Awesome vid man! I feel the cast is what pushes people away from the pin so whatever helps people get it down is awesome! Thanks for taking the time. Bless you man 🙏🏽
Always love your content Danny !!! You are a true resource for all fishermen and your love of the sport truly comes across in all you do for us !! Thank you !!
Thanks Danny, I'm a first year steelheader and I went out and bought a budget oriented redline and raw 2. Once I graduate I'd like to get one of yours. Thanks for the information.
Thanks for another gret video danny just strated with the pin last 2 days and like you said after a few hours i was getting it down. So glad i made the switch l
Thank you for the video, I caught my first two salmon centerpinning yesterday, thanks to you I was actually able to cast, I learned from previous videos of you demonstrating the crossbody Wallace cast.
I feel like the rod makes a good bit of difference as well. The raven I have is so top heavy, it’s hard to handle. Looking to get something else here soon. Good video. I have trouble with that over the shoulder cast, mainly run 6 gram floats.
Very informative video as always Danny. I watched all your centerpin casting video, thank you. Can you do a BC Cast please. Looking forward to it. Thanks.
@Colville Outfitters - Any tips for after you grab that first fish after spooling new mono line onto a centerpin reel? I always find that it pulls my line down into the spooled mono on the reel and makes it difficult for the line to smoothly unwind on successive casts after landing a fish. This just happened to me this past weekend...I grabbed an 8 lb steelie first cast in and it was hell getting the line to come off the reel properly after I finished unhooking that fish and putting my float back in the water. I probably would've caught twice as many fish that afternoon (I landed 6, but could've landed 10+) if I hadn't needed to spend so much time pulling that line off the spool (I typically use 8-10 lb mono as my mainline, and put maybe 100 yds of line on the reel). I use tension when I spool new line on, always holding a finger down and moving back and forth over the reel when I first spool up to get the line onto the spool evenly. Any tips appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks Danny, Question, is it very important to use a shot line in medium/larger water, or can you fish without and still have a higher hookup/landed percentage? I don't use a shot line right now. Also, I love the overhand wallce cast. That would seem to be able to get the most distance and certainly easier to cast I think. I'd like to try that one next trip out.
Hello! Slava Ukraini! I am making a Ukraine themed reel right now and I am going to sell it and donate the money to some Ukrainian charity to help cope with this horrible war that is destroying Ukraine.
I’ve been practicing with my first centerpin based on the video. However, it isn’t clear when during the cast you release the spool-do you release at the same time you start spinning the reel?
Let’s talk about the spinning side cast for a second… most of my angling peers and myself seem to predominantly use that cast . Seems to have less resistance for long bombs and because the reel is spinning it’s literally taking the line twist out as it comes off the side of the spool
Greetings. You have very interesting videos. I also use this method of fishing. In my stores they don’t sell rods that would completely suit me for this method of fishing. So I decided to make a rod for myself. Tell me, how much does your rod weigh in this video, and how many rings are installed on it?
@@colvilleoutfitters3290 , Thank you! How much does your rod weigh? Is its mass balance located where you hold it with your hand, or is it slightly forward (towards the tip)?
Yo Danny I want to get into center pinning …need your help on the set up ….do you do one on one on the river with clients?…let me know I’m out from Syracuse and I’ll come out there ….for gear and a quick lesson if your down
Dude your shot a.f. flossing fish with a float. It's easier to catch them legit. If you had a braincell in that head you might do some research on how float fishing works. Why run bait if your flossing? Another clueless dingleberry hanging off my ass.
