My dad was a driver instructor in the military and he stresses me so bad when I drive that I haven’t been able to learn very well😂 these videos help so much!!
Hi, thanks so much for this step by step guide..😊 Where I grew up doesn’t have these center left lanes so I was super confused seeing cars going in different directions in the same lane - thinking they were going to collide.
I had to find this video to confirm Im driving correctly. A lot of people doing left turns from those stop signs into the main road aren’t yielding to me when Im also left turning from the center lane. They try to butt in and try to cut me off but they need to re-read the driving handbook.
I see that every single day I try to get home! I drive an extended Chevy van and I MUST have a turning lane before I can be struck from behind, which has happened before. They honk at me and say bad things because I crowbar my way in and just sit there until I can see all three lanes are clear enough for me to make it through!
Thank u. Making left from center lane is important. I just now almost was rear-ended by a semi truck..this is starting to happen all the time at this intersection. Please explain how to negotiate this situation from a 4 lane with insane traffic tailgating in a ravenous bloodthirsty manner.
Let's say I have to turn left but I can just get to the middle lane because there is oncoming traffic from behind. Am I allowed to use the middle lane to wait until there is a spot to get in the regular driving lane? Or should I wait with my left turn until I'm 100% sure that I can make it across the middle into the regular driving lane? This seems to impossible from time to time due to high traffic, especially during the rush-our. I'm in South Carolina right now.... not sure if it is different in other states. My English is unfortunately not the best but I hope that I have nevertheless formulated the question clearly. Thank you
Same here! I’ve seen many ppl saying in other videos that it’s illegal in some states to hold in the center left lane before merging right… But how else can you make that left turn immediately when there’s a steady stream of traffic? Wait until 100% sure? Seems tough 😢
Yes. Sometimes if traffic is heavy its safer to pull out into the turn lane, pause and wait till you are clear to continue on your way by pulling into the lane with traffic
@@Zutobi_US I came to the US last year & started driving. It was your channel that enabled me to obtain the right Driving instinct here in the US, which is difficult no matter how much you learn the rules. Further, the tesla safety score helped me get ever more safer. But the principle ideas in practical form, was all your channel. Thank you.
Why can’t you turn into a drive way from the left lane? Was it because it was the lane further away? Was he supposed to be on the lane closer to the drive way?
POV: You're European and just switching from ETS2 to ATS for a change, come across this on the road for the first time ever and being too afraid to use it, because you think the solid line means you're not allowed to cross into that lane, then wondering why it's exactly the same from the other side... XD Now I know better! :D
Not every city has suicide lanes. Not all left turn lanes are suicide lanes. Those are center lanes that are converted into traffic lanes during peak traffic hours, often using left-turn lanes as extra lanes. You need to follow your cities posted signs to know what to do during designated times of the day. We have them in Phoenix. Certain times of day left turn lanes on specific roads stop being left turn lanes and you CANNOT turn left from them because oncoming traffic is using them as a normal lane. If you arent paying attention to times posted you could cause accident.
Ok but what if I’m driving on the right lane and turn into the center lane to turn left but there if car coming head on in the center lane that’s also gonna turn left what do I do..That one is a bit confusing
This instructor missed several important points. If your center turn lane is in an area with a lot of traffic, do yourself a favor and ALWAYS check your left exterior mirror to make sure some knucklehead isn't doing an Indy 500 in that lane. You could be coming up to your turn and get creamed by a moron using the center turn lane as a driving lane. And also, you have to be very aware of people using the lane in the opposite direction. Anyone like a head-on collision in that lane? It's ironic that the busy areas that need a center turn lane the most have the stupidest, most selfish people using them!
Yellow lines mean that you should not cross. Why does this woman keep saying that it is ok to do it? In case of an accident it's a possibility but this video seems like it is missinforming people.
