain. We are miles behind them - totally devoid of any game plan or fight throughout the team
We are in a fight for 2nd, I think we are delusional to think that we have any hope of keeping up with Celtic, kills me to say that but we're literally years and years behind them and I really think we need to just forget about them and focus on coming second, coz in reality we're closer to a fight for 2nd than first
What do we really expect when our captain is the weak link in our team? Time for change & stop hanging our hopes on a player who is nowhere near good enough. Mcgregor leads by example, Tav looks for people to blame while jogging back. Embarrassing!
Game came too early in the season. Celtic's quality is evident. Ranger's hope through Clemente's coaching will be to play as an organised unit; a long road out though.
Zero organization in that team today. Yet to see any worthwhile playing style from Clement, and if that is at all indicative of it, we are truly f****d
Am I the only person that can see we need stability in the team. And not looking to win the league. The manager needs time to create a team that can beat the rest of the league comfortably. Then we can maybe start focusing on challenging celtic next year.
@@jeahboy7259 We finished with 93 points the season before Clement was appointed. You are telling me that since Celwmnt was appointed we have regressed so far back we are now competing for 3rd again? Sack the incompetent bastard!
All very well. But we've now had years of nonsense bar 1 season. The fans have rightly had enough.I for 1 ain't going to watch this crap in all weather's in the winter.
@@jeahboy7259 absolute pish..ange postecoglu went into them and transformed their style of play overnight!! Whilst I fully agree we have absolutely zero chance of the league this year I just think it’s an easy Kop out for the manager. He’s been in the door long enough now to have a team identity or a style of play.I’ve been at every game this season apart from today and if someone knows what it is please show me
What rangers are needing is somebody to invest money in the club so they can get players in to compete with celtic but i dont see that happening, unfortunately these players for rangers are not good enough to compete with celtic players, some of them anyway and all celtic need to do is invest in new players and haveing the most money in the scottish league they can choose a better quality of player and people say that money doesnt make a difference are talking rubbish.
Yep, but irrespective of what players you may well have, you have to be able to spot and exploit the opponents weaknesses, and we, from a managerial standpoint, do not seem to have that. Much as it pains me to say it, Rodgers had our weaknesses on both defensive flanks highlighted and made us truly look like what we are - not even 2nd class!🤬
If we really are in a rebuild situation as the manager keeps saying then it saddens me to say this but the captain has to move on and start again. Tav is now out of his depth. Maybe the next transfer 'window' will see this happen. Rogers must have been bursting his sides laughing when the team sheet came out. it is so obvious. Lastly, Clement is all about 'stats' . here's one for you. How many players left the field with a clean strip ? how many left the field battered, bleeding, socks at the ankles and burst heads with bandages soaked in the red stuff. ? That's the only 'stat' you need Mr Clement. No balls, no League flag nor trophies.Simple.
Enough is enough. The board clueless. Clement clueless. Players clueless. Where do we go from here?.. Been backing Clement since day one but I’ve had enough and he’s had enough chances. If he loses the OF at Ibrox he has to go. I know the payoff will be huge but no point keeping him around if he can’t beat celtic. As for the board they need hounded out. Completely clueless all over the place on and off the pitch. Let’s stop kidding ourselves on and thinking some of these players are special as they are not. Many of them get exposed for what they are in these games. Matondo, Diomande, Butland, Propper, Dessers, and of course the other usual guff. No leaders, absolutely spineless. Same story, embarrassing once again..
Im a celtic fanbut i can see exactly what rangers need to do. 1. Forget about spending money to compete with celtic for about 5 years. 2. Concentrate on your finances, get the club into a stable financial situation. 3. Build from the ground up. 4. Stop acting like you deserve to be the best the fact is your nowhere near the best. 5. Concentrate on making and saving money before throwing everything at playing catch up to leave you continually on the edge of bankrupcy. Doing this stuff will never happen though because the fans want instant gratification and wont want to sit watching the club build from the ground up smartly. Football is all about money now and rangers aint got any.
A lot of truth in what you are saying, but the gap is not as big as you think, the tactics made us look really bad with gaps all over the pitch for Celtics attacking players.
It is all about the Money.. Rangers and Celtic for years were the big two because they had the most money.. Now, it is just Celtic who have the most money (by a mile)
Hard work can trump quality. Longer the game went too many in blue were strolling or jogging around the park. Celtic were biting into tackles and closing down at pace. If you give quality space to work in you will get punished.
