I would suggest inserting a metal pipe through the post in the bottom about 4 inches up so the post don't come out. When the cement dries, you could possibly pull the post out.
Actually, I've done something similar and now I can't replace the post. I'm going to do this again but this time I won't secure the post. I filled mine with soil and flowers so we'll see how it goes.
@@OneIdeaTooManyThey make a wrap for the bottom of fence posts for where it may come into contact with the ground. You may consider getting some for the posts where itll come into contact with the dirt in the pot. It'll help keep it from decomposing.
You'd definitely want use a pot thats wider at the bottom if its going to have some weight on it or its a windy area. (Like a shade sail or hang plants and or lights on it.)
Yeah 100% agree with you on that. I've done this but the calculations took me a while to figure out but I think the taller it is the wider the base needs to be and the more concrete you need.
Can u link the exact cement mix u got? Im looking to do exactly this on my apartment patio to build and enclosure. How has this been holding up since you made it?