I never expected us to challenge for the league in all honesty. Got rid of 1st team players got a bunch of up and comers in that arent ready to fit right in, we truely have lost our identity. In a right mess. PC not that man for the job and just handed him a new contract, thats shows you just exactly how the board are running the club. Players like haji cant even get a look in when we are really lacking creativity. That lot are light years ahead of us
Why Shankland wasn’t bought to play up front with Dessers I will never know. A known Scottish born player with a talent for goals, him and Dessers would surely be a problem for most sides. Bringing in these lads who nobody has even heard of is just keeping fans quiet.
What planet are we on yeah celtic signed players is a poor excuse we looked beat before we even went on the park as usual players walking back when losing the ball. Need players that have a bit of a fight in them.
We are so vulnerable when we attack . Motherwell scored when we were attacking , Ross county nearly did and Celtic did . Did anyone see tav sorting his socks when Celtic were taking a throw in and his man runaway from him .. I really couldn’t believe it but I shouldn’t be surprised
Ano. They are so in awe And chuffed to get to ask a question- how about why we didn’t sign a striker. Pathetic. Last 3 January we didn’t and it cost 3 titles.and European trophy.
@@Adam-pf1nkrecruitment since Gerrard left has been awful. Butland terrific, Sterling good, Barron really good start but thats about it. Part of me feels for Dessers but he doesn’t do himself many favours. Needs 12 touches per shot and 20 chances per game. It’s just not enough. Anyone thinks there’s a real recruitment plan please let me know….
@@drewchambers1212 Phil Clement totally devalued the whole squad. He basically said everyone but the keeper could leave. Then he started to just dump players in to the reserves with no way back. He even said publicly he want to sell, he doesn’t want them, he can’t hold a gun to their head, etc. Every club out there knows they don’t need to bid much to buy a Rangers player.
@@BillyMcMorran Also shows you Clement pretty much agrees with the vast majority of Ranger’s fans when it comes to their views on the quality of players we have! Clement is on a hiding to nothing. The board have no money. This is a 3yr project we’ve started (at best)!
Absolutely clueless team have no set play players all over the place. Can see this season as one of the worst in recent years. We need cash and lots of it if we are to turn this around. Tavenier has been poor in every game yet he still gets a start. Clement has to sort out this defence.
I will be honest i have never seen it with Diomande. He runs about like a headless chicken, can't control the tempo of a game, can't influence a game, doesn't contribute anywhere near enough. Glen Kamara was better
You are trying to sell us the idea that all a new manager could offer us is a short-term bounce, and long-term failure. That’s bollocks. I’ve seen clubs in turmoil, and changing to a more competent manager has changed their fates overnight. Yes, there is big problems. That doesn’t mean we should ignore the obvious one in the dugout. How can we EVER hope to get better with a one formation excuse maker at the helm? He will NEVER beat Celtic.
We all new Tav is finished can't string two passes together no change from the last few years I much watch a different game,no striker brought in mince
Would be interested in the distance covered by both teams Joshua? We seem to be doing a lot of jogging and walking. Expect Barron. Time to park Tav and get some back line confidence. We desperately need a leader on the park.
This club has been on the slide off and on the park since Gerrard left. If the people in charge can't move the club forward, maybe its time to hand the club over to potential people who can !!!
I think rangers expectations are unrealistic. What brings success in football and any business really… is money. Rangers are skint as the club was mismanaged for years and now the consequences are being paid and will be for the foreseeable Time to suck it up and deal with it
Guys talking about Tavernier jogging back bu5 bet you he plays next game. … why does he play every week. What does he need to do to get dropped. He’s a horrific defender. Count the goals he costs us. Yet out he trots week in week out. Does you in.
Sad state of affairs how Rangers have dropped in ability, class and teamwork. It would take Alex Ferguson at least two years to do anything with the bunch. We need an invrstors in the club with untold funds, and i do not know where its going to come from.
International break (now) is the best time to change manager. Bring in McInnes and we have a chance to claw it back. Wait til it reaches 7-9 points in October / November and it's too late. What's the rationale for keeping Clemente - cos you can't keep changing manager? Well, YES you can if the manager is Sh!t.
The problem has been there for years a lot longer than any coach and how many coaches have been picked not fit for purpose if Rangers signed big Ange this argument wouldn`t be happening . As for Butland he`s no MacGregor
Our board are to blame and any rangers fans that own shares sell them for the better off the club and the board have wasted money on edmiston house and the copland road rebuild and wasted money on certain contracts sell your shares for the better of rangers
What have we achieved on this transfer window, reduced the wage bill and reduced the quality alongside that. Feels nothing more than the hand brake has been pulled by board and does not feel to me like clement is getting as much out of what he has, as he could
Saying for ages, Sterling needs to be moulded into RCB. Bring pace and aggression. Propper and Soutar have neither. Use Dutch boy at RB, remove Tav weakness. Shuffling chairs on Titanic but it would be a start.
